Mountain retreat at munduk”
There's no lift, so may not be convenient for elderly, unless they don't mind to climb stairs. Had great stay at puri alam bali hotel, best panorama mountain view with balcony, friendly staffs, clean, cozy bed, infinity swimming pool (walk down stairs abt 3 level) overseeing mountains. At night, Lots of stars. Restaurant also had great nature view, but have to climb up stairs to 3rd floor. Glad that i chose Munduk over Lovina, after seeing great review of this hotel from agoda. I booked USD17 for single room.but they gave me a family room , which is far more better than the other standard room, I think, more spacious. I drive from lovina to this hotel at munduk for 1 hour, no regret at all, cause the journey is fun , chill air up the mountain, not advisable to drive at night, can be dangerous. Whereas lovina is hot with nothing special except black sand beach, and more expensive. Marvelous, I'm glad, happy, serene, satisfied , peace , enjoy with this stay in munduk with puri alam bali hotel. Big thank you, I definitely felt that the experience I had with this hotel is compatible with those high end resort, but at much lower price.

Great village, great views, great rooms”
Munduk is a typical Balinese village that has recently seen a bloom in tourism. The Puri Alam Bali hotel is perched on top of the hill with amazing views of the mountains and rice terraces. The staff will give you a map showing you treks that you can do in the area. The waterfall one is a particularly easy and nice one. Breakfast is great, the room is spacious, with a porch with spectacular views and a breeze. There's also a TV and DVD in the room with a collection of movies that you can watch. Very good value for money. Munduk prices are low even in Balinese terms, compared to what it would cost you to get the same conditions in Ubud or the south beaches. Take into account that there's no ATM or money changer in the village, and barely any shops, and only one restaurant, other than the restaurants in the hotels. Also note that in the mountains there are strong winds at night and it can get cold. Especially in the shower, which is open to the outside (with amazing views too). There's no air conditioner in the room, but you don't need one.

Budget hotel with 5 star views and service!”
Puri Alam Bali Hotel was a great surprise for us! At backpacker style prices, we received truly wonderful accommodation and services. The staff are very welcoming and happy to share their extensive local knowledge. We rented a motorbike from them for two days to explore the lakes, the waterfalls and the surrounding areas - highly recommended! The hotel provides you with a hand drawn map of local sights and thanks to them, we were able to see some sights which were well off the beaten track. Some of which became the highlight of our entire trip. They were also very flexible with check out times, so that we could make the most of our time in the area without having to rush back. The room was spacious, clean and warm (it gets chilly in the mountain area) with lovely comfortable seats overlooking the beautiful natural scenery. We sat on the balcony and relaxed while watching the sun go down over the mountains. In the end, because of the caring staff, it felt more like a warm homestay than a commercial hotel. We loved it and when we come back to Bali, we will definitely return!

Incredible Views, Amazing Staff, and Great Room”
We had a wonderful time at Puri Alam Bali. We stayed here in Munduk for 3 nights and it was absolutely worth it - it was a really nice change of pace from the southern part of Bali. The restaurant is very cheap and good quality food, and the staff was very accommodating, whether it was bringing us tea to our balcony, scheduling a massage, or giving us a map for local hikes. When we asked about laundry, the staff said that they have a laundry service, but gladly told us that it might be cheaper to use another spot down the road (however, I would advise you to double check your things and ask to see the weight of your clothes - they told us they weighed much more than the true weight, and then we were missing 2 articles of clothing when we got our clothes back). The pool was also really nice to have, although it was a bit cold outside so we only used it once. We also got a massage here and it was AMAZING. I definitely recommend it. Overall, it was my favorite place in Bali. So beautiful and relaxing, and we spent all of our time either going on hikes to waterfalls or rice terraces, or on the balcony reading with a tea. The hardest part about the trip were the stairs up and down from the room - but the stairs are definitely worth the view!

Great room with a great view and deck”
Great stay in Munduk at Puri Alam Bali. Although the first night the hot water was not working, they attended to this immediately and replaced the system, and by the time we returned from dinner, wonderful hot water. The staff were easy to please and the garden and rooms were clean and tidy.

Beautiful view, good value for money”
We enjoyed our stay at Puri Alam Bali in Munduk. The views are amazing and we could see the valley, mountains, and rice fields from our porch. There was also a large deck to relax on. The room could use some new paint and our bathroom had no ventilation though, but was ok. The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the room got quite warm and muggy at night (due to lack of ventilation). The staff were very friendly and renting motorbike/arranging transport was reasonable through the hotel. The menu is large but many items were often not available, and the food could be fresher. There are many restaurants around though. Overall it was good value for the price, and probably the best views in Munduk.

Exceptional”
I showed up to Munduk without a reservation and choose this place as it was the first place listed in my Lonely Planet book. And it was an amazing stay. The restaurant is an outdoor terrace on the top floor and the sunset was unreal. My room overlooked the pool and because I was only 1 of 2 guests, I felt like I had my own private infinity pool outside my room. The staff was so friendly and helped me with directions to the waterfalls (they provided a map; hard to read, but nonetheless helpful). 2 nights was plenty of time in Munduk allowing a full day to hike the waterfalls. Even though I came during rainy season, it was so worth the visit. And my stay here helped make it worth it. And the food was delicious; I ended up eating all my meals here (and breakfast was included!).

awesome hotel, great views”
I stayed at 7 different hotels in Bali and this is by far the best one. They have very well designed rooms, the views are amazing, and it is a great location. The room was quite spacious and clean. It has balconies with an amazing view. The sunrise can be seen over the mountains, from the room. The tv, hot water and other features were great. There were mosquito nets as well. The maintanance folks and staff were quite helpful. Breakfast was quite nice. They have a restaurant at the top of the hotel with great views. Food at this place is affordable and amazing. Their car parking space is limited though. I would love to visit this place again.

Friendliest staff and best view in Bali ”
I loved this hotel. The service was amazing from the front desk to the rooftop restaurant to the spa to the laundry! Even the drivers they call for you are amazing. The view from the pool and restaurant are unbeatable and the waterfall trek just up the hill was one of the highlights for me in Bali. The only thing is the giant steps to go up and down to the rooms-if you have any knee issues it may be best to stay somewhere with fewer stairs.

Fantastic views, close waterfalls and rice fields”
Great place to explore Munduk. Waterfalls a walkable distance. Rice fields and volcanoes seen from your hotel room. Be prepared for the steps and poor Wifi as can only get in restaurant up 100 stairs.

Good accomodation in Munduk”
the hotel is a good accommodation in munduk. we chose a superior room: the price is right and comfortable room, even a little 'trendy. on the top floor is a beautiful panoramic veranda to have breakfast. for lunch and dinner we recommend elsewhere. we have found good and cheap bamboo warung (krang saris) 200m lower down on the left. overall the hotel is a good choice.

hidden gem ”
this is truly hidden treasure of Bali. Room was comfy, view from the room was superb with infinity pool. You can see the mountain, village and rice terrace from the top. I got room in front of the pool, made me do not want to go anywhere. Good for chilin, relaxing, far away from crowded area. Fantastic stay!

Great hotel with all you need!”
The rooms are spacious and clean, with many amenities (incl. mosquito repellent!). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was also great. The location is ideal for beach-goers. All in all - a great place for a good price!

Good location and value”
Passing through Munduk for the day and night, this was a good place to rest our heads. The rooms and furniture are older but worked out just fine for a nights stay. We left Munduk on our way to Ubud, and hired a local driver. He was EXCELLLENT. If you are looking for a driver I highly recommend a man named Yoman Dewe (081338673831). He runs a homestay, Sunset, across the the street and just down the hill. His english was perfect and was more like a tour guide than just a driver.

Munduk”
This hotel has excellent views. There are a lot of stairs which were quite steep . If you stay at the very bottom near the pool it is a long way to the top of the hotel. The pool steps were clean but the bottom of the pool was dirty. The rooms were clean with a mosquito net which is needed as there were mosquitos and flying ants. Watch out for the Pomerania dog...it bit me on the foot for no apparent reason. Staff were friendly. We did a lovely walk to the waterfall.
