South Moravian hotels & places to stay

Very good hotel. We stay in Brno once or twice a year ( for 40 yrs plus)and this was our first booking at this hotel. Although this is at the edge of town it is not a problem. Our only problem was with the door lock to our room. Don't stay in 717! WE were locked out for about an hour. However, this was unfortunate and does not denigrate the good experience! WE are booked for next month, so not a problem.

I decided to book room in Barcelo. I have arrived around 11:30am however it was to early as staff advised me there are no rooms available and check in starts at 3pm. Staff was nice but seems to be little bit surprised (not sure if that was positive or negative) that I speak local language. Room was very nice, spacious, comfortable, clean. Bed was not so soft and I could imagine better quality of bed. Anything else was really good. Free internet is accessible in all areas of hotel without needing password. Nice design lobby but I did not really find it good for business meeting as there is not so much privacy. I hold business meetings outside of the hotel. Hotel is in downtown area and major attractions are just walking distance. Distance to train station is just 8 minutes’ walk, no need to take taxi. The best of this hotel is the look of its historical building that is completely reconstructed.

The staff is very friendly, enthusiastics careful and supportive as I came to Brno so late and the receptionist worked until 8pm, but she sent me an email to inform about it and asked the security to transfer the key to me. The location of apartment is in the city centre and easy to walk to mall and station. Especially, the room is perfect with cleaniness and decoration. Other facilities like kettle or hair dryer are so good, the only minus point is that the building was built a long time ago and has no elevator. This may be very tired if you bring many luggages. Overall, it is a great place to stay and I will definitely stay here if I hava a chance to come back to Brno. Thank You the team for great services!

We have had a romantic weekend with lots fo dinning and very rich breakfast. Brno is overall considered as poor hotel quality for high price. Ricc is a realy a different experience. Some people realy tried their best to provide the atmosphere. On the other hand, for that price you would expect that staff act accordingly, but id does not. Sometimes they event dont say “Hello” to you and it is very strange.

Nice hotel, clean, great buffet breakfast, spotless bathroom, good lighting. What definitely was missing was a ceiling or table fan. We were there in mid August for 5 nights and it was warm. For tourists, its a bit far to the closest metro stop which is 850 metres away. Closest shop/utility /convenience store, Albert supermarket is 1100 m away, 15-18 minutes by walk. Very few dining options close by. Closest was U Kajamana - very good local restaurant serving traditional Czech cuisine.

Ob prijavi v hotel, zahtevali plačilo v naprej, ki je bilo višje kot preko rezervacije ali podatka na spletni strani. Pojasnilo je bilo, da je to zaradi provizije, ki jo morajo plačati spletni posredovalnici rezervacij. Drugo noč bivanja, je bila na dvorišču glasna zabava, ki je trajala do 0:30 in do takrat ni bilo mogoče spati. Samopostrežni zajtrk je bil soliden, vendar ko je zmanjkal prvič pomarančni sok, so ga naslednjič prinesli razredčenega z vodo. Osebje ni bilo preveč prijazno, za razliko od pogovora preko telefona.

To tell the truth, I like more hotels with modern design, but I decide to order this one, because it is so close to city center and also close to parking place opposite. Ok, the design of the hotel/room is old, looks like from the 80th, but I respect it - for some people this is the ideal. But the location and the price is soooo good, that to worth for it to stay here. The room is enough big, but we get a bigger one. It is clean and comfortable. The older staff is smiling and make a good mood. The younger staff are students who concentrate to their job, than they do not smiling. The breakfast was nice, too. You get a small warm and a small cold breakfast, also an American one and a sweet French one. It is the same - maybe - every day (we stay 2 nights, but the breakfast was the same), but delicious (nice bread, cheese, hams, sweet pastry...). The one of the best possibilities to stay in the town.

We had a good stay here. The guy at the reception was very nice and despite of not being able to speak perfect English, it was no issue to get an extra pillow and to do our laundry. The room was clean and decent. One thing which may trouble some late sleepers is that the window on the roof, even with the yellow shade pulled out, let some sunlight through and make the room bright in the morning. However, not all rooms probably have the same window as they are not in the top floor. The distance from downtown is a few kilometres, so you probably need to take the public transport. However, the tram number 12 travels from downtown close to the apartment, so we thought it was also convenient.

Hotel was clean, warm and more than adequate for my purposes. For what I paid it was very good value especially as it included in room internet, wi-fi etc plus a garage/car park with security entry. The down-side was a not particularly helpful receptionist when I arrived although this might have been due to language challenges but the receptionist on duty when I left was extremely efficient and more than helpful when it came to arranging for me to leave my car in the car park for the day whilst I was at meetings. One annoying issue was that when I went in for breakfast (which was very good) I had to eat to the steady thump of disco music which was clearly there for the entertainment of the two waiters rather than thepleasure of the customers. The food selection was very good but the coffee was of the automat instant variety from an urn rather than freshly brewed. Would I stay there again? Most definitely. As regards room selection, I suggest asking for a room on a higher floor and away from the street since there are tram lines outside.

Very good standard city business hotel. How to get there is clearly written in the website. Convinient by tram. Very good breakfast with best castle view on the hill. Fast Wifi. Good pub and restaurant next to the hotel. What I like the most is the service mind of the hotel staff. I asked for iron and ironing board by email. When I arrived I found that they were already in my room!!! Also we can buy the tram ticket from the reception. On my last day I wanted to give it to the hotel as anyway I will not use. The reception bought it back from me. Little things but I think this make your stay pleasant.

The hotel had a nice room with a bathroom a little on the small side. The staff was very friendly and the made to order free breakfast was very nice. The only problem with the hotel is the location. It was quite far from the city center, about a 20 minute walk. We usually don't mind a long walk if; however, the hotel is in a pretty crappy neighborhood and the entire walk to the center consists of walking through it.
