Highly recommend Arne's and Elizabeth's Red Old House - the traditional stay in Tromso!”

Things I like
The house is perfect and cozy. It was very comfortable and spacious. Own kitchen with a wonderful view (have seen aurora twice though the window) was the best thing to have. Working stove, coffee and tea available. The place was warm and had comfortable beds. It had a beautiful artwork and lots of guides. We loved it. Arne was a perfect landlord, he was very helpful and smiling and had wonderful stories. The place was close to center - walking distance with a perfect view from the hilltop. This was the best trip we had and I really recommend the Old Red House if you are looking at a private and cozy atmosphere in city center. The house's number corresponds to the latitude of Tromso :)) which is just a perfect coincidence :)

I recently had the pleasure of staying in a charming apartment in Tromsø, and it was a delightful experience. The apartment, managed by the courteous and helpful Arne, was comfortable, well-maintained, and perfectly situated for exploring the city. A highlight of my stay was the recommendation to visit Blårock Café. This cozy spot offered an incredible burger that easily ranks among the best I've ever had. The venue itself had a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Tromsø, not just for the comfort and convenience it offers, but also for the fantastic local experiences it introduces. A big thank you to Arne for his hospitality and for suggesting such a great dining spot. Looking forward to my next visit!

Things I like
Really cosy & comfortable; a real home. Friendly, helpful host. Nice to be away from the hotels & in a residential area. Supermarket few minutes walk away. Quiet. Well equipped kitchen. We hope to return!
Things I don’t like
The walk up the hill ;-) ;-) ! No, seriously - the only thing I would suggest is somewhere for the person sleeping on the sofa bed to store their clothes.

Excellent stay at the Red Old House”

Things I like
We absolutely loved our stay at the Red Old House. Arne is the best host I have ever met, friendly, kind, and hospitable. He truly cares about providing his guests with an incredible experience in Tromso. The house is authentic with lots of amenities, clean, warm (very necessary in winter in Tromso), and comfortable.
Things I don’t like
Everything was amazing, there is nothing we did not like.
