This was my first stay at the Far East Village line of hotels. It met my expectations for the most part. The location is near several bus and train lines for quick access to transportation, as well as a mall with a supermarket open to 11pm. Convenience stores are also close by. The bed was comfortable, but the chair and desk bench did not seem designed for long term use like dialing into the office or watching tv. I was surprised there were no wired connections for the internet, but not a major issue as the wifi was fairly stable. The laundry facilities met expectations considering it's a washer/dryer combo (universally not the best at drying flannel or denim). The minor issues were that the room seemed smaller than typical Japan hotel rooms, very noticeable for the mini fridge and coffee/tea area. Also not a fan of the entrance room lights being on a timer with no manual controls. The room seemed a bit darker because of it. My biggest issue was a fair amount of hair on the floor, not my own, discovered after placing drinks in the fridge (plastic bags are static magnets). The eco cleaning rules may be to help the environment, but I would think the rooms would be properly vacuumed between guests. Overall, I would stay again on my next visit to Japan. With exception of the hair, the hotel covered the bases I needed for my visit.
Dear Mr. Raymond, Thank you very much for staying our hotel and sharing your experience with us. First, we would like to apologize that our service did not satisfy your expectations, especially about our cleaning service. We will share your comments with our staff immediately and strive to improve them before your next stay. Thank you for choosing Far East Village Hotel Ariake, and we look forward to your next visit. Sincerely, Mayu Far East Village Hotel Ariake, Tokyo
I want to book a room around the Odai Ba area for convenience. This is the cheapest hotel in that area (at the time I booked). The room is clean and comfortable. Suitable for my family's overnight stay. The hotel also prepared a set of toiletries (indoor slippers, cute toothbrush) for the child. The child loves it. Many hotels I've been to before do not have this service. My family is very satisfied.
Thank you very much for staying at Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Ariake. We are very happy to hear that you had a pleasant stay with us. All of us at Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Ariake will continue to make every effort to improve our services to the satisfaction of our guests. We sincerely look forward to serving you again. I’ve stayed here twice before as it’s rather simple to reach from Haneda airport. Odaiba is a fine neighborhood that’s not very noisy but somewhat isolated from everything else. Bus aside, your only real option is the Yurikamome line which is nice to ride but costly and takes a while to get into central Tokyo. The hotel itself is clean and modern with comfortable beds, although I found the rooms somewhat dimly lit. I would’ve also liked a proper chair and a slightly more spacious desk to at least be on par with APA but it is Tokyo. The staff are fluent in English as well and very professional. The check-out is 11:00am rather than the usual 10, which is nice.
Thank you very much for staying at Far East Village Hotel Ariake, Tokyo. We are delighted to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us, and we look forward to serving you again! Regards, Hatatani Far East Village Hotel Ariake, Tokyo
Front desk agents ignored me and made me wait for Nihonjin to be serviced that were in line in back of me, so I had to wait 5 minutes just to be acknowledged to when I was at the counter. Checkin was inefficient and took another 15 minutes, as the CSA ran away from the desk twice while taking care of me! Desk also did not greet me and not as polite to European and American Gaijin, as I observed differential attentive treatment given to Nihonjin. Please do not continue unfriendly and cold attitude in this manner. The housekeeping staff should be the front desk staff because they were warm and acknowledging, whereas I can say it makes a stay at your hotel feel 100% better and creates loyalty. I would hesitate in regards to staying here again because of that. They really suck. Other staff seem to have more responsibility taking care of your hotel guest in the dining area and housekeeping. The front desk has it easy the reservations are there a bunch of fuel buttons could not even welcome us with a greeting or smile or say thank you at any time except for three young men who were in night/overnight shift. I would think you need to retrain these people in order to process it correctly when they are checking in and checking out no thank you was given at any time this place is rude in American standards. I stayed six nights here two nights at La Vista I could easily stay somewhere else and be treated properly, instead of treated like a damn stranger everyday of my stay with the weird looks. I do hope the owners of this hotel will read this summation I am sharing. I live in Hawaii and we're very accommodating to everyone that visitshaving more many years and the tourism industry and now I work as airport security and I am always speaking nicely to Japanese people and they're come right up and ask this questions and there is no problem of being uncomfortable or feeling out of sorts because we do not extend negative feelings like that. Again feeling like a stranger every time you move through the front desk area is very unwelcoming and disconcerting to say the least. As far as cleanliness goes someone had excreted on the white chairs in the front lobby area and when I sat down I could smell it was as if someone was using the toilet next to me as I couldn't tell where it was coming from I should say that this is a horrible experience for myself and others to be sitting in this area and when it gets crowded you can't even sit in available chairs and tables in the dining room you have to end up sitting on a chair that someone shat on. Beyond that it's too embarrassing for me to bring it to attention not only to my inadequate Japanese language skills but because your front desk staff already treat me like I've got a disease. I've never had to leave a review or bother to leave a review to address this type of issue. Get it together. You need to retrain the staff as soon as possible one I'll keep losing business, well go right ahead and keep doing what you do so well.

“Just right for everything.”
We stayed for one night (twin room) with no meals for two women. We had read some not-so-good reviews beforehand, so to be honest, we didn't have high expectations. However, it turned out to be very good, so I wondered if they had made improvements since the reviews. I thought that having only four check-in/out machines was a bit too few. The day we visited was not busy, so the process was smooth, but I imagined it would take longer if there were more guests. We arrived 45 minutes before the 3 PM check-in and were greeted by one of the two staff members at the counter. They kindly explained that they could hold our luggage and provided details about the welcome drinks, which made for a pleasant experience that was easy to understand. The waiting area was spacious, allowing us to relax with warm drinks until check-in time. At that time, the amenity items were in a visible place, and the tea bags and stick coffee that we could take to our room were a nice touch with great service. The room size seemed average for a business hotel (?!). A friend mentioned, "It's larger than an APA Hotel," so I assumed it was about that size. The bed was surprisingly spacious with a firmer mattress, making it comfortable for sleeping. It was a pleasant stay overall. If the opportunity arises, I would definitely like to use this hotel again next time.
