Savoy Mactan made our first impressions with Cebu truly enduring and unforgettable. As a first time visitors we have in mind to book a beachfront hotel near the city and Mactan fits the bill. Cebu is blessed with beautiful geography and you have the wonderful experience of mountains, the city and beaches!!! Not to mention the heartlands where all the one of a kind experiences awaits you. We booked Superior deluxe rooms with twin beds and breakfast for 3 nights. The prices costs for a very affordable 80 sgd++ per night with breakfast. Located in Mactan so its very near the airport at just 30 mins and our Grab costs only less than 300 pesos. It is about an hour from the city and additional 1 hr if you will go to other places in Cebu but we are prepared for it because my Father likes to be by the beach. The hotel is much affordable than other 5 star hotels in Mactan and it it what we are looking for. It is not directly beachfront but close to you can walk safely for 10 mins or take their free shuttle every 2 hrs. The place is located in Mactan Newton which is an upscale town located by the beach with many hotels, condos, offices, shops and places to eat. I loved the entrance of this town especially the fountain with Dolphins at its rotunda. We arrived in Cebu before noon and after a quick lunch at the airport we took a grab to the hotel and arrived just before 1 in the afternoon. The staff were kind enough to check us in early and this is a bonus point right away. They helped us carry our luggages and our rooms are adjacent to each other at 12F with a picturesque view of Cebu strait over the horizon which is also the private beach of the hotel. First impressions the Lobby - very huge, artsy and modern I loved the aromathic smell of the place that will greet you, a lot of sofas and lounges chairs, a cafe, paintings and murals and their in house Savoy cafe and Zabana bar which is just across the lounge before the lift area. The check-in - [ ] counter have a cute Crayfish aquarium which are very adorable and charming and enticing. We were assisted by the hotel staff the moment we took off our Grab and they brought our bags into our rooms. The lift area is at the back of the lobby adjacent to the cafe. Our rooms are on the 12F and the lift were fast and not heavily congested. The only thing we noticed the hallway is a bit warm. The rooms were quite spacious and clean the moment we came in. The pathway by the door is so big you can put a lot of luggages. Floor is wooden style tiles and the bathroom is right on your left side. Despite the big room the Grey and Black toilet is a bit small still manageable. They provide bidet which is a plus for me and toiletries with refillable aromathic shower gel/shampoo. Only thing the tiles they used for the sink doesn’t absorb water easily so for just a simple hand rinse it cauld get wet easily so you have to always dry it. The shower head for both rooms have some minor issues but the hotel utilities fixed them right away. Water pressure is strong and heating is easy to manage. They provide clean body towels only but no floor one. Next to the toilet is the wardrobe and mini-bar. The former has hangers, safety lock, compartments and blow dryer. The latter has complimentary tea/coffee/bottled water which are replenished daily during housekeeping. They have cups, glasses and mugs provided and kettle. There is a mini-fridge located here as well. Next to the wardrobe are the 2 single beds which are quite big for single beds, clean, comfy and soft. The pillows and blankets are clean, soft and thick enough to warm you in the cold aircon air. In between beds there is a mini-carpet which I loved the idea when you you go out of your bed can walk comfortably barefoot. There is a bed table in between with the hotel phone and remote for TV. Aircon is on the wall dividing the toilet and bed and could be controlled by its wall mount switch. Lighting is controlled by the door and by the bed table and I always l

Hotel was Beautiful and clean in the lobby and superficially clean in the room but the rug was covered in stains although vacuumed and no dirt. Somethings leaking in my phone away I couldn’t determine what. A few of the light switches didn’t work. The bathroom sink faucet was rusted and difficult to use. I was surprised given the newer age and price to find these things in this hotel. But it is clean and safe and in a very pretty new area of newtown. The area is very popular with foreigner, so oddly, even though it’s tucked behind the local barangay hall, it was difficult to find any Filipino food outside the overpriced hotel café. There’s a Jollibee down the street but I don’t typically eat there. They are small Newtown entrance stands, but they don’t open until mid morning. I need a taxi was 350. I was told by hotel staff are to be 200 and 300 and I know the route to the airport so I’m not sure what the issue was with the meter. But of course you have to request the meter to be activated. It takes only a couple of minutes to get a taxi. Airport transfer by the hotel is 800 pesos, far overpriced. Much easier and cheaper to get a taxi. This area is being developed mostly as a condo area did proximity to the airport and good safety also walking distance to Sto Nino church. No big mall but LG Garden Walk to the left.

Didn't Disappoint. ”
Stayed at quiet a few Savoy Hotels and have always enjoyed everyone. And I'm pleased to say the Mactan Newtown hasn't disappointed. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Check in was quick and we were even given an upgrade, which was a real treat especially as we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The room was, clean, really nice and comfy and everything worked as it should. Our room overlooked the swimming pool, which was such a temptation, but unfortunately we had just flown in from Hong-Kong and didn't have any swimwear. Breakfast was good, but we did miss the traditional Western food, but as they say " when in Rome" lol. Definitely we would recommend this hotel, especially as it has plenty of eateries, shops and it's own private beach. Plus it's close to the airport and there are local buses to take you to Cebu City etc. Thank you Savoy for not disappointing 😊.

I booked 1 week some staff and nice some are not in the mood when u ask something. So on my 1-3 days keys not working all the toke time when comeback to my room so i have to come down to the lobby i was exhausting from traveling north. So the fromt desk said they will call the maintenance guy why my card dont work so i go up again to my room amd wait for few mins and then the maintenance guy opened the door for me and he said i need to go back to the lobby to update it. I was so freaking tired cant barely walk because we had adventure all day to the noth so i go down again to update it and i said pls make sure its updated till my last stay here. Ive been doing that for straight 3 days and the fromt desk didnt say sorry for inconvenience she just say “i think u book different day or each day i dont know what shes talking about and i said why i would do that? I booked straight 1 week on this hotel. So she updated my card like shes bored on her job and gave me the key back. Also room is not clean ,coffe cup not clean after using it, no face towel,no hair dryer (i asked one you'll have to call them). Shower no pressure so i ended up using sink water to wash my hair using coffee cup. I like the pool,gym,good location and restaurant. Pls need to improve customer service,house keeping . This is my honest reviews based on my experience. I was stayed in belmont hotel last month its more expensive but i have a great stay there.

1박 묵으면서 장점도 있었지만 일부 단점도 보였습니다. 장점: 1. 위치: 공항, 마트(Easymart, Metromart, 7 eleven 편의점) , 레스토랑(Choobi Choobi 등)이 가깝다 2. 친절한 스탭들 아쉬운점: 1. 룸 컨디션: 컵에 얼룩? 더러운 액체가 묻어있었고, 누가 쓰고 침대에 버린 렌즈가 완전히 말라비틀어진게 이불 밑에 버려져있었음. 하지만, 필터를 꼈을때 바로 색깔이 많이 변하지 않아서 물 컨디션은 양호한듯 2. TV채널이 CNN하나에요. 티비 사용가이드도 룸 안에 없었고 아무리 바꾸려고 해도 바꿀수 없다는 안내문구만 나왔음. 다른 채널들이 더 추가되면 좋겠어요. I enjoyed staying here even though there are some to point out that should be improved. What I liked about - Location: It is quite close to the airport and has many marts such as Metromart and Easymart and restaurants such as Choobi Choobi around here, which our couple liked about. - Friendliness: All the staffs were very nice to us. What should be improved - Condition of the room: The room was not like perfectly clean, such as the stain? on the cup and completely dried contact lenses someone used on the bed. It could have been better if the cleaning staffs could take a deeper care while cleaning the room. Other than that, it was okay to stay since there wasn't any bugs in the room and the water filter didn't change the color that much. - TV channels: It only had one channel to watch, CNN. I wasn't able to change to the other channel. It didn't have any guide to change to the other channel as well.
