Cost-effectiveness: The average price is 200 yuan per night, which is very cost-effective for this location and price range. Location: It is very close to both Sensoji Temple and Ueno, and you can easily walk there. However, please note that the Asakusa Station you arrive at by taking the Sky Access from Narita Airport is not the same as the Asakusa Station near the hotel. To travel to Ginza, Shibuya, and Shinjuku, you can take the Ginza Line from the Toramachi Station at the intersection, which is very convenient. Facilities: The male and female floors are separate, and the elevators are also separate. Each floor has its own separate toilet and shower room, which are clean and sufficient. The second floor is a public area with a washing machine. There are usually more people in the public area at night. The washing machine requires 100 yen coins, so please make sure to bring enough coins if you need to use it.
I once stayed in a capsule hotel elsewhere. Here, the good thing is that each capsule room is quiet when you move around, and the rooms are stable. I don't want to stay on the upper or lower floors, but if you are big or older, it's better to stay on the lower floor. The luggage is kept in the capsule room, which is convenient, but the downside is that it can be noisy and disturb those nearby. There is also a laundry service available.
The hotel's location is highly strategic, offering exceptional convenience for travelers. It is just a 3-minute walk from Tawaramachi Station (Ginza Line) and a 10-minute walk from Kuramae Station (Oedo Line). Additionally, major attractions such as Sensoji Temple and Kaminarimon Gate are within a comfortable 10-minute walking distance, making it an ideal choice for sightseeing. The hotel is easily accessible, with a direct journey from Haneda Airport via the Asakusa Line taking approximately 1 hour, followed by a 10-minute walk. Moreover, the area surrounding the hotel is well-served with amenities, including food shops within 100 meters and nearby convenience stores, further enhancing its appeal as a great place to stay. The hotel boasts excellent facilities and upholds a high standard of cleanliness. A notable feature is its automatic lighting adjustment, with lights dimming or turning off at 10:00 PM and turning back on at 6:00 AM, ensuring a tranquil and restful environment for guests. The reception staff were generally helpful; however, my initial arrival experience was less than pleasant. Due to a flight delay, I arrived late, after 10:00 PM, which I acknowledge may have caused some inconvenience to the staff assisting me with the check-in process. Despite this, one staff member made a remark that felt unprofessional, stating, "If next time you come to Tokyo and arrive after 10:00 PM, do not stay at our hotel, as it is our policy." While I understand the importance of adhering to policies, I believe that working in the accommodation and hospitality industry requires a level of flexibility and professionalism when dealing with unforeseen circumstances. How such messages are communicated to guests significantly impacts their experience and perception of the service provided. I hope the management considers addressing this aspect to enhance the overall guest experience.
This was my first time trying capsule accommodation, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to experience it! From the moment I arrived, the minimalist Japanese design of the lobby and the warm smiles of the staff made me feel at ease. The capsules were thoughtfully designed, offering a cozy cocoon of comfort with soft bedding, personal light control, and great ventilation. The shared bathrooms and showers were impeccably clean, stocked with high-quality toiletries, and made my stay so convenient. Little touches like fresh towels and hairdryers added to the comfort, and the female-only capsule area with keycard access provided a sense of security that allowed me to relax completely. The hotel’s location in the heart of Asakusa was unbeatable, just a short stroll from Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise Street. I loved exploring the vibrant neighborhood each day, and the nearby train station made it easy to venture further into Tokyo. The staff were incredibly helpful, offering tips on the best times to visit local landmarks and hidden gems in the area. If I had one tiny suggestion, It would be amazing if they could add more hooks or hangers inside the capsules for jackets or bags. Other than that, everything was perfect! Lightning Hotel isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I visit Tokyo!

"I want to stay again! Wearing indoor clothes is mandatory inside the building!"”
I was worried because there weren't many reviews, but since it was cheap, I decided to stay. It was located facing the road and was bright, so I felt safe even at night. It was less than a 3-minute walk from Taharamachi Station and took about 10 minutes to get to Sensoji Temple. Check-in was smooth as long as the timing didn't overlap, but there were only two receptionists, so there were lines depending on the time. I was happy that I could choose the upper or lower capsule. There was a brief explanation about the hotel, and they kindly answered any questions I had. However, the amenities were only a toothbrush, razor, brush, (and cotton? It's unclear), and two towels. They didn't provide any indoor wear, and you had to pay 500 yen to rent it, so I recommend bringing your own. Most people, including myself, wore sweatpants. There was a locker on the same floor as my capsule, and it was big enough to fit a carry-on bag for a 3-day stay. Inside the capsule, there were two hangers to hang clothes, one USB port and outlet, and an alarm clock. There were about three shower rooms on each floor. It wasn't crowded when I used it, so I was able to take a shower right away. There was no bathtub. There were about five hair dryers in the powder room at the back of the shower room. I didn't know where the powder room was, but I saw other people going in and realized there was a powder room and hair dryers. The hotel was not fully booked when I stayed, and the people on the same floor were very quiet, so I was able to sleep comfortably without any disturbance. You might hear footsteps in the morning, but it might not be a problem if you use the capsules on the second floor. I was worried because there were few reviews, but the hotel was very clean, and the toilets were also very clean, making it very comfortable to stay. It was a bit difficult to find the location of the toilet and powder room, so I thought it would be more comfortable if there were instructions or a map. However, I was very satisfied with the quality of the hotel at this price and location. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay here again!
