El Conquistador Hotel
Retiro,Buenos Aires - View on map
"In a great location for accessing all the main sites and the happy hour deals are great value, but beware. We booked and paid in full in advance thinking this would ensure the best price. It did not! The rates by the day we arrived were less than half what we paid, and we should have cancelled and rebooked to save money. "

Exe Colon
San Nicolas,Buenos Aires - View on map
"A low price and an excellent location are the attractions here. We spent four nights there this week and were very disappointed. Our room was drab, the carpet stained, no light-blocking curtain, very small bathroom and no working showerhead (water gushed out, though hot) or drip-mat in the bathroom, The breakfast was very ordinary but with good coffee and fruit , warm scrambled eggs/ham, etc. but no muesli or oatmeal. The elevators took a looong time to arrive and some were not working. There was standing water in front of the elevator at all times 8th flr). The wifi was ok. I suggest you spend a few dollars more (the Hotel Panamericano is next door). Also next door is the excellent and cozy Le Parisien cafe (for a beer or a light meal); across the Avenida is the beautiful Teatro Colon and next to it the terrific Tango Porteno lesson/steak dinner/75 minute tango show... unlimited wine and beer included. Made you forget about the room."

Hotel Claridge
San Nicolas,Buenos Aires - View on map
"Claridge Hotel-Buenos Aires june 13-june16 2019 I have just stay this 3 nights in this hotel First the positive points: after reserving on line I requested that the room be ready at 12 noon it was just as I requested, a very wellcomme reception after a very long flight (24 hs+) well done! Reception desk crew very helpful with explinnations and directions and always with a smile and patience The hotel is willing to change foreign to local money from their cash at an acceptable rate, a very good plus if the banks and change offices are closed The housekeeping and dining room staff are top rated also the breakfast staff made their utmost to keep trays full for the full time of the morning meal, something not always done in others hotels Breakfast is better than other establishments of the same category. This establishment is located in a very quiet street in spite of its location in the main city centre, no heavy transit in this street ."

Hotel Pulitzer Buenos Aires
Retiro,Buenos Aires - View on map
"I stayed at Pulitzer twice in the space of a month. The first time was for 4 nights, the second was solo for 2 nights. The hotel itself is modern, chic and well presented. The staff are helpful, english speaking and not much fault could be found during our/my stay. A few very small issues, like extra hooks in the bathrooms for towels would be great, but overall a lovely hotel with comfortable beds, gorgeous decor and an excellent location for exploring the beautiful city of Buenos Aires. Staying in the microcentre you have many places to visit a short cab or bus ride away. I would definately stay here again and I also look forward to staying in their sister hotels in Paris and Barcelona."

Hotel Cristoforo Colombo
Palermo,Buenos Aires - View on map
"I was fairly dubious when booking the room, as it was very cheap. When I arrived at the hotel, the friendly staff helped me with my luggage into a room that far exceeded my expectations. It's definately not 5 star material, but for the price you get a more than adequate lodging. There was even fruit on the table for me. The staff were always happy to help with any query I had. I probably wouldn't recommend staying in Palermo over the Recoleta/Retiro area, but if you decide to stay here, you can't go wrong with the Hotel Cristoforo Colombo. "

Cyan Recoleta Suites
Recoleta,Buenos Aires - View on map
"When checking in, the lady wanted 50 USD p.Night for cleaning of the apartment. That’s almost the amount we paid for the night. I refused, checked also my booking and nothing was mentioned about that. Also tried to make a new booking to see, if that is mentioned anywhere, but nothing. Interestingly she later didn’t insist. Seemed clearly a scam to make some extra money. Never again !"

More about Buenos Aires

One of South America's most striking and successful cities, Buenos Aires is as cosmopolitan as it is nostalgic. From the high-rise hotels of Puerto Madero to the colonial architecture of Plaza de Mayo, this is a city of exciting contrasts. Ministro Pistarini International Airport is Buenos Aires' bustling gateway and offers flights to major cities across Europe and the Americas.

Puerto Madero boasts some of the best upscale hotels in downtown Buenos Aires. Removed from the main sightseeing area, this district is best suited for business travelers and tourists who prefer sunsets over the port to rousing nightlife at their hotel's doorstep. The waterfront restaurants in this part of town are of particular note.

Recoleta is another excellent accommodation district with its lovely colonial architecture. Even the district's name ignites the imagination, and it's impossible to walk the streets of Recoleta without being reminded of the glamorous days when Buenos Aires was dubbed the 'Paris of South America'. Exclusive boutiques and luxury hotels abound in this area.

The range of activities offered by Beunos Aires is both wide and surprisingly varied. The tango was born here, so visitors flock to exhibition halls and dance studios to watch or take lessons. The local dining scene benefits from the region's world-class wine and beef industry, and the cosmopolitan cultural scene includes great museum and theaters.
