Where to stay in San Jose Province
San Jose Province hotels & accommodations

The first room I was in had a poor air conditioning unit and the wing was seemingly an older section of the hotel. The front desk upgraded me to a newly renovated section of the hotel, which very nice. The food was fairly good in the restaurant. All employees in the entire facility were kind and accommodating as well. The neighborhood has quite a few shops and a few re...

We ended our Costa Rica trip here, and loved coming to a modern, clean, beautiful place. The surrounding area is old, and a bit dirty (it's downtown San Jose), yet this is a little Oasis of greatness right in the middle of everything that you can see in San Jose (as there's not too much to see). Staff was very friendly, and the Hotel itself was quite nice.

They didn't have a standard room ready so they upgraded us to business class. The staff spoke good English and were helpful when we asked them for assistance. We ate at the resturant and the food was superb. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

we stayed for a total of 8 nights at holiday inn aurola and we would go there again anytime. it is probably be the best hotel at this price in downtown san jose. our stay was a pleasure from start to finish. we had a corner room, with great view over san jose. the bed was excellent. one of the best i slept in so far.

Hyatt Hotels are always nice, but I was truely empressed with this one. It was located in a great plaza with lots of nice restaurants and other facilities nearby. Everything was excellent except that the orange and pineapple juice at the breakfast bar was not made from fresh fruit and tasted terrible!

other than finding parking for this hotel (which was probably our own fault) out stay was wonderful. we stayed on good friday and so naturally everything in san jose was shut down but we still managed to have a great night. the food at the restaurant was fabulous and the customer service was top notch! would def stay at the tryp again!!

Friendly new hotel. There are a lot of different types of restaurants on walking distance. It isn't close to the city center of San Jose. That will take about 25min/$25-$30 by taxi. To start/finalize a trip to San Jose it is a perfect place to choose.

This is a reasonable hotel and decent enough place to stay for one night. We used it to get to the domestic Nature Air terminal early the next morning. Breakfast is offered by Denny's and is an American affair. When we arrived there was some sort of tournament going on which meant the place was full of adolecent youths... and can get pretty loud with the Casino there. ...

I respect Ester for running her operation all by herself, it's a lot of work, she's also a nice woman. She was very helpful to me when I needed something done I couldn't do myself. Her house is large and well kept. Very good location if you need access to Escazu. Very modern small city with all amenities. Good value for the money.

super friendly staff that was more than willing to help out whenever I asked. I stayed in the single room which was clean and comfortable but had a kind of musty smell to it but it is an old building. They offer coffee in the morning and it is attached to a really yummy restaurant called The Corner - definitely stop by for breakfast you will not be disappointed. Ki...

The hostel is fine, staff very friendly, the place is clean and has a chill vibe about it. I don’t however, recommend the airport pick up service. After two flights and about 14 hours of travel time, the guy in charge of my airport pick up was nowhere to be found.I had to go through all the names on the drivers’ boards twice. After which, I stood in a corner feeling str...

This hotel is a good option for those on vacation, mainly if you travel with your family. Location is good, since it's on a walking distance to downtown. Also nice to have a swiming pool and free internet. However, it's not a good option for business travelers: too noise. If you need a comfortable bad, also not the best option.

The Fleur de Lys is a whimsical hotel with old world charm. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to assist. I arrived Friday afternoon and was helped by the front desk agent. I forget his name but he was quite helpful. He showed me how to get to downtown area by map and then when I asked about making tour reservations after the tours dept was closed he called ...

We have stayed here three times now, and absolutely love this place. We will not stay naywhere else in San Jose. No, it is not close to the airport, but it is worth it! The taxi ride is a quick one anywhay, and for a much better quality place to stay in San Jose, for a great price, this is the place. The architecture is amazing, the rooms are spotless, and the staff ar...

Good: Nice Size spacious good bed, good furniture room. nice and clean. Breakfast is ok. I was picked up by staff at airport. NO HOT Water in SHOWER, unless you are ok with it. Good clean toilet, big bathroom standing shower. Windows, Safe case. BAD" Staff does not speak English. At really worse location. I was only in the entire hotel on Sunday 5/30/16, Saturday 5/2...
Cheap places to stay in San Jose Province

A sweet family run this place and i felt very welcome there. I had a large room that was very clean and had good WIFI. There were plenty of bathrooms with new facilities and the hotel is very central and very safe. I'll definitely stay again when in San Jose.

Booked 3 nights here arriving on Thursday. Overall, the hotel is clean with very helpful staff , but very limited English. The breakfast very tasty with 5 selected choices. Located near downtown walking street 5 blocks away. Only downside is the hostel is located next to a rail line. On weekdays, the train rolls by starting early morning continues hourly and my be bo...

Don’t let the location put you off, an Uber into Escazu is $2.50, $10 to the airport & Uber Eats will deliver to the door. We had the family room & as no one else was in the other rooms, we had the whole place to ourselves. Big kitchen, large dining area & huge lounge area with leather sofas & a wrap around balcony with incredible views of San Jose. Staff guy is friend...

It is a small simple hotel very close to the main pedestrian street and across from the National Museum. This is a perfect place to travelers who are travelling on budget, but still want a secure place to stay near the center. The front door is always closed so no stranger can enter. The lady who owns this place is super nice and helpful. For breakfast you will get dip...

This place is a gem. All apartments front into a beautiful courtyard filled with attractive plants, birds and fountain. The rooms are huge and have kitchen appliances and implements so that you can prepare your own food. Modern, clean and artistically decorated. Excellent location opposite jade Museum. Very helpful and friendly staff. English spoken too. Thank you. ...

It was a fantastic, accepting hotel. My adult daughter and I found the staff very helpful and kind. The many lounging areas, pool and hot tub were comfortable and user friendly. Not far from the airport. A must stay for a unique introduction to Costa Rica.

These cabins are certainly very much on the basic and rustic side, but otherwise comfortable and good value for money. On the plus side you will find yourself completely immersed in nature, particularly in the three cabins furthest from the road. On the downside, for those 3 cabins you need to go down a steep dirt road you will struggle on without 4WD. Also, it is c...

I must say if any one knows that meaning of Hospitality it is the manger here. Don Diego as I learned he was named, was one of the most helpful people I have ever come in contact with. He was more than willing to make tons of calls to find us a ride to Manuel Antonio Beach. After we figured this mess out we found very little internet access in our room, only to be give...

The food was absolutely terrible, one of the worst restaurants I've been in CR, and I've been to plenty. 8000 colones for a "casado" that was mediocre, when you can pay 3000 in a small restaurant anywhere and get much better quality. The bathroom smelt of urine, and the room was not well cleaned. I am not coming back, that's for sure.

Hotel Suites Cristina is a lovely boutique hotel in a safe area. The room I had was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast buffet is tasty and the hotel staff are friendly and professional. -- Unfortunately, however, the free transfer from San Jose Airport was a bit of a hoax. I ended up having to take a taxi to the hotel, which was a bit of a hassle.

I called the hotel twice before booking with you Jose Vega was so professional. He found us a room even though the hotel was very full. I liked working with him. Idalie at the front desk was wonderful I forgot my phone charger and she helped me find one to use. She even offered to let me use hers. I so appreciated her. When checking in. Roger helped us with lugga...
