Kintamani hotels & places to stay

Although we spent only 1 night at this hotel but we really enjoyed our staying. Our room was facing the mount and lake Batur directly. If you open the sliding door from the room you can take a bath while enjoying a splendid view of Mount Batur in front of your room. If you are looking for a quiet hotel and you do not need any television or any other entertainment during your stay, you'd better to choose this hotel. This is the best hotel in Kintamani I've ever seen.

We only stayed here for one night but as soon as we got there we wished we could stay longer. Made and his team were so kind and inviting and took care of all of our needs. When my friend hurt her foot, Made immediately took us to his cousin who massaged it and made the swelling go down instantly. we were in good hands to say the least. They also offered us a great price for a personal guide to trek up batur with everything included. The place itself has a stunning view of the volcano and a pool filled with water from the volcano that is cleaned and filled daily. If you visit kintamani or plan on climbing mt batur I can’t recommend this place enough!

Staff were not hospitable at all. The only time they were around was when they were booking us in to do the Mt Batur sunrise walk (where they were making a commission) and even then, they were very rushed. Room was fine, very basic bathroom, cold water only. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered here.. at both lunch and dinner time there was no one to be found, and the dining area was very much closed. There are a couple of little places to eat in town. After speaking to another couple, it seems like the local eateries are better than the restaurants. Location to the start of the walk was ideal, but we were picked up late for the walk and rushed up the mountain. Not ideal for anyone on this terrain, especially if your are not a regular hiker. I would only recommend staying here if you were looking for cheap accommodation close to the start of the sunrise walk.

Ayu Kintamani is truly a luxury hotel with private villas each with their own pool. We had the honeymoon suite and it was massive and furnished fantastically. The villa pool was awesome and the rooms very clean and large. The other huge resort pool and three hot pools were also mind blowing. Two flat screen TVs if you wanted to use them although no DVD player which was a shame as there were some DVDs in the cabinet. If you feel like some luxury when younarebgoing trekking up the mountain then think about staying here.

We only stayed here one night but it was great! Run by a very nice local family. We received a fresh welcome drink upon arrival and had dinner in their little restaurant which was delicious. The rooms are a good size with hot water and beautiful views of the lake. They can help you with booking a guide for hiking Mt. Batur and you hike directly from the hotel. This was great because then you get to sleep a little longer than if you are coming from Ubud. We also had breakfast at their restaurant which was very good. If you wish you are able to walk to the hot springs in about 10 minutes from the hotel after your hike. We were too tired but sounded like a great way to finish your stay at this lovely place.

I have stayed here before, two years ago, and loved it so much that I specifically wanted to stay here again. It's not perfect for everyone in that there are some very steep stairs, depending on where your room is. The facilities in the basic room are basic but the views are wonderful. Sadly, about two years ago, there was a change in policy by the government and now a lot of heavy trucks come past the property, damaging the road and creating noise. Inside my room, I could hardly hear the trucks but in the outdoor part of the restaurant, it was frequently noisy. The outstanding part of my stay there, and what would make me come back again, in spite of the trucks is, the owner. He was amazingly helpful and friendly. I frequently felt like part of the family. He can also provide driving services anywhere on the island, as well as arrange the mountain trek up the volcano. So, because of the owner and the views, I would definitely stay there for yet another trip.

it was nice to find the place on bali, where nobady try to cheat to you with doubled price, nobady is trying to sell you souvenirs, fake glasses or watches and sarung :-) room was clean and big and restaurant has good local cuisine especionaly fish from the lake was great. it is not 5 star hotel with swimming pool etc, but we were very satisfied (also with nice trip around the bali).

if trekking is your reason why you visit kintamani but waking up at 3.30 am (trekking normally starts at 4am) is not your thing, i suggest you better book your stay in this hotel. compared with other inns near the lake, this hotel offers room with perfect view of the mount Agung, Mount Batur and it's lake from your room's balcony. it is excellent for capturing photos of both sunrise and sunset. and they also serve breakfast right in your room so you have no excuses to miss the great morning. breakfast includes fresh fruits, juices, coffee, tea, bottled water plus the usual breakfast of either continental or indonesian breakfast. cave hotel also offers mount tour packages and could easily help you arrange a transport to your next destination. the staff are very helpful and friendly. the restaurant gives discount to their in-house guests for lunch buffet which has a wide selection of food. however, better plan to eat dinner in advance for the restaurant closes after 5 pm and the hotel room service is only up to 9 pm like the rest of the restaurants along the main road ( i personally do not recommend having dinner past 8pm outside the hotel since the weather could be cold and with zero visibility due to heavy clouds enfolding the area. had a great experience staying here!

Baruna Cottages are located right next to lake Batur away from other touristy areas. Great views and great location. The rooms are basic but good enough for travelers who are interested in exploring or trekking in this beautiful area. We were a small group who booked 3 rooms. The beds were comfortable, there was no hot water but it didn't matter to us as we only stayed one night. The staff were great, limited english but we managed to communicate reasonably well enough. The staff organised transport to a local restaurant for dinner with Puta who was very helpful. Included breakfast is either a tasty egg omelette or pancake with coffee or tea. If roughing it a little doesn't bother you, I'd highly recommend Baruna Cottages, go along with a relaxed attitude and you'll enjoy.

We decided to stay in the tents as it is the closest to the hike to mount Batur. On arrival we get greeted by Jerro below the mountain. We came here to go to the top of the volcano and we didn't want a guide. He kept trying to sell us his expensive guide package. After negotiating a while, we finally were able to stay at the tents and not take the guide. We paid 100.000 IDR extra to have dinner at the campsite, including tea and drinks. So we both had one beer, but the next day we had to pay another 100.000 IDR for the beer. They said it was not included. We did the hike the next morning without a guide and it was totally fine. We left our bikes at his house and we got back to the bikes, one of them was acting weird. We made it to the 'triangle house' a bit further in town only to realize that they had tampered with the bike! The probably wanted to get more money out of us. Do not stay here! We stayed somewhere else the next night and it was absolutely amazing!

location of hotel is good for mt.batur hiking. hotel segara is actually good to stay for short time..(to see sunrise of batur, i should leave hotel around 4:00 am).. however it is not so comfortable hotel to be relaxed in hotel... if you can travel in kintamani with small budget i would recommend it.. but you want be relaxed? please spend more money and stay better hotel!

we were 6 woman from jakarta taking trip to bali. the hotel were located at the foot of mount kintamani and near the lake so it was cold with superb views. the journey to the hotel from the top of kintamani meander is highly recommended the services of a driver who is accustomed to this place. along the way can be seen the stones former volcanic eruptions. our arrival at night greeted by friendly hotel staff who also offer services to take us to the mountain to see the sunrise. not far from the hotel there is hot spring are nice and clean but had to pay idr 100,000. hotel is perfect for honey moon because of the beautiful natural scenery.

This hotel is really at the doorstep of the Lake, with its restuarant facing the lake with nice views of the 2 mountains. As such, it is a long journey down from the the main town. We reached Kintamani at about 8.30pm (self-drive), and had a hard time finding the place. Lucky a group of local guys led us to it. By the way, it is known as Apung restuarant here. The restuarant was already closed when I reached, thus we had to skip dinner that night. The manager was quite helpful in providing information and arranging a last-minute hike the next morning. However, I believed he took a big commission from it. Nevertheless, as it was our only night in this area, I had to take it, if not, I might not have been able to arrange for the hike myself the next early morning. The bedsheets and not exactly clean clean (still ok), but I guess what to expect at this price at this sort of mountainous little town.

I really liked this place. Amazing views from both sides of the hotel. Cool staff that you can actually get to know and are reasonable if you actually take the time to chat with them. It was fun watching the stars at night and the local guys fishing with glow in the dark works nearby. Awesome warm pool and free shuttle to some epic hot spring palace nearby. I had some issues with the local mafia running the "treks" up the mountain. Either do it on your own and save a ton of money or book with the hotel as they have their own guides. Apparently they have some issue with agoda and they haven't been getting the money or the confirmation from guests so they were surprised when i showed up. They recommended booking on booking. Com so they can actually see who is arriving.

Yon arranged everything for us, from picking us from canggu, trekking and water rafting. All the staff are friendly and helpful and you feel so at welcome here. Yon even arrange to have the flag of Slovakia painted for my husband, which is so sweet of him. My daughter forgot to bring a sweater and because it’s cold during the trek, Yon found a jacket for both my kids. The hot spring was the best part for us. Highly recommend this place!!

This is a very affordable place to stay in Kintamani. We booked here for an overnight. We informed them via email that we wanted to climb Mt. Batur and the manager was quite helpful in arranging for the tour guide. The place is a bit out of the way but they have a service that can take you to the starting point of the trail. We arrived late at night and the guy at the front desk didn't seem to speak or understand much english and had to call 2 other people to check us in. Hot water was great as it can get pretty cold in Kintamani. Internet didn't work the whole time of our stay which is a bit disappointing. The light breakfast before the climb was a nice surprise (you also get another breakfast after the climb - this one was so-so). Overall, this is a very affordable place (considering the prices of other accomodations in the area) with a great view of the volcano, lava field and lake.
