Lovely mountain getaway.”

Claudio and Michaela are lovely hosts. The homemade food was delicious and I enjoyed having good conversations at dinnertime. Mi Hogar is locate din the middle of an eco project in the woods on Jarabacoa and serenly quiet (yes, there are roosters - but we are in the Dominican). Michaela also offers massages, which I was fortunate to experience - very recommendable. If you need time away from the lovely (and bustling) coastline, this is it.
If you have more than one car to choose from - take the one with the strongest motor....;) ....you will need it.

the couple who run the place are angels. the food was superb. they were thoughtful and helpful in every way. and they have 4 beautiful cats.

This is a must stay if you are in Jarabacoa! The location is amazing and in the country side. I am a solo female traveler and felt very safe. The hosts are the kindest people in the whole world and they do really care about you! On top of that, they are amazing cooks. You do not need to eat anywhere else. I would love to come back :)

Michela and Claudio are a lovely couple that made our stay really pleasant and homie. We had dinner both nights of stay and was really good food well serve. The rooms are nice and have a private balcony. Hot water, bathroom really clean and comfortable facilities. You really can feel you are in the wild nature. The best thing of the stay was how Michela and Claudio give us a excellent service, always worry about our needs or helping with anything. For us it was an excellent experience to have dinner up in the mountains with a lovely couple making us feel like home. The breakfast was great also.
They have cats around but they are very educated and didn’t cause any inconvenience or made the stay uncomfortable. You can’t smoke in the property, but you can take a small walk near by. And you can’t take any beverage or food cause they serve you as part of the stay.

Great Place for Birdwatching”

In the middle of nature, this is a great place for birdwatching, in few hours we had Hispaniola lizzard cuckoo and Hispaniolan spindalis. Everything was perfect there and hosts are great and care a lot about their guests.

It’s an adventure to get here!”

It is an adventure to get there, make sure you have the right car, preferably 4 WD. Otherwice hosts are nice, it is a family house, Mikela speaks good English and is happy to share experiences and information.
Claudio will cook you dinner which is nice but the menu is simple and pricey for what you get.
