The room is large and it has everything you need as mentioned in the other reviews.
The location is quiet and I did not feel it was unsafe at any time. It is a bit remote but the Esplanade is a 2 km walk or so and it is probably 4 to the center of Cairns.
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a need for an additional bed and they reacted promptly to satisfy our need. They did even more. An excellent experience.
Certainly not a 5 star hotel but a great value for money.

Cairns City Center,Cairns - View on map"i stayed here while transferring to a next day connection flight and found it to be a great hotel. it has everything that you could want out of a hotel in cairns for a short stay. it is only a few kilometers from the main strip of the city and not far from the airport. the hotel itself has everything that you could need for a short stay. excellent food in the restaurand as well as a nice pool to lounge in. it is close to the water and parks as well as being in walking distance from all the restaurants the town has to offer."

Our room was facing the main street and it was noisy due to traffic. If you can, get a room facing the pool as its much quiet.
The hotel is slightly far from the restaurants and the esplanade.
Apart from the noise and the location, this is a great budget friendly hotel."

So many places were dirty , staff were very rude and alot of our belongings were stolen . Bohemia was far above all of the other places n great value for money. We stayed there for a total of three weeks , Wishing we had of found this place when we first came to cairns as it would of saved us alot of stress n we wouldnt of had nothing stolen .I loved the fact that we could hang our clothes on the line n they would still be there the next morning . I highly recommend BOHEMIA resort for ur budget cairns stay."

Cairns City Center,Cairns - View on map"We enjoyed 12 nights at this quiet motel, located close to the airport, a short bus ride to central Cairns and a short walk to the Esplanade.
The beds were comfortable and the servicing of the room was great. It was a bonus having a shuttle bus to the city and the same to the airport on departure.
The pool and barbecue area was very nice. Geoff, Angie and Deborah were all extremely helpful and pleasant. So nice to be able to ask questions about places to see and to have any requests met with a smile. Would definitely stay there again.

Cairns City Center,Cairns - View on map"I've had the best stay at Hilton. The receptionist upgraded me to an ocean-view room (awesome!), and the room was spectacular. The view was excellent, and the breakfast selections were delicious - everything for everyone. I booked all my adventure trips just downstairs near the reception area, and I got to do all the must-do things in Cairns. I got to use the pool, although the gym equipments were quite old and unmaintained. The location of this hotel is awesome - right outside is the harbour and shops/restaurants close by. The staff were excellent - props to the desk staff, breakfast staff, and the nice housekeeping lady. I wanted to just stay in the hotel, but there were lots of things to do while in Cairns - Kuranda, Great Barrier Reef, etc. Staying at Hilton really made my stay in Cairns unforgettable. "

Cairns City Center,Cairns - View on map"Upgraded to larger unit free of charge. Really helpful staff who gave honest opinions about the tourist things (what are not worth the money). Very comfortable and affordable stay (we had infant with us who had plenty of crawling room). A friend who worked a few months in Cairns recommended the Balinese restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised when we found it attached to our hotel. The food at this restaurant is great (I am a foodie). I must admit we normally don't book if a unit is part of a large hotel but I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet our unit was (it was in a corner spot so I can't speak for the other units/room.
The were only about 6-8 parking spots but they were secure parking that you were provided with a pin for. Cairns is so easy to get about without a car so most spots were not used and we were able to park close to our unit. There was a share swimming pool that seemed popular but we didn't have the need for that. We were provided with 5 hrs worth of free Internet use (not wi-fi) for our 1 night stay but we didn't need that either. We certainly mad egos use of a voucher for 2 free drinks for our meals at its restaurant. Overall a very good stay."
