Attention Koreans”

As a college couple, we wanted to save on travel expenses, so we decided to stay at a capsule hotel. First of all, the location is about a 10-minute walk from the station, and there is a 7-Eleven about 5 minutes away. When you receive the key, the locker and sleeping area have the same number. The lockers are located on the basement floor, and there are shower rooms, hair dryers, and powder rooms. However, the lockers are a bit small, so if you have a large suitcase, you may need to leave it at the lobby and go to the capsule when you need something. That's the only downside. The capsules were surprisingly spacious and clean. There are USB charging ports, and you can turn on a mood light before going to sleep. When you check in, you are provided with towels and pajamas in one bag. They change them every day when you check out, so you can use them comfortably (even if you stay multiple nights, you still need to empty the capsule every day, as it follows a daily check-out system). Both my boyfriend and I were very satisfied. The staff were also extremely friendly!

I was able to spend comfortably.”

I made a reservation because of the convenient location. The capsule was clean and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The sleep analysis was also helpful as they checked even the smallest details. I would like to make a reservation again.

Wonderful Stay ”

The location is perfect, we loved the city of Akasaka it was so accessible to 2 subway stations via foot, there is also many restaurants and shops nearby, overall fantastic location. It was super clean and I got a good rest at night. It was not loud like other reviews stated. We did not need earplugs. The locker room is another story, it is very cramped. Especially since most of the women staying will most likely have an abundance of belongings(even if oversized bags are placed in the front). Also, there is not enough sinks(ready stations) for the women’s B1 floor. Getting ready in the morning to get out before check out time was a hassle (especially since the AC is not cooling in any way and there are more than 20 women trying to use the sink area to out makeup on). The showers were very good, the partition between shower and the entrance is very helpful to not get clothes wet. Lastly, there needs to be an improvement with the air conditioning in the pods and in the room. It is a very humid and hot environment, I think that if the AC situation is corrected, I would most be much happier to stay here again. I loved the pods concept and the whole building is well organized and is very pretty.

Sister Duo Travelers from US on Thanksgiving Holiday Week”

One of the experiences that my sister and I (young adults) were really excited about was trying out Japan’s famous capsule hotels. I heard that it was a relatively affordable and comfortable hotel arrangement in Tokyo for a few days. We arrived in the late afternoon and it was not difficult to find nine hours Akasaka sleep lab. It was exactly prime location in the middle of Tokyo where we were planning to do a speed run of all the major landmarks and sightseeing places. The subway station was conveniently located nearby. Pros: - Affordable, clean, and straight-forward housing arrangements - Other guests were respectful and clean for the most part - Sleeping capsules and rooms were separated by Male and Females - Stressing on how clean and well-maintained the facilities were considering the amount of bodies coming and going throughout the day - especially in the common rooms, toilets, shower rooms, etc. Some cons (just from my me and my sister’s personal experience): - Something that we learned very quickly about traveling and being in Japan is that everything is relatively small and I would say not curvy/plus-size friendly. We are talking particularly just about the locker rooms and showering facilities. When you check in, you are encouraged to go to the Basement-level where the shower rooms and lockers are (again separated Male/Female) to shower and change into sleeping clothes. Since this is a capsule hotel and the conservation of space makes ton of sense, the lockers are understandably very small, lengthwise, and can just about fit a medium-sized luggage on its skinniest side and a backpack. The lockers are side-by-side, and because of this, you can imagine how getting things in and out of your luggage, prepping your things for shower, etc. would be difficult with 15+ others sharing this teeny-tiny space. I would say the only way to get around this is to be strategic and use the shower room/locker facilities during non-peak hours (peak hours are obvious
