Traveling to Mexico? Find Quintana Roo State hotels

This resort is beautiful! Absolutely loved it! However, my friend and I rented a room to only stay 7 hours in before we had to return home to the states. We were told that we could use our credit cards or Pesos to make purchases before we checked in and when it came down to it, we were only allowed to charge to the room which we did not want to do do to a group of us were paying separately. When attempted to get a cab for my friend we were harassed and questioned if we were checking out. I should be able to come and go from my hotel room without the third degree... the room is paid for, you have your money... it's none of the resorts business what I am doing as I come and go. They charge per person for guests who come and visit. I do like the resort, but it was a hassle. Def not like a hotel in the States. They question everything!

The resort itself is beautiful. Rooms are nice, pools are nice, staff is very nice as well. The food is terrible. My boyfriend and I don't drink so we were looking forward to the restaurants, pool side service, and room service. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was the best food that we had during our stay. The restaurants however, are a joke. The grill is diner food at best. I looked forward to dining at the lobster house from the day I booked this trip. I took one bite of the lobster and it was inedible. It was the most dry and over cooked lobster tail I've ever had. I have NEVER met a lobster that I didn't like until that night. The manager offered to make me a new one, which was nice, but after two hours of disappointing food I had had enough and we went back to our room and ordered room service which was sub-par at best. The "french" restaurant was the best and that's not saying much. Not worth it for people who don't want to just drink their vacation away.

Best trip to Cancun,hotel staff was amazing, food at hotel restaurant's was amazing. Location was amazing. Room had a beautiful view,best time to go NOT CROWDED NO SPRING BREAKERS..only stated 2 days but will definitely be back.The pool area was clean water was warm,staff was very attentive ,cant say enough about about it,definitely a diamond in the ruff..Alot of reviews talk about the beach and pool being crowded,I can see that if its a busy time of season for the hotel, but we had plenty of options..Very best time to go..We went on our anniversary, even room service was great, fast,all you needed and more..it was a great choice..very happy to have stayed here..will definitely be back

Overall, I had a blast time stayed at this hotel. I wish the room was more clean and updated. The bathroom shower was bad. We can’t even turn on full water or else water will splashes all over the floor. When I booked the hotel I wanted a King bed for me and my husband. But we end up with double beds and no views. Beside the room , I love the food and the staffs was very friendly and kind. I wouldn’t mind coming back. Price of the hotel was reasonable for all inclusive.

My girlfriends and I stayed here, and WOW we were impressed! Live Aqua is the best all-inclusive resorts I've visited. All of the staff were so friendly and courteous. I usually get bored of the food choices at resorts, but not this one. The selection of restaurants is fantastic for variety. The portions of the food were perfect, so you can try a bit of everything and not be wasteful. Loved all the food we had, I wish I could have eaten more! The breakfast buffet is phenomenal with lots of tasty options, a smoothie bar, and a Mimosa & Bloody Mary bar)! The fashion mall across the street is convenient for shopping and currency exchanges. Would definitely recommend this resort, and will be back again!

This is one of the best resorts in the hotel zone. The room was extremely clean, and the staff was always polite and welcoming. The one thing that sets this resort apart from others is how great the good is. There were at least 7 restaurants to choose from, on top of the cafeteria and sushi bar located in the lobby. The drinks were great. Some bartenders poured a little heavier than others, but on average everything was great and exceeded all expectations. This was my 2nd time visiting and I can't wait to return.

Very clean and the food was great. Lots of restaurants to choose from. We called before we booked our trip and asked about what type of liquor they served. They told me it was all good quality liquor but come to find out the hard way that we needed to upgrade our stay. It was still good but not the best. The beach was terrible. Rooms are very nice and clean . Oh forgot room service is not free they charged us for order food.

This was our second stay at Hotel Marina El Cid and we loved it as much as the first time. This time we were a much larger group (31 people) and the staff were always helpful and friendly when accommodating us. I enjoyed everything about this resort, especially the gym and it’s trainers. Having the opportunity to do yoga almost everyday was fantastic for me. Dalia is an amazing (and patient) instructor. Bottom line a great place to visit.

While the location of the resort is steller the rooms are not. The first 4 nights we had a room with a swim up pool. I at first thought the bites all over my body were from the mosquitoes, but I was horrified to learn that they were actually from bed bugs in the mattress. Our next three nights were in a room with an ocean view. Again the location and the view was breathtaking, however the mold in the room was not. If fact on the wall in the bathroom I took pictures of the 3 inch tall mushroom growing if full view. Overall this could be an outstanding resort, however with the lack of cleanliness and bed bugs I would caution anyone from staying as it is unsafe for your health for you to do so.

The reason for choosing this hotel is because I was under the impression that this is an all exclusive adults only hotel. But we were surprised that the hotel was swarming with children. Nothing wrong with it but just false advertisement and misleading information. It was even briefed to us that it is an adults only hotel. Jacuzzi was one we were looking forward to was overcrowded by children. Beach also starts to smell like sewage.

The beach is absolutely world class. Amazing sand and clear water. This alone makes the Grand Oasis worth it, but then you add in the 1/4 mile long pool, day parties/concerts, and views of Cancun from the Pyramid and the beach deck are breathtaking. The scene during March and April (Spring Break) is for singles looking for a good time. The bars and pool are always full of fun people. Not recommended for couples or families during this time at least. Stay away from the two Oasis Lite restaurants at either end of the property. These are the cheaper restaurants for people who did not pay extra for the Pyramid. It is easy to go there because they seem to always be open, but there is A LOT better food at the Pyramid only restaurants especially White Box and the buffet restaurant above White Box.

We've been to the Riviera Maya close over 30 times. Unico 2087 is #1 for the region and of all the places beach vacations we've taken for comfort, value and convenience (includes French Polynesia, Hawaii, and Thailand. Easy short flight from US for us. Luxurious rooms with very comfy beds. Stylish resort. Beach was completely cleared of seaweed when we visited in late August/early Sept. Minimal seaweed when we were there earlier this year for NYE celebration. We enjoyed the beach everyday. Dining here is the best. Cueva Siete is our favorite. Delicious complex flavors highlighted by the stellar service from Carlos and Waldo. Sushi/Sashimi at Mura is super fresh and delicious and Andres was also great. As was the sushi chef (I didn't get his name). Cocktails & dinning were delicious at all venues. The quality of our dining experiences more than cover the cost of our stay. Excellent value. Thank you also to Mr. Angel Garcia for making our 20th memorable.

We had fun at this hotel. The liquors they use are the good ones and they don’t cheap out. Compare to other all inclusive hotels I stayed before. As soon as you enter the lobby there is a bartender that can make drinks for u. (On certain hours, I think he is there 1pm to 4pm)There is a selection menu.We loved the uptown funk!! And all the other restaurants were superb! My only problem is I had so much fun with the food and drinks that I gained weight!! A lot of bars also to order ur fave cocktail. There is a lot of things to do that we only went once outside of resort. We even did a music video!

Gorgeous views of the ocean from the room! The staff and butlers were the best part of this resort! They really add a level of personalized service that make you feel like royalty while you are there and take the time to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Our assigned butlers were Ingrid and Erika and they were outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure our Anniversary was very special. Two other butlers, Luiz and Jesus, stood out to us as really going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Jesus even brought my husband his favorite chips that were not available at the resort! He stopped and got them on his way to work. The Activity staff are awesome -Jose, Jimmy and Eddi! They made our stay fun and entertaining. Make reservations for what you really want to do. Our favorite find was La Isla for breakfast (pool side). I recommend their French toast with eggs made to order and bacon. Michael Jackson, Signus Band and Fireshow were our favorite shows.

Amazing location on the most beautiful beach, which is just steps away from the hotel and pool. Everything is very clean, rooms pool area food areas and the beach. Food was great always something different and always a lot to choose from. Great night and evening entertainment the staff is amazing so friendly and always trying to help out to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Cocktails better than you would get them in any other restaurant or bar !!!!! We traveled with small children and they loves the kids club and playground area and kids pool the staff is so sweet my kids loved them They where very patient and loving. Just amazing we will be back next year !

We stayed at this resort for a wedding. To be honest i didn't really find the hotel or [pool area as beautiful as other hotels on the beach in Tulum. The food was fairly average in the hotel resturants, the buffet breakfast was probably the best though. The drinks were great though! Hotel was clean and well maintained, the rooms were nice but nothing super special. We found the hotel staff were always trying to upsell you - we got a $200 USD voucher to apparently use on hotel facilities but when we went to the desk you were only allowed to spend $30 on the soa, $40 on something else. We were a young couple and so it wasn't really suited for us but it might be better suited for families or older couples. Also the hotel is not near anything on the beach so you can't walk to explore other places you need to get a taxi. And the beach where the hotel is is very rocky so hard to stand in the water. We preferred the beach on the other side (near the hotel Nomade) !

From the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out , you are treated like royalty. Everything was above and beyond expected especially during spring break. This Hotel was amazing quite and relaxing during our entire stay, even tho it was spring break and millions of young kids were having tons of crazy fun outside... not even a peep was heard or seen in our hotel. This Hotel has high security and is perfect centered in the middle of everything. Walking distance to the club's and Amazing bars, lounges and Restaurant. In the middle of amazing beaches like playa Langosta, El Mirador and Playa Tortuga. You can catch the bus R1 OUTSIDE the hotel to take you to catch the ferry to Islas Mujeres. Beach and pool area are amazing!! Food and service is Top Notch. Room Service is Fast and Delicious. The Rooms are super comfortable...Amazing Views and a jet tube to die for. Even tho we didn't use the "Full Kitchen" and Huge "Living Room & Dinning Room" we will be back with our kids soon.

Sunscape is a nice, family oriented resort. There are 3 restaurants, 1 was very good, the other 2 were okay, but nothing great. If you like buffets and eating a lot of the same, then great. We prefer variety and taste to quantity and convenience. The staff is very friendly, and always willing to help...you just may inevitably have to ask a few times in order to get that help. The staff at the dive shop were great, as were hosts / valets helping to secure rides / taxis. My only issue with the resort was that they marketed themselves as something they are not quite. This is first and foremost a family resort, which, while conducting my initial research of Sunscape, was not exactly clear. In retrospect (and fairness after coming home), the use of their pictures on their website paints that picture a family vacation. They fail to show these examples on the website (either intentionally or unintentionally), but painfully clear upon your arrival at the resort.

Food is plenty with great flavours. . Our favourite was Mastogo which served authentic Mx food. We truly appreciated and were wowed by service at the resort.Due to personal reasons we had to cut our visit short by a day. The staff accommodated our special request and agreed to refund. The on-site medical and pharmacy help was prompt and excellent. We felt very safe and cared for. I also recommend Anto from holiday taxis who accommodated our request for really last minute excursion cancellations. Thank you very much team Azulians😀 Overall a great experience and we look forward to seeing you again.
