Since it's a capsule hotel, I was able to use it at a low price, but the facilities were far from the typical capsule hotel level. First of all, it offered individual rooms separated by curtains, equipped with a safe for storing luggage, a clothes hanger (wardrobe), a small table, and a chair, which made me very satisfied. Apart from the fact that the bathroom is shared, it was similar to a small hotel room. I could also buy snacks and eat them in the evening! It might have been because there weren't many people, but I never had to wait in the pleasant shared bathroom and shower room, and it was extremely clean. I thought the completely unmanned operation would feel awkward at first, but in fact, it was nice not having to engage in unnecessary conversations during my exhausting journey, and the atmosphere of quietness and the feeling of independence without any presence felt very comfortable. It's also a bonus that it's near a FamilyMart. Plus, there's a large Don Quijote nearby. Restaurants close to the accommodation stay open late. The Animate main store is about a 15-minute walk away. (It is a bit far from areas lined with merchandise shops... there is a railway that creates a sense of disconnection.) However, ① I felt that the accommodation was generally cold, so I think it would be difficult to stay there in the middle of winter (the temperature at that time was around 5 to 10 degrees Celsius). ② As you may know from reviews, there is a station nearby, so the sound of trains passing by continuously 'rings'. It really rings. You can feel the rattling sound and vibrations. So if you are sensitive to noise or come back late at night, I wouldn't recommend it. However, if you use AirPods Pro 3rd generation with noise cancellation, you won't hear a thing, so it was bearable. If you have slightly higher quality headphones/earphones, it won't be a problem. ③ The completely unmanned operation has its good points, but if you don't familiarize yourself with the check-in method, you may not be able to enter the accommodation. ⭐ Be sure to make a reservation and check with the accommodation if you received the room number and password needed for check-in. ⭐ In fact, there was someone who couldn't check in and was shivering outside the hotel... Since there are no staff members, the response is slow, and if you don't receive the number, you can't use the place at all. Please keep this in mind. ④ The location of the accommodation is primarily in a love hotel area. I didn’t mind, but if you go a bit further, there are many motels in the bar district, so it might be wise to avoid it if that bothers you. The downsides are clear (noise, check-in, heating), but I think the advantages outweigh them, so I highly recommend this accommodation. If you are not particularly sensitive and have good performance earphones and are looking for a cost-effective place to stay, I highly recommend it!! I stayed for three consecutive nights, and it was absolutely the best. 👍 (However, I think it might not be suitable for those who don't fit with it.)

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and here are the things I appreciated: 1. When I arrived on the first day and around noon on the second day, unexpectedly, there was a staff member working at the entrance. Although she didn't understand English, I could feel her friendliness and kindness; she greeted me. I appreciated this staff member. 2. The first floor is for men, and the second floor is for women. I found the hygiene on the first floor and near the entrance to be a bit poor, which should be caused by the guests, because the second floor was very clean and felt like it was being cleaned every day. I think it mainly depends on the behavior of the guests, as hygiene can vary. 3. The shared facilities are complete, and the room has a separate space, clothes hangers, tables and chairs, and a safe, which is all very good and practical. However, the cupboard in the room is made of wood, and it makes a loud noise when opened or closed, which is quite disturbing. 4. There are residential houses, hospitals, and convenience stores nearby, so returning to the hotel at night is not a worry, and it's very convenient to get snacks. 5. The walk to and from the station is relatively straightforward, taking about 10 minutes. For solo travelers, this is acceptable. However, I strongly recommend that guests bring their own earplugs, or the hotel could consider providing prior notifications to guests regarding maintaining quietness at night, encouraging cooperation. 6. Because two of the nights were very noisy, I didn't sleep well. Some guests returned around 12 midnight, packing their luggage until about 1:30; others were talking on the phone at night, which was really disturbing. However, the last night was the most ideal; although some were packing luggage or chatting with friends, they intentionally kept their voices down, so it didn't cause too much of an impact. Therefore, the stay experience also depends on other guests. 7. At night, there is the sound of trains passing by, which causes a slight vibration. Compared to the noise created by people, the sound of the trains passing is not too bad. 8. In the first two days before check-in, I still hadn't received any information from the hotel, including the entrance code and so on. This left guests without check-in feeling uneasy, as this is a contactless hotel. There was concern about not receiving any information upon arrival and being unable to enter the hotel. I suggest that the hotel consider sending a message to guests who haven't checked in yet once their reservation is confirmed, indicating when they will receive information such as the entrance code. This practice would make guests feel more at ease.
I'll summarize it casually. Personally, I think it's a good hostel. The entrance is completely unmanned, you enter the passcode on the front door to unlock it, and for check-in, you write on a paper yourself and drop it in the mailbox (it may not be completely unmanned, though). For those who find face-to-face interactions bothersome, it's just right. This is my first time experiencing such a high level of automation and self-service, and I found it surprisingly comfortable. I imagined the capsules would be packed tightly together, but there was ample space, and the room had a desk and chair, feeling somewhat like a semi-private space. It was relatively spacious and relaxing. The nature of capsule accommodations means you might encounter annoying guests or snoring, but luckily, there were none during my stay, and I was able to spend my time quite comfortably. *This aspect can't be helped by the hostel itself. Due to the location of the establishment, there's the Saikyo Line train tracks next door, and indeed, there is some noise and vibration. However, I personally didn't mind it. It's located down an alley, so you won't be bothered by noise from cars or motorcycles, which is a good point. There are no shops or convenience stores nearby, so you need to take care of that before arriving or after leaving. That might be inconvenient. *There is at least a vending machine. Also, for some reason, there are a lot of LOOP spaces around. The bathrooms and showers were clean. *Again, cleanliness could depend on the guests at that time. Conversely, since there are no staff, there are no people to clean or tidy up. It may depend on the level of the guests. It's a bit of a walk from the station, and depending on the route, you might pass by love hotels or adult entertainment establishments. Personally, I actually felt it was safer because it was bright and there were people around. Above all, for the low price and this quality, I am satisfied. I personally thought it was good and would use it again.
The location gives off a scary impression with the hotel district around. Since trains run at night, there are often times when you can feel a slight shaking. When I first stayed, I didn't know how to check in or enter the building, and I searched through emails in front of the building! However, my stay was very comfortable! Towels are provided for the duration of the stay, and the environment with nearby convenience stores, supermarkets, and coin laundry is excellent. The shower room is a bit small, but there is no inconvenience at all. There is also a kitchen, making simple cooking possible! I felt relieved to find that there is a refrigerator and freezer!

- The location is good, close to Ikebukuro, has small grocery store and Lawson within 5min walk. - The common area is mostly clean but this depends on who else is staying there. Staff tidied daily around noon. Clean linens were provided. On the surface the pod looks clean but is VERY dusty upon inspection. - M and F are on separate floors. -!!!! I was not sent access to the hostel until the day AFTER I arrived! The hostel requires a PIN code to access. I had to wait for someone staying there to come back to/leave the hostel in order to get in. After a 15hr flight and commute from Narita waiting outside in humid 32⁰C wasn't fun nor expected. Despite my messages no one responded and the phone number wouldn't call thru agoda. This was met without apology only a crude note the following morning. - The staff I did encounter during my stay did not acknowledge anyone's existence; didn't say hello, didn't ask how the stay was etc. The male attendant cleaned quietly while the female stomped around as if intent to wake you up or is in a constant state of anger. - common areas are on each floor but the separation from the sleeping area is minimal so noise can be heard throughout the night/day despite the signage of 2200-0700 "quiet time". There was not a single night of my 4-night stay where I wasn't awoken by someone else, I am not a light sleeper. - having my own pod and general area were nice but marred by everything else. There's a ton of competition in Tokyo, I'd stay elsewhere for the price.
