"We loved our stay at the Citybox Oslo in October. We stayed here for 2 nights to tour the city and see the sights. We actually arrived early morning the first day and they were kind enough to allow us an early check in for no additional charge. The room and hotel itself is very modern with all the amenities you would like in a room... modern bathroom fixtures, efficient shower with plenty of hotel room, good wifi, comfortable bed, perfect room temp., etc. Plus the hotel is smack in the middle of Oslo minutes walk away from the metro, train station, tourist sites, etc. What's probably most nice is the lodging price which I consider is incredibly reasonable given the quality of the room and the location of the hotel with respect to the city. Staying here was the perfect end to a long 10 day trip to Europe and we look forward to staying here again in the future."

"This was perfect for a quick stopover as I needed no frills but still needed to be in the middle of everything for my last minute gifts/shopping before returning home. I was originally going to stay at a “no frills” near the airport in Oslo but there really isn’t anything out there. The airport truly is in the middle of nowhere! This hotel was perfectly located in the bustle of Oslo and the staff was super friendly. Keep in mind this is very low cost and therefore do not expect things like a phone in your room or a buffet breakfast. But it was clean, no bugs and nice staff. Close to many restaurants and shops and best of all close to Nationaltheatre metro/train/bus/tram center where you can get to everywhere!"

"We stayed in 3 different hotels in Oslo: this, the Grand Hotel, and Radisson Blu Plaza. While Thon Hotel Opera is not the cheapest (Radisson Blu Plaza is 50 US dollars cheaper), but it's clearly the best. The Grand Hotel is way overrated; beaten by the other two not only in price (by a lot), but also in service. Thon Hotel Opera is truly right outside the airport express (Flytoget) platform, but also offer the best hotel breakfast we had during this Norway trip (3 hotels in Oslo, 4 in countryside). The room is clean, and it's equipped with a large TV screen, great for football game. The choice between this hotel and Radisson Blu Plaza is tough, for the latter is also adjacent to the central station, and the price difference is non-negligible. If we have to revisit Oslo again, however, we'll mostly likely choose Thon Hotel Opera."

"The hotel cannot be in a more strategic location: its main door is perpendicular to the train station's gate and its back door is right inside the station. The room is super clean, modern and elegant. Breakfast is superb except one thing to note: on Sundays the restaurant opens at 7:00, not 6:30, so it's not very convenient for those who need to catch early flights. But all in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and will recommend it to anyone going to Oslo."

"we were in oslo in the days following the bombing. we contacted the hotel direct to ensure it was ok and undamaged. the staff were reassuring not just about the hotel, but also about the safety of oslo in general. the room was large, clean with comfortable beds. the hotel is very central and the windows keep out any street noise. the staff were able to provide excellent instructions in english on using public transport and how to get to major museums and sights. i think the breakfast was substantial and catered for western as well as nordic tastes.
