Pros: -Relaxed and surrounding with green scenery, fish pond, roaster, horse, durian tree -free upgrading to wooden villa as simple double room is under maintenance, the wooden theme is spacious and comfortable Cons: -the location of retreat is at the roadside of karak highway, to bentong town you need travel a few km and make a u-turn, take around 20 minutes -the breakfast was stated as a la carte however no food choice was given, only toast and a plate of "big breakfast " was given to each person

Away from city, yet near to KL”
The owner was nice to let us picnic by the swimming pool. We were able to laid down our tikar and eat our picnic f&B.......phewww.....when the kids are happy, parents are happy too. The Acacia Retreat was a wonderful place. The place has 62 rooms with many rooms configuration. Its an eco resort setup. Our room were huge and clean.. ada la jumpa a few semut, but probably that can't be avoided sebab area hutan. I'm just truly grateful it wasnt lipas, cicak or tikus. Surprising, takde nyamuk in the room (plus points here). Did experienced low water pressure in the evening might be because we were at Level 3, but it shouldn't happen. In the morning, the water pressure was ok. Bole mandi dengan bahagia. Simple breakfast buffet was served, nasi lemak with rendang ayam, english style breakfast, roti & kaya, coffee, tea and fruits. Do check the place out should you wish for a quick-near to KL break but want to avoid the same old place like PD and Melaka.

Perfect venue for quiet getaway on the way to Elephant Conservation”
Beautiful grounds, landscaping maintained well and a variety of local fruit trees, flowers and resident animals (horse, chickens, etc) on site makes it all a very educational and exposure for my toddler. Don’t expect a five star resort, people. (I’ve seen some previous post complaining on ants and no phone line?) seriously, it’s a simple life away from the city. Has a pool! Good for the kids and adults. It’s not a huge place or dense so you will have plenty of privacy. At that time we visited maybe also it wa not a peak season. Near enough to drive to Bentong town for food and lotsa durian stalls on the way! Must try Toki Lemang.

Retreat feels”
Pros - nice scenery, large room, nice pool, durian stall in front of the gate with nice uncle Cons - no tv (yes its a retreat), yellow lake looks unpleasant to the eyes, secluded area in the middle of karak highway, so food and amenities can be difficult as you need to drive to karak and to return you need to make a uturn from bentong

A lovely GEM of a place!”
You definitely need your own transport to get there (although I think that can be arranged) as its off the Karak Highway - and we almost missed the turn-in as there wasn't much signage. To get to the resort, you have to drive across a cement bridge over the river - rather exciting and terrifying at the same time. Place is Civilized-Rustic - meaning, its country-nature living but with modern conveniences like air-conditioning and hot running water. NO TV, and no internet unless you walk to the lobby area, or get your own wifi. Please, it is a RETREAT, so go there to relax and disconnect from electronic communication! The room we had was a HUGE one, large enough to line dance in! The bathroom was interesting - it had a huge top-to-knee window at the shower area (of COURSE they had curtains for modesty!) but it made me giggle at the thought of showering in "public". The TAP was SO unusual - I loved that the water welled up into a "scoop" and then poured down. Breakfast was pretty generous (and included in the price of the room) - choice of Western or Local (Fried Rice, Fried Noodles) with a generous mug of coffee or tea. The Western was 3 sausages and 1 egg, with baked beans and spicy-savory potato wedges, and 2 slices of bread with butter and kaya (coconut jam) - the next day I asked for only 2 sausages and 2 eggs, no baked beans but more potato wedges, and they obliged. What is MOST unusual about this place is that they have a free range HORSE called Prince, but really, she's a PrinCESS. A very skinny horse though, as I could see her ribs, but there's the entire compound (and its a HUGE place) for her to eat the grass. There are also free-range chickens wandering about the place. The pool area looked very inviting, but alas, when we were staying there, the filtration pump had just broken down, and the replacement parts would not be coming in all that soon. So while the pool looked clean, we weren't allowed to use it. Other stuff you could do is hikin

Amazing service”
Booked cheapest room but they upgraded us because we asked for accessible room. It was raining so they loaned us an umbrella. Electrical problem when we came from dinner so they gave us the room next door. Even helped us moved. Room comes with breakfast, but since it is ramadan, they sent us a full-fledged suhoor. Too bad we can't finish all the food. The place itself is very nice and serene. No tv in room and internet is sketchy but perfect for a retreat as the name suggests. Since we stayed for only one night I can't rate the other offered facilities.

Very good”
Pro: 20-30 min drive to Bentong town. The staff are very friendly. Price is also very reasonable. Pool available. Con: Not much facilities. The jeeps are all not working. There is a funny smell in the room we got. Smell a bit like mothballs, resort said it’s actually the wood smell.

Not suitable to stay with young children”
Room is without water heating due to they are using solar heating system. And during late evening or night time, the room will be full of red ants around bed frame and floor. And it's quite dusty overall and improvement needed. Location is not in the heart of Bentong Town and the entry to the area is very dark and dangerous especially when night time.

Cleanliness need to take good care and no 24 hours receptionist”
While I checked in the mansion, it was quite a lot dust around the curtain and above the wall. There is some stains on the blanket made my younger brother felt unpleasant. Overall was a good deal, just need to take care of cleanliness of the hotel. While the time we discovered stain on blanket, we found that no staff familiar with where essential items in hotel put at 11pm, please try to make 24 hours receptionist available. Maybe one will do, thank you.

Peace”
It is very privacy and peace. It is far from city and good for those that want to have a family time. No wifi, No TV is good and healthy trip for family so that we can focus on chit chat, bbq etc. It is just you need to make sure you have enough stuff to bring since there is No convenience store nearby. You need to drive to small town.

Retreat Getaway For The Busy City”
The hotel is very scenic. We got the little cubicle room however at night the room was hauled by red ants (no joke) and we had to leave the room. Contacted the hotel manager and he immediately upgraded us to the bigger suite which was double the price of our first room! The hotel pool was a little dirty and looked undermaintained. But the view of the lake from our room was pretty spectacular. They have a pet horse there, which was friendly and super cute! The breakfast was not bad. Overall, it's a good spot to espace the hustle of the city.

Not according to my expectation”
Not really up to what i expected for a few reasons. 1. Wifi not provided. Maybe i missed out on the details when I booked this place, so not gonna blame anyone. 2. Mobile phone line is terrible at The Acacia Retreat. At most 1 bar 3g. Practically not usable besides whatsapp messages. 3. Location: Place is hard to go inside, as entrance is right next to Karak highway. Besides, entrance not obvious, easy to miss if not attentive. 4. I stayed in wood room. Sound proofing is terrible. Able to footsteps outside of room. Plus points: 1. Swimming pool is quite clean and big 2. The area at retreat looks very pretty.

Recommended : Bachelor Pad King ”
Very nice room arranged by the resort person in charge, spacious and facing the lake, 4G on Maxis is working well but not Celcom. Nice design bathroom with bathtub. Water pressure is good but morning lack of hot water. Very clean and well managed environment, green landscape and fruit trees around, clean and clear swimming pool. Nice arrangement on BBQ too. Charged RM 100 but worth the service as they prepared everything except food. Breakfast was nice, got nasi lemak / toast / fried noodles etc. Wish to have more value added service like free drinks bar or snack etc during noon and night.

Nice Place but ... ”
We are planning to have dinner at their restaurant but the staff told me their restaurant was renovation during that period, but we found there was no renovation when arrival. As advised, please check & reconfirm few times as there have no any restaurant surrounding. Although, there tom yum soup is delicious. Swimming pool is big but not clean, water is cloudy till can't see the bottom. Overall, great place for family or friends retreat and relax. Location is just beside highway. Room is clean and garden is well maintained.

Great”
Great experience here - the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, going so far as to help us set up a bbq under cover when it started to rain. Room was big and clean, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty, with lots of choice. Just remember, that because of it's location, don't forget to bring bug spray! I would stay here again.

Great Experience and Worth Every Penny! ”
Pros - Affordable, Beautiful and Filled WITH facilities, Spacious room space (I ordered the simpleton), great food in the Cafe. Cons - Cleanliness of the beds (found stains of blood on my covers), if you are coming here, you need to bring your own cleaning supplies.

Exceptional”
Even we booked it last minute, the price is still very affordable. The environment also not noisy consider it is quite near to highway.

Above average”
Room & bathroom has windows and glass doors all around - mind you put down the curtains. Took a while for the room to freshen after the AC was turned on but it was pleasant to sit out on the veranda in the evening. Staff took the effort to double check room when they showed it to us... and did a quick clean up when they found ants. Had quick look round the premises - seems set up for retreat, no telly, minimal wifi signal but tiny bit of nature to explore. Staff were generally kind and pleasant during the short encounters with them.
