A delightful oasis!”
Munduk is a very scenic place to visit, and Karang Sari was a wonderful surprise. The owner and staff were competent and welcoming, arranging a walking tour to the waterfall for us, and serving all of our meals in their small outdoors restaurant. The town streets are hectic and narrow, so we ended up eating all of our meals there rather than go out after dark. Everything was excellent! If you go, be sure to ask for an Indonesian breakfast at least once, and don't miss the banana or pineapple pancakes! You can order them at breakfast (for an extra charge) or as dessert with dinner. Yum!

this hotel was perfect for 1 night, but as a traveller on foot without a motorcycle or car, munduk was a challenging place to be. there are a few interesting and very scenic walks nearby but i left after 1 day as there wasnt really that much to do or see. hotel is really suited towards backpacker/budget traveller sort of vibe, and for that its great. the owners are lovely, and the food is really tasty. its very quiet at night, and i admit the neighborhood dogs barking kept me awake for a while, but i dont know if thats a regular thing or not. beds were clean and comfortable, and there are some ants in the room, but if you are travelling in bali outside of the beach areas, that shouldn't be a surprise. wifi was pretty weak, but i think they are trying to improve that.....it is in the mountains tho. for the rate, it is definitely the best option in the area and would highly reccomend this to budget or adventurous travelers

Friendly family, Guesthouse, great view”
We were a trio of middle aged woman who had enough room with extra bed. Lovely large balcony on upper floor. Parking space for our rental car was a perk as its a tiny village road going down the center of Munduk. Love this place for its clean crisp air and surrounding green mountain views. Lovely people at Guesthouse and in surrounding village. Some good restaurants...try Baju for the best ribs in Bali! And chocolate Cake!! I'm pleased to find alternatives as the food at hotel was a little disappointing and my fellow friends didn't like to be charged for rice that should come with meal...breakfast too, lacked eggs but toast was brown!complimentar -

Lovely little hotel in the heart of the village”
This is a very affordable accommodation placed in the heart of the village of Munduk. We were pleasantly surprised really, it had all the home comforts that you want in a hotel room, the little touches, like a moquito net, a side light, bins and hooks and such like. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming and they do really make you feel like family asking every morning how you are, how you slept, what you are up to etc. The views are spectacular and the food is very very tasty too - great combo. A couple of negatives, the walls really are like paper, it's like your neightbours are in the same room as you, and the water in the showers had good pressure but fluctuated between hot and cold a bit. But you can't grumble really for the price. In terms of things to do in the town we went to the waterfalls and a walk between the two lake - great for a couple of days stay on your travels!

A good value for money hotel”
A very nice hotel in Munduk area with comfortable bed and clean room. The view from our balcony is great, we enjoy our dinner at our balcony at second floor. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They show us the direction to the waterfall by map and drive us by motorcycle to the start point of the road leading to the waterfall and schedule the time to pick us up at the other end, after we finish our trip. They do the same thing for an old couple one day before. The last but not the least, the food are great, especially the fry noodle. In one word, this is a good value for money hotel.

Had to argue about 1 hour to get decent accomodat”
Arrived at the hotel to find out that our room had been let out to someone else! we were offered accomodaion in a fellow hotel (Puri Sunny at the opposite end of the town). After about one hour of arguing and refusing the most disgusting rooms they were showing us, we ended up having a nice room. If you reserve at the Karang Sari, be prepare you will most likey end up at the Puri Sunny where only the deluxe rooms are nice (most of the others board the very noisy street). We did have lunch at the Karang in the garden (very calm and enjoyable) and dinner at the Puri Sunny where it took then 1.5hours to serve us spring rolls and thai soup. the deluxe room hadan amazing view and was calm.

Garden on top of the world”
I only stayed here for one night with a small toddler but it is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms overlook a much well-teneded garden that stoops into the clouds, with flowers, a gold fish pond, a quiet verandah restaurant right in the middle, and a swing. Munduk is well worth a visit and this is a beautiful place to stay. Staff felt more like family and very friendly, ginger coffee and strawberry juice a must. Rooms basic but with four-poster bed, mosquito net, and little balcony facing garden and the world/clouds/mountain. A very special place.

Beautiful garden and friendly staff”
located in munduk in a beautiful garden overlooking the valley. the restaurant is very relaxing and peaceful with good food. staff are very helpful and friendly and can help you book guides (made was great - 50,000/hr) and transport (komang was also great). rooms are clean and have nice little balconies to sit and watch the view. value is excellent, but don't expect luxury, just clean and comfortable.

Lovely guest house in Manduk”
probablibly the best place to stay in the tiny village of munduk. the room are huge and clean with baldachin king size bed. the breakfast are delightful and the restaurant serves the best indononesian food in town such as tuna in tomato sauce and nasi goreng beef with spices

Lovely location ”
Munduk was our favourite place on Bali. The hotel is near the end of the village with fantastic views we have a nice big room with balcony so we could sit with a coffee looking at the scenery. Staff were nice and provided a map so we could go walking. Downside were the village dogs barking all night, but that's not the hotels fault.

Comfortable for the price but inconsistent”
This review refers to the new block of Frangipani rooms. Rooms are comfortable but spare with nice balcony views of garden (with small restaurant) and mountain valley. Like nearly every accommodation in Munduk they are situated beside the main village road that runs down the spine of a ridge so you will here traffic noises during the day. It's quiet a night. The nice family that runs it does seem to be trying hard but you have to ask for things that sometimes fall through the cracks. No water bottles or clean glasses, ask them. No hot water in shower - check the gas tank. They are very responsive in trying to make you as comfortable as possible. One big minus is the lack of a ceiling fan. We stayed in Munduk for four days and it was quite warm. The rooms face south so the afternoons were hot in our room. The small restaurant again was inconsistent. Included breakfast was ok. Lunch tended to be the best time for a good meal. Evening not so good. There are other places to eat (Don Biyu is very good but a walk). Overall the hotel is a good value for what you pay.

Good Value Hotel”
Restaurant is in a very nice garden string. Friendly family. Munduk the town is spread out along the main road on a ridge top with limited charm. But the walk on the rice fields was very nice. No hastling. The lake with walk and canoe trip was worth doing too.

Beautiful view, lovely hotel, very nice owner”
Upon arriving, we were told that they had not received our confirmation from Agoda. The owner was very apologetic. He personally escorted us to another hotel. The other hotel also had a beautiful view, a very spacious room with balcony, and a very very friendly staff. We did not have to pay extra for this place. We really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you!

the hotel was great, beautiful gardens and views. main disappointment was with the breakfast. it was just fruit, bread and coffee. we ordered eggs and they charged us for every single one, which seems not very customer-service oriented.
