We enjoyed our 1-night stay at the hotel! The room was really small but it had everything it needed, it was really great to also have a breakfast included and not have to worry about finding a breakfast spot. Make-your-own waffles were a standout :)

The hotel is centrally located right opposite the Parliament on the main thoroughfare Karl Johan. It is housed in a beautiful historic structure with all the shopping you need to do within walking distance. Yet I stayed in a quiet room with hardly any noise disturbance. The room is spacious with a very high ceiling. All the facilities are available. Of course the price is high but very reasonable considering the exceedingly expensive Oslo.

Modern Renovated Hotel At With Very Good Breakfast”
Hotel was next to the Christmas market and located at end of the Karl Johan Shopping Street. Need to walk about few hundred meters from the central train station. Renovation was ongoing and because of that, I got a room at very good price. My room has already been refreshed and everything looks new. Breakfast was fantastic with all the usual Norwegian spread plus waffles and assortment of cheese and fruit juices. The breakfast room is large and has been renovated. It looks very posh, and guests are allowed to sit there at any time with complimentary coffee and tea. The reception ladies are all very friendly and help with all the queries I had. Awesome hotel, and high recommended.

Great spot in the Karl Johan street”
Great spot in the Karl Johan street, loctated right near the palace & gardens Easy walk to the train station and a short walk to the Aker Bryg eating/dining area. Plenty of restaurants and convenience shops just downstairs if needed as well This is a nice hotel, our room was quite small but clean and very comfortable and quiet, staff are nice and check in and out was easy. Great central hotel

Central Oslo, great rooms, breakfast and staff”
we were in oslo in the days following the bombing. we contacted the hotel direct to ensure it was ok and undamaged. the staff were reassuring not just about the hotel, but also about the safety of oslo in general. the room was large, clean with comfortable beds. the hotel is very central and the windows keep out any street noise. the staff were able to provide excellent instructions in english on using public transport and how to get to major museums and sights. i think the breakfast was substantial and catered for western as well as nordic tastes.

Perfect Location and Friendly Staff”
The location of the hotel in Karl Johan Gate is perfect with most major attractions in the city within walking distance. Their staffs are friendly and helpful and even offer to make us sandwich in the morning as we are unable to take our buffet breakfast.

Probably a 3.5-star hotel; nice stay; no complaint”
I really enjoyed my stay at Best Western Karl Johan. It's very centrally located. The staff were very helpful. There was a really large selection for breakfast and it was delicious. The only thing that wasn't perfect for me was that the bathroom was really small, but I did get the most basic room (so what am I really complaining about).

Room offered was big with nice street view which can see the parliament. The hotel is located right at the end of the Karl Johan Gate which make me easy to have a walk there. Breakfast was included with various choices. Very good experience here!

Great location, terrific breakfast”
We were in Oslo for the Syttende mai celebrations. This hotel was right on the parade route, and very accessible to everything in Oslo. It was extremely clean and well-kept, and the breakfast was amazing. We even had kransekake (Norwegian ring cakes) at the breakfast on the 17th of May, because of the Norwegian Independence day holiday. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend highly.

Clean room, friendly staff and great location”
My stay was superb! My room was on the 4th floor and was not noisy at all. When I arrived the hotel front desk at 1pm, the staff let me have an early check-in. So, I could have a refresh in the room before going out again. Downstairs is the Karl Johans Gate, there are a lot to see along the road and the Royal Palace is at the end of the main road.

Don't let the Best Western name fool you”
Yes, it's part of the Best Western franchise but it's a bit different than I would normally think of a BW in the US. I won't lie, the hotel was a bit dated and the pillows flat. But that's the worst thing I'll say about it. The room was great and served its purpose. The staff was lovely and friendly. And the location is perfect for visiting most of the sights. You can easily walk here from the train station. The breakfast buffet was pretty great too. I would definitely stay here again when in Oslo.

For Oslo you can't find a better location and cheaper than this. The room is nice, not big though, but enough for two friends or couples. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and modern.

Great location but rather small room”
I got lucky because I had great street view of Karl Johanl street, very good location, very near to Nation theater station. Good breakfast and nice stuff. I am very happy and pleased that I choose Best Western Karl Johanl Hotel.

Business Visit”
Hotel is well located for central Oslo short walk to Opera Station and Central Station. I booked a standard single room which is small to say the least! wouldn't want to stay more than 2 nights in such a small room, must say I have stayed in larger rooms in Oslo for a similar price. Breakfast is OK but no bar or restaurant in the hotel. Staff very helpful and pleased to assist you.
