Traveling to Norway? Find Finnmark hotels

The cabin was basic but adequate for a short stay. It had a private bathroom, shower and small kitchen with fridge. It was novel to us to have wild reindeer roaming around the campsite. The cabins each had a balcony and seating area to be enjoyed on fine days. I liked the brightness in the cabin as some we've stayed in on our travels have been very dark.However, the view looked directly onto a car park of motor homes and the main road to NordCapp, so not the best outlook. There is a large Scandic Hotel complex adjoining the campsite that caters also for tourist bus visitors for meals. Having said that, I,d prefer to stay at this campsite which is about 7 Kms out of town rather than in Honningsvag and there isn't too much of a choice in the area. The staff at Reception were very pleasant. Its a 28km drive to NordCapp from the cabin site. We came for the midnight sun and received the midnight cloud, wind and hail instead - but such is life.

we stopped over for one night in hammerfest and found this hotel to be excellent. the staff were excellent, professional, friendly and always willing to help, going the extra mile to make our stay very enjoyable. we wish we had stayed a night or two longer. one thing we weren't prepared for was the cost of things in norway compared to the rest of europe/scandinavia. it is very expensive.

We reached the hotel very early. Took an expensive taxi ride from Alta airport on Sunday morning. We are told that the room is not ready, therefore we need to wait until 3pm. There is nothing much to do in the area during Sunday afternoon so we had to wait out at the pizza restaurant. We are told that there is a delay thus we are still waiting after 3pm. In the end we are given free upgrade to a bigger room as compensation. The staff are nice and friendly so thats is fine. The room is big and quite clean. Nothing special though. The hotel is near the shopping centre, the northern light church and some super market. As we booked Holmes Husky dog sled, which should pick up up at 4pm, thats why we would prefer to have been given a room to have mnore rest. Other wise, this hotel is good.

We stayed here for one night on our way to North Cape, as this was the cheapest option in the North Cape region. As we came in late October, the reception/restaurant was closed for the winter season, so the owner emailed us his phone number and told us to call him upon our arrival. Our room was right beside the harbour and we were allowed to park our car right outside our room, but the path from the main road to our room was dark and muddy. Our room was small and basic, but was comfortable and clean enough. There is wifi but it is password-protected and we forgot to ask the owner. (The owners are Russian and they speak very basic English.) We were hoping to see the northern lights but we didn't see it because the whole village was illuminated with street lights and the sky was cloudy. The harbour is picturesque though.

We had a lovely stay at the Snowhotel at the end of our Hurtigruten cruise. We stayed in a cabin which having seen the rooms inside the snow hotel, was well worth the money! The cabins are so cosy, perfect spot for trying to spot the Northern Lights. Communication and coordination could be better, dinner is included but this isn't properly communicated before that there is a set time and menu. Also with the tours, we ended up waiting an hour because some other people doing the snowmobile coming from elsewhere were delayed on the bus, but no one had communicated this to those of us staying there so we'd ended up stood getting cold when we could have been enjoying other aspects of the hotel.

We stayed here for a night on our way from Alta to Inari, and this place had the cheapest rate in the region. We had a whole wooden cabin to ourselves as we came in the low season. Our cute wooden cabin has a living room with a simple kitchen (stove, sink & fridge but no oven or microwave), a toilet, and a shower room on the ground floor, and a simple bedroom upstairs. As linens and towels are not included, we brought our own. We also brought our own food and drinks as the nearest shops/restaurants are half an hour away by car. (There is a restaurant in the main building but it was closed in the low season.) We were relieved to have electricity, hot water and wifi in such a remote place. We were hoping to see the northern light but sadly the weather was cloudy and snowing.

Living in tent was totally new experience for us. The tent is super nice and warm, you can look at the sky by staying on your bed. Super nice owner, telling us many stories about wild life and their lifestyle. In the morning, owner will bring 1 big basket of delicious breakfast for us. 1 more thing to highlight, although the booking only mentioned 2 pax allowed, but due to we have 3 and cannot find other accommodation, after discussion a day before owner allowed us to stay 3 pax in a room. She somemore prepared extra bed for us. She is a totally kind person. She helped to pickup us at airport, and helped to send us to next hotel which was 100km away due to no public transport available(public holiday). Highly recommended this dome for public.
