Where to stay in Shizuoka Prefecture
Shizuoka Prefecture hotels & accommodations
A really beautiful hotel situated right on the best beach in the area. The staff is very attentive and accommodating, and the rooms are spacious, well appointed, and with a beautiful view. The public baths are very comfortable and the massage is amazing. If you want to relax with easy access to the beach and to charming Kawazu town, this is the place to be.
Originally booked a small double room, but the room allows smoking . I worry that may have smell so I remind hotel to ensure the room is refreshed . Hotel was so kind to upgrade me to a non- smoking double room. Thus it was super valued . The room has an excellent view which facing the sea and the pool ! The hotel also offer shuttle to Kawasu station! If you like to wa...
For a 3.5-4 star hotel, the price you are paying for is considered value for money. Counter staff spoke enough english to facilitate with check-in. Its a 8-10 mins walk from JR Numazu station, but there's a bus stop directly outside the hotel if you know which bus to take. Will stay again if I come back to Numazu. For LLSS fans, hotel is decorated with lots of yohane g...
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shimoda Tokyu Hotel. I stayed one night in a double room with view over the ocean for a discount of more than 70% so it was cheap for this kind of service. The room was comfortable with great products in the bathroom, comfy robe, towels and bed linen, as well as free hot drinks and water bottles. The best part were probably the breakfas...
We read a lot of review before booking this hotel. And the Hotel Associa did not disappoint us. The bus stop from Shizuoka Airport was directly in front of the hotel entrance. And it was so easy to visit any sites in Shizuoka. The JR Shizuoka Station was just next to the hotel. There were countless restaurants and stores inside the station itself. The breakfast w...
We were surprised and amazed by the size of the room and comfort of the beds, I think my kids had their best night sleep in this hotel throughout my 8 days of stay in Japan. 2 queen beds + a baby cot, and sofa, and still lotsa space!! Bathroom was great too!! I think SPACE is really what kids like, they sleep better and longer hours. We adults are better rested too. Br...
My partner and I stayed in this lovely Ryokan for 1 night, and we couldn't be happier with our stay! The incredible hospitality started when we got on the shuttle van that picked us from the station. We got picked up by Ms. Watanabe who welcomed us with hot tea and warm towels in the van which felt perfect in the cold February weather. Once we got to the Ryokan we we...
I only came to Izu for the onsen experience and I probably came at a low-peak season as Izu was pretty much a ghost town. There was nothing to do in Izu anyway, it was just a small town with onsen hotels and a beach for surfers. I arrived at the station and the hotel's shuttle van driver was already waiting for my arrival despite me not making any pick-up arrangements....
The restaurant deserves at least 1 Michelin star - it beats most 1 star and even 2 star restaurants The breakfast is equally sensational The service quality is incredible and the most accommodating and attentive I have experienced
The hotel is located near to Gotemba station, approximately around 10 minutes walk. It is very convenient to reach the hotel. The room is well equipped with essentials. Toilet and bathroom, with bathtub, bathtub with warm water is all we need after a long walk and exhausted feet. My room is a twin bed room, but in my opinion, one bed is a slight wider than the another...
I had serious doubts about staying here purely due to its location and relying on the shuttle bus, but we went ahead and tried it anyway. And wow, we were so happy we stayed here. First, the free shuttle bus to-from Shizuoka station was quite frequent, say on a hourly basis or so. So, it worked out perfectly fine. The schedule is posted on their website, so you can c...
The hotel is one of the biggest in Mishima, only 10 minutes walking to the train station. We planed to go to hotel in Fuji Mt but hotel there was too expensive, and we found out Dormy inn. This hotel has excellence design, room space , bathroom, spa for free and super helpful staff ( I forgot to ask name of the you women at reception but she is one of the best). The ...
Price is really affordable and hotel is clean and excellent location right near the JR Numazu station. Perfect location for exploring Numazu and if you are a Love Live-er then even better as a lot of the locations are around the area of the hotel. The free breakfast is excellent and the food is unbelievably good for no cost to you whatsoever and menu changes every morn...
Room: very clean and much bigger than any other hotel room in Japan. Huge bathroom! Location: there’s only one bus stop outside the hotel and the next bus terminal is about 1km walk away. So it’s quite troublesome if you traveling with children or big luggages. Staff: Super friendly and accommodating. On the second day, the staff on duty sent us to the bus terminal a...
Breakfast is pretty good, you can eat delicious food there. The staff is nice, they can communicate in English; location is pretty nice, only 5 minutes walk from the Shizuoka station. Semi-double room is not that big, but that is not a big deal since all rooms in Japan are small :) Recommend this place if you're going to visit Shizuoka!!
For those traveling to Gotemba from Tokyo via the regular trains, this hotel is highly recommended because it sits across the train station. The station for buses going to and from Tokyo station is also very near. The room that we got is a bit small and looks old, but it had a very good view of Mt. Fuji. The bathroom had a tub and the hot water was working well. Water...
I’ve stayed at several hotels in the Hamamatsu/ Iwata area. This hotel is the best balance between cost and “niceness”, for a business person on a budget. The staff speak enough English, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is quite good.
The wife and I needed a place to stay near Numazu station, and this place is great. The place is spotless, the staff are helpful, the buffet breakfast great - a mix of Japanese and western food. The only warning I should give is the small double we booked would be no good for large people. The bed was fine for us, but if you're tall or large, book a bigger room.
Staffs are so kind and helpful. The location is perfect to stay in Shizuoka for shopping and good restaurants. It takes 3~5min. to the station by walk. Parking space is limited but eady to use. They charge 1200 yen per day. Breakfast is a Japanese style but not too bad camparing with ordinary Japanese hotel. I would say it is a quiet resonable hotel in Shizuoka.
Staff was really nice and they were quick to respond my e-mail. I had my package sent to and from the hotel using Yamato and staff was really helpful and kind to help me out. I am genuinely grateful for your help. ありがとうございました! The room was spacious unlike other Japanese hotels. Mine was around 30+ sqm. Everything was clean. Bed was huge and comfortable. The reception...
If you want to stay nearby mishima this hotel is a good option. very low price including decent breakfast and easy to go to the station. There is a bus route to fujiyama 5th station from Mishima Jr station which I took. and I recommend Sakuraya restuarant which sells the best Unigydong ever.
The location is excellent, walking distance on the important places and easy to find. Staff are very helpful and accomodating and they speak english. The room is not that big but juat enough dor luggages. I love the bathroom, it is very important to me. The free breakfast is great, they have breads, egg, spam, sausages, burger patty, vegetable, cornflakes, coffee and j...
Lived in semi private economy cabin for women. Please noted that the ‘door’ of the room is only a curtain. There is no lock for the room. However, the hotel provides lockers for valuables. There’s a makeup room which provides hair dryers, hair tools, and cream for cleansing and moisture skin, impressive! Location of the hotel is fair. It is near the beach and takes ar...
Near by Shizuoka station only 5 min on foot. Near by shopping area. Very good location. The staff speak english and very nice. When I have arrived on the check-in date at 11.00 am the staff allow me to early check-in. The hotel room is clean and nice.
Actually I didn't spend much time at hotel, as long I walked around Hamamatsu or Shizuoka for meeting friends. At hotel I stay just two nights. It was good.
The hotel is far from Hakone and Gotemba. We got lost on our way because we didn't expect it to be far from Gotemba but upon arrival the staff were so accommodating and friendly that it melts our fatigue. We ask for a few favors from them and they comply with out extra charge, they were even sympathetic that we got lost. I would say that for a 3 star hotel the service ...
- I like this hotel very much, so I would say the pricing is good value for its services. - Location-wise, the hotel is about 10 mins walk from the Izu-Hokgawa station. And the station is about 2 - 4 hours from the Tokyo station depends on if you missed the limited JR express train which is covered by one of the JR passes. - The room is an old-fashion japanese style ro...
This hotel is in a great location, being walking distance from the Shizuoka JR station and accessible from that station via an underground tunnel (with the exception of about 10 metres at the end). The rooms are much bigger than I expected and are well maintained. I was most impressed that when we were stuck in Shizuoka for an extra night due to a typhoon, the staff se...
This hotel was easy to find after checking at the tourist office in the train station. It is under 10 minutes walk from there. The room and bed was quite small and the bathroom adequate for our 7 night stay but everything clean. There is a coin operated laundry on the 2nd floor and a restaurant near reception which we did not use. There is a very nice walk to be had alon...
I was so careless that i wrongly booked a smoking room . I quickly go to counter to change room but it was full house on the weekend . The staff passed me a spray also in the room it has a Sharp Ion air purifier machine and we opened the window to pass thru the night . One of the staff which is not good in English , he used a translator gadget to help to understand w...
Cheap places to stay in Shizuoka Prefecture
This property accepts only one group per night at the moment, so you are the only guest(s). The laid-back owner lives in the property and runs bar at night at part of the 1st floor. He's such a surfer and runs a side business, he's not always there and sorry for the inconvenience. Feel free to use kitchen, utensils, fridge, microwave, toilet, etc. and instant coffee/...
We love this Hostel...my friend and i stayed in Nasubi before we went hike the Fuji mountain and it was the best place we could ask for. the location only 10 minutes walk from the Fuji station from there we can take the bus to Fujinomiya trail 5th Summit. the hostel is really clean, typical Japanese traditional house with modern shower and toilet. the dorm room was ver...
We are in Japan for 3 months and I doubt we will find a better place to stay. The property itself is historically interesting and in a great location - about 6 minutes walk from the train and bus station, 2 blocks from the waterfront and very close to restaurants, supermarkets (we thought that Max was best) and shopping areas. The hostel is immaculately clean and well...
Despite this hostel is on the top of a hill some meter away from the town center, it's worth the effort to climb the hill. It has wonderful views of Itō town and Omuroyama mountain. the cleanness, the friendly staff, the private onsen and its prices make this place a paradise for low budget travellers. I would say it's the best place to explore Izu peninsula and enjoy ...
- the staffs were very nice and can speak english. they were very kind to me that I booked on the wrong date but they change the dte without charge. - you can see Fuji mountain from the back of the hotel. - you have to rent some amentities like towel... - there are free drink and fridge for you to keep the foods. - there is a massage machine that is the best of all. -...
this is the guesthouse , owners live in the house. traditional home. no meal included . the owners speak broken English. The owners are very nice. they try their best to help you finding information. They even take us to the supermarket, the close by attractions for free.
Location is a bit far from JR Shizuoka station, but walkable. JR pass usable on Shizuoka station, and then you can explore the area. Shops/eateries in Shizuoka Station, and Sunpu Castle Park is walkable from hotel. Lots of bread available for breakfast.
Really loved this place, I do t like to spend a lot of money when staying in hotels and hostels but this was one of the cheapest I could fine and it was well worth the price, lovely staff, clean, friendly, good English, kitchen, super fast WiFi ! I recciming staying here if your an adventurer, traveller or passing through for a relaxing quiet night
Really convenient and clean. Would love to stay here again. The onsen is small but with restricted times but still great. Where else can you stay at for that price with an onsen?
-very good location with JR & train station near by. (2-3min by walk only) -easy to shop. with malls/supermarket/ convinence stores all around (2-3 min by walk) - many choices of restaurant (some 24 hr) nearby -affordable price meeting all your basic needs -quick response from staff -bed mattress very comfortable (that i plan to purchase the same brand for my home) - h...
The stuff were very kind and patient, though his English was not good. Near the hotel are bus stop and restaurant and about 2km away from the ocean park
Nice hotel with reasonable price. Would recommend!
Near by Shizuoka station only 5 min on foot. Near by shopping area. Very good location. The staff speak english and very nice. When I have arrived on the check-in date at 11.00 am the staff allow me to early check-in. The hotel room is clean and nice.
The hotel is very near to Shimada station. Everything is great in this hotel. They even serve Japanese breakfast in the morning. Nothing fancy but good enough. The only cons is that the staffs do not speak fluent English. But you are not there to mix with them. Just to have a place to stay. Highly recommended! p/s: The town is quiet. Pay a visit to their local big supe...

Actually I didn't spend much time at hotel, as long I walked around Hamamatsu or Shizuoka for meeting friends. At hotel I stay just two nights. It was good.
There is an outdoor bath overlooking the ocean and a hot rock bed to lay on. The best capsule hotel experience I’ve had. The location is difficult to get to but the staff will pick you up at a nearby station and drop you off. Worth it for the view.
The hotel is very old but it's the best i can find around this city with this price. It's convenient for you to stopover spending a night here just to have a sleep. There's Aeon mall nearby with a walk distance. don't expect much. They don't have a food or onsen here. Just a small hotel.
Stayed at Hinodeya for 3 nights (4-7 Mar 2015). At first glance, the facilities are a little old and dated, shared bathroom and toilets but the whole place is kept very clean. And the longer I stayed, the more I intereacted with the owners, the charm of this little ryokan deepened. Come to this ryokan if you desire warm attentive yet non-intrusive service. Tetsuya-san ...
The location so very good, walking distance to hamamatsu train station, shopping mall, supermarket and restaurant. Highly recommended!
The hotel is very old but is clean. The hotel is about 1 km from Ito Train Station. The staff was very friendly, he gave the map of the town and suggested places to dine. The toilet in the room is Japanese squat toilet.
This hotel was easy to find after checking at the tourist office in the train station. It is under 10 minutes walk from there. My boyfriend and I wanted to take a quick weekend motorcycle ride to get out of the city. I booked this hotel for the price, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The view from the 2nd floor was gorgeous. The bath was open air and had a lock so it could be used privately. The room was very clean nd very big for Japan. The fact that it had a full kitchen would have bee...

I have mixed feelings about the booking. It's not a room, you book a whole house!! While booking, the price for 2 person is 7800 yen, at the place I was told the price is 7800 yen per person + 1000 cleaning fee (per person?). I refused to pay it, and just paid 9000 yen (7800 + 1000, didn't get 200yen change, just saying). 7800 yen per person may be a fair price, but i...
It is recommended for reasonable. Staffs attitudes are very good. Breakfast was good but need to be more Japanese menu.
I came to visit Mount Fuji, but was pleasantly surprised by this little hotel just next to the train station. Everything is clean, well set out, and organized. Great room for the price. But for me, the highlight was the staff. My Japanese is horrific, and I needed to figure out getting to Fuji, leaving some luggage, and picking up some extra stuff for the trip. The yo...
price cheap like 5 star hotel very recommended
Fuji Green Hotel was fantastic value for money. As a solo traveller who tends to stay in hostels I had booked a couple nights here purely because of the lack of availability of hostels closer to Mt. Fuji and it was the cheapest option. For a private room it's a really good price. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for climbing Mt. Fuji it is a little far from the...
The bed in the single room was a semi-double and the room was relatively spacious for a single room. Breakfast was included and had a wide variety in buffet style. The hotel also offered happy hour drinks from 5pm to 8pm, and ranged from sake, brandy, wine. Overall, it more than met my expectations.

Excellent location, right on the beach. Draw your curtains in the morning and you can see beautiful sunshine shining on a great looking stretch of sand. Excellent staff very helpful, especially the Australia educated lady at the front desk with excellent English. Goods Japanese options at the hotel and few pice pizza placed within a short walk from the hotel
This is a great place to relax. It is a huge place with limited number of guests rooms. No crowds like what you see at Tokyo or Fuji. The room I stayed is facing a golf course. I wished I would skip Tokyo and Fuji and came here directly for a week of relaxation. Having your own transport is a must to fully enjoy.
Strongly recommend this hotel: 1) It costs only 10+ minute if walking from railway station. 2) If take a taxi to this hotel when checking in, the hotel will pay. And the staff sent my wife and me to railway station with his car the day we checked out. 3) The staffs of the hotel were very kind and friendly. 4) Not all staffs speak English, but there were some speak fl...
Chose this hotel because of excellent review, price and location. If you missed the last hotel shuttle ( like us from Izu-Atagawa station then you can still walk to hotel (< 10 min and down hill) with luggage from hakkawa station though there are few stairs when exit the station. In addition, the outdoor seaside Hakkawa Onsen is right next to the hotel (free for ho...
I stayed with a friend, and everything was perfect. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was all friendly. The bath was great too. And the breakfast was the best. The hotel is close to the train station and the beach. I am glad I chose this hotel.
Location is far from station but the service from the staff is excellent. The Staff at Hotel Concorde Hamamatsu provide lots of information for tourists spot and local hot spot, even though they cannot speak English. You can feel they are trying their best. Room is clean and the room is totally acceptable for the view/price/size. I will rate it 8 out of 10 due to loc...
I live in Japan not far from the hotel so am familiar with Japanese hospitality and cleanliness. My friends - visiting from Germany, the UK and Canada - were blown away by the place... they loved it. The lobby lounge is very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a modern style, and has a panoramic ocean view. You can relax here with a freshly brewed coffee (free o...
We went here for our honeymoon it was amazing! From the moment you come in the make you feel like a king! They take care of you 100% the food it’s AMAZING. I completely recommend this hotel! We will come back for sure
Very clean and well-decorated hotel. Beds are comfortable. Although the area isn't the best for sight-seeing, it's close to Tokyo station and very easy to get around. Tokyo station is also fun to visit with lots of good food. I would definitely stay here again.
Though the hotel is a bit far from train station, everything is good. Staff are all very helpful and patient, dinner and breakfast are incredibly tasty and full. The view at the hot spring is very nice, I could enjoy the view of the sea, moon and stars. I also got souvenir from the hotel. It was a very pleasant stay at this hotel and I would recommend to everyone.
The staff was amazing and made our stay the best it could be. We mostly enjoyed our view from our room and the private bath tub and the food of course. There is not much else to do around here, but that was totally fine with us. Amazing experience, thank you!
I stayed at Tenyu for one night. It's perfectly located with a magnificent view to the rocks in the sea. The public onsen has the same view. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The hotel staff made my experience unforgettable. Mika is a lady who works at the hotel and she was super helpful with giving me information and making me feel welcome. She went an extra mile fo...
Pleasant stay though a bit pricey... Surrounding is a ghost town with very few attractions... But would recommend for the traditional feeling of the hotel. Food is great, Onsen is very relaxing near the river.
Start from Shuttle bus. Driver friendly and helpful. Check in process. Well prepared for our arrival. Rather than stand at counter, we completed the whole process by sitting at desk with a very kindly speaking staff. Staff took us to our room, checked and changed the pajama size for my little one while explaining all hotel facilities. Dinner is a highlight. What...
Incredible location with seafront view. Staff took care of our needs (we had a 2 years old child). Hotel even provided lunch take-out boxes!
This hotel is located next to the ocean, very good view! Although it is quite far away from public transportation, but they could reimbursement the taxi fare to you if you go there from the JR station. Our room has a private Onsen at the balcony facing the ocean, very comfy and relaxing. Free drinks and noodle are available in the hotel which you never get hungry.
We arrived, having booked a standard ("small") double and were offered an upgrade (not free) to a larger double. We accepted, and were glad of that, as the upgrade room offered a much bigger space. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. We used the indoor onsen a couple of times. The only small disappointment came when we bought tickets to the MOA on our last...
Unforgetable stay at the city, very valued for money,in the central city very near the train station near shopping malls and bars resto, good staff, clean room, i really love to come back and stay again on this hotel, thr view at night was unforgetable you can see the whole city at night , internet wifi access room, english newspaper everyday, buffet breagfast at normal ...
We wanted to stay in the Izu peninsula and this was the most affordable place. The view is great from the rooms and the common spaces. The town is small and cute, but there’s not a lot to do, other than some fine restaurants and nice shops of hanging hina dolls. The onsen is ok, the view from there was not as awesome as I expected. Hotel staff was nice but language bar...
A modernised Japanese style hotel, all flooring is covered by tatami and therefore just walk around the hotel with bare foot, socks are also provided. Spacious room with comfortable beds, suits with bathroom and toilet. We didn't use during our stay because the private Orsen room is more spacious for shower with more than enough amenities. There are 4 private Orsen Roo...
The hotel felt really big and comfortable. You can think it was a little old, but the atmosphere was really good and the service was excellent. When I was guided into the room, it was really amazing inside and we were really satisfied. The spa was bigger than I thought, and the water was really good. Breakfast is very delicious and I am really satisfied with their serv...
We were heading to Shizuoka and decided to take a detour to Izu peninsula to experience this ryokan. Overall, we had a good experience here staying for 1 night. The Onsen (we've tried a handful) has one of the most scenic views facing the pacific ocean. The amenities / toiletries of their bath house had generous selection of facial products, facial cleansers, etc. An...
Overall is ok. But the night that I stay in this hotel they don't have non smoking room. We cannot stand for the smell but the staff was very nice enough to bring in a dehumidifier to try to remove the smell (even tho didn't really help). And I cannot remember if the booking page already notify me about the room is a smoking room. At least I didnt know about this...

We booked the Japanese style room with in-room hot spring. Before check in I thought it was quite expensive. But the good facilities, fantastic services and great Japanese food proved me wrong. Clean Big rooms Service was great Food was nice Unlimited Hagen Daz ice cream Free shuttle to and from station (within 5 min drive) ...etc Never rated any hotels before but this one is worth the time to rate 5-star on everything.
Absolutely gorgeous property in a beautiful location. Of note however, the swimming hole is available for use for surcharge and the main dining room which is quite pricey is very casual in terms of what is allowed in attire.- most diners were still in their golf clothes .
Excellent hospitality, scenery, and most of all - best food! Worth every penny. Would definitely stay again! Thanks for the wonderful experience, Hamanoyu!

The staffs very nice and helpful; the restaurant prepare the Japanese dinner and breakfast very well, the resort just near the sea and located at the hill, the view from the hotel is really great! The wine bar provide various choice of wine including spirit and grapes wine, I can relax and have a drink in the wine bar.
You only get to dine in the water balcony if you choose the largest room of the 4-room hotel. Stunning view from room and balcony. Went there for our wedding anniversary and had a nice time. Need to book a time.to use private onsen, which is nice a.big looking at a courtyard.
- Food is truly superb, esp the sashimi plate and barbecued abalone. Basically the best Japanese food I have ever had in my lifetime. - Location-wise, not too convenient for travellers and would take one hour of bus ride from the nearest railway station 修善寺駅. But the hotel would arrange for transportation to and from the nearest bus station. - Super-friend staff and ex...
