Nice location with good ambiance. Lots of well thought little touches everywhere, plenty of comfortable places to sit and work quietly. Well maintained functional kitchen. 2block walk to shops and restaurants the village, 1hr walk to a very nice swimming hole in crystal clear river. We loved our room, it had lovely natural light, 4 pillows, and soft warm lighting for relaxing in the evening. It gets cold at night, but they provided extra blankets upon request.

There was a good kitchen and my room was extremely cheap and comfortable. No bed bugs! Has hot showers, bathroom cleaned every other day or so. The common area is really nice and it’s a good place to stop and relax for a few days. Lots of nature. Close to Tapantí and Quetzal National Park. There’s also some local hikes, if you want. By bus you can get to Cartago within an hour.

Hard to do anything super exciting without a car or expensive transport.

Peaceful great value place in Orosi .”

Peaceful , lovely, secured place to stay . Great value. The place has all you need to quite and peaceful stay : Private rooms , dorms , hot showers , laundary service, great WiFi , full kitchen , home guitar and Jacuzzi 🥰. I enjoyed staying there and looked for so many activities surrounding the place included : Mineral water pools ( highly recommended ) , coffee tour , hiking and dinning around . I slept like a baby !!

It was great”

The room that I was in was on the first floor. While it was small, it was still very comfortable. There was a single bed, an expansive arm chair, a small refrigerator, and an armoire. There was a shared bathroom at a bit of a distance. The room was very reasonably priced. There was a communal kitchen, which I took advantage of. That worked out very well. The hostel was very conveniently located. It was only three blocks to a local super market and ATM machine. Three or four blocks a different way were the town football field, a small ancient church, and a nice little cafe. The location was exactly what I had wanted. The hostel is owned and run by Toine, a Dutch fellow and his wife, Sara, a Canadian of Dutch descent. They both were very friendly, helpful and outgoing. They are well-established, having been there for 24 years.

I wish the shared bathroom had been a little bit closer.

Amazing service and attitude from the hosts. The hostel is located in a beautiful valley, very close to San Jose and Cartago (6-7 km.?) - but much better and quieter than the big city. Very clean and very good value for money. Free parking was provided and great wi-fi.

Hot showers were a bonus! Quiet area set back from the main highway about 3 streets back. Lots of things to do!! Sarah is super nice and will answer any questions and be there if you need anything.

Not much I didnt like, but some of the hiking directions given on the wall are out of date and easy to get lost.

Great little hostel in the heart of Orosi. The staff here are super friendly and helpful and there is an abundance of information provided about things to do, hiking trails etc. The hostel is a unique layout and has some quirky features such as a woodstove heated hot tub. Kitchen was adequate and had everything you could need to cook for yourself. Would definitely stay again.
