Amazing Experience ”
I stayed here with my boyfriend and another couple. Not only is the resort beautiful, but the staff is very friendly and fun. There is so many options on what you can do while you stay and the drinks were strong! Tip the staff because they are all working all day every day (literally) not sure when they slept. Also they will make sure you are taken care of if you do. I’d definitely recommend making a reservation at the Italian & Steak house restaurants while there! Also dancing at their disco club was hot, but worth it! Overall the cleanliness and hospitality was incredible and they were all so helpful with any questions.

Stay was nice. -Entertainment/Show every night was really great. -All buildings are near from a pool (there's 3 pool) -The buffet by the lobby was good. It was my go to. But it's such a wait for a drink. If you go to the bar some will say "they'll bring it to your table" and some employees will just give you your drink. Staff was nice though. It just felt like they were short staffed. -You have to make an appointment for the A La Carte restaurant-- worth it! Would recommend the D'Oriental Asian Cuisine. -Cleanliness wise, it was ok not great. Sheets had stains. Restaurants needs to get new furnitures and utensils. -Beach needs to have more shades or hut. Its very limited there. Overall, I didn't hate it. I would stay here again and see would like to see the progress. Have a great trip :>

Enough room for improvement”
Positive: - The Location at the beach with the turquoise water is breathtaking. - The Garden and pool area are beautiful and well cared by all the staff doing a good job on that. - The Spa offers good service and staff is super friendly. - The Hotel staff is always trying to help out. - We booked a room with two single beds and got a room with a big king size. This issue was fixed pretty fast. Negative: - Despite of Covid 19 pandemic and the half booked hotel capacity some drinks were often not available at the Beach Bar and sparkling wine was available in the Restaurant only occasionally. - The in the mentioned in the hotel description mentioned casino and pool tables are not existing. Some speciality restaurants are not open which was disappointing because we booked the place for these. - This hotel can't be recommended in pandemic times because most of Tourists don't wear there face masks and keep the distance in most parts of the hotel. Even if the hotel regulations say so the staff don't reminded the clients to following the rules. -The hotel claims to be a sustainable hotel but our towels were changed daily even if we were not throwing them on the floor and all lights were turned on after the cleaning lady left the room. - The beach is blue flag beach but there is laying some plastic cups around, cigaret butts and used face masks that staff could easily pick up what did not really happened. We always picked it up and throw it away all the time we saw something laying around. - We extended our stay on short notice and even in this hard times nobody at the reception said anything nice like we are happy to welcome you longer and when we asked for 3 pm late check out we were just told that we have to pay 10 usd per hour for that in a half booked hotel. After working for 20 years in tourism industry that is surprising.

Interrupted Relaxation”
My husband and I just completed a 5 day stay at this resort and honestly we were rather disappointed. Pros: the views were amazing, the grounds are beautiful, most of the staff are super friendly and accommodating, and the bartender Santo was AWESOME Cons: we were literally solicited to purchase additional services multiple times every single day by hotel staff, even guilted into a 3 hour time share style presentation by staff asking us to help them feed their children. The VIP breakfast that was promised was the regular buffet breakfast you have anyways, and we could have saved all of us some time had they just told us the cost of the program instead of continually showing us the lackluster amenities. Also not all of the restaurants that are included are open every day, so you'll have to pick and choose your dining experience that night. 2 of the locations weren't open AT ALL! Frustrating to say the least. So between being approached by sales people while I'm in the pool or laying down, eyes closed on a chair at the beach and the lack of availability for us to maximize our all inclusive purchase, it was just disappointing.

Nice beachfront, decent food. Drinks varied from worst cuba libres to good piña coladas. Had to change rooms during our short stay, the first room had a sewer stench in it and electric problems. In the second the AC lost a gallon of water into the room during the night. They charge you additional for wifi and have several options for it, at first we just got told about the most expensive of it.

The staff ant the restaurants were rude and not friendly at all. You could not lay out by the pools or the beaches with constantly being harassed by employees trying to get you to buy promotions and other people walking on the beach constantly begging you to buy their merchandise. The only good thing we the room were clean and the cleaning staff was far nicer that any other employees there.

Terrible customer service ”
Stayed at the club level. Receptionists do not even meet a standard level of mediocre resorts. Unhelpful, unfriendly and super slow. Restaurant at the club was good and wait stuffs were helpful and friendly, food was good but a lobster dish served at dinner was old and my partner suffered from food poisoning for a week. Other restaurants were just decent. Gym is very small for the size of resort and the equipments are old. I don’t think we’ll not return.

Terrible management ”
Photos are deceiving. Facilities and room were not as nice at all. Really loud and a lot of kids. Food was mediocre at best every restaurant. There was a booking issue that was their fault but the management office was really lazy and not willing to deal with it. Wasted half day because of them.

I booked this place after my flight out of Punta Cana was canceled. I was staying at another resort and due to the unforeseen extension, I discovered this place as an option until my new flight departed. I only stayed one night but I feel that this place was an excellent balance between cost and experience. I had an ocean view room which was clean, spacious, had a nice view, and a great location. I can only compare my experience to another resort (Majestic Colonial). I thought the food was better at the Occidental compared to the MC, but the drink options were not as selective. There seemed to be more bar locations at the MC (especially the most important one conveniently located on the beach). I did not have a chance to eat at the reservation restaurants at the Occidental but the lunch and breakfast buffets had a variety of tasty options. I could write more but noticed that there is word limit - therefore overall, it's a good choice.

Amazing Huge all Inclusive Beautiful Resort located in front of a clean beach”
Check in was easy. Asked for a different room. I went with my husband and the room had 2 double beds so got changed to a room with king size. The room was clean had a safe fridge had bottled water soda and beers. There is a bar at the main pool. It’s cool you go thru a light water fall and there’s the bar. Everything was included the shows the food all types of drinks. The buffet each day had different foods for breakfast lunch dinner. Fresh fruits, natural juices and food was very good. They have the step aerobics and Spanish dancing classes outdoors in front of there beautiful beach. Many lounge chairs. The place is kept super clean. There was also foam pool party. That was fun. There is a Club on site that opens at 11pm. The staff are all wonderful and friendly. There is security and employees everywhere I felt safe being a female. There are people trying to sell you timeshares and will say they have a free gift for you then try to pull you in. Just say no and walk away.

We enjoyed our stay. Rooms were comfortable and spacious and were cleaned every day. Staff was very helpful. Room cleaning service was excellent. All waiters were very good. The hotel had 24 hour activities and had very good shows every day including Spanish dance, fire dance, karokee and circus. Also enjoyed beach games, pool activities and Salsa dance classes.

Some good and some bad points ”
Even though check in is at 3 our room wasn’t ready until About 3:45 pm . We requested a large bed when we booked but instead were given two small beds. The room itself was nice. Everything was very clean and the Air conditioning worked well. The pools were beautiful and the beach is gorgeous and has plenty of loungers. The one bad thing was the food . The first two days it was packed with people. It was like the Wild West trying to get through the buffet. People were pushing and cutting in line. By the third day it seemed to clear out and was much calmer. The food itself just wasn’t very good and there wasn’t much of a variety. The choices were limited. The buffet was repetitive everyday . You have the option to make reservations for some of the restaurants. Most were booked but we were able to get the Mexican restaurant one night . The food was not good there either. Overall, the grounds and staff are great but there needs to be more variety at buffet.

Staff not nice at all”
I come to DR often and happened to stay at different resorts but this time this resort will no be our stayed ever again. Horrible service all around except from the cooks at the main buffet, they are very nice and excellent. The lobby staff looks miserable working there not approachable at all. Employees at the pool bar arguing over who has to clean or not in front of guests. Don’t stay in this hotel is you are looking for friendly and nice staff.
