Hotels near St Cyril and St Methodius Cathedral

This is located in a mainly residential neighborhood so it's nice and quiet. There are restaurants and bars within feet of the front door but I never heard any noise. There is a cafe/coffee house about 50 yards away and several mini markets just a block a way. The main train station is an easy walk downhill from the hotel- took us perhaps 15 mins to walk. (It might be more difficult walking up) It's a straight downhill walk to the river near the Dancing building. It took us about 20 mins to get there. The whole area feels very safe but closer to the river you get more of the large groups of young men (didn't see many young ladies) out bar hopping. The room was a nice size and the water was hot. Everything was clean. I didn't notice A/C but we left the windows open for a nice breeze. Breakfast was served in the basement-it was a nice buffet of cold meats/cheeses/cereals toast etc... There is also an on site restaurant.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. The hotel is a easy 15 minute walk from the central station and 5 minutes from Wenceslas Square. The check in was fast and the manager was very helpful. I was a little disappointed in the size of our room, classic room, however we spent all our time exploring the city, and the bed was so comfortable and the bathroom lovely. The hotel is in a side street and our room overlooked the courtyard. It was very quiet, perfect for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was good value and a wonderful way to start the day. There was a very good selection of food, all fresh and tasty and delicious pastries. We would definitely stay again if we returned to Prague.

My husband and I were in awe when we stepped into Miss Sophie's Hotel. It is situated in an old building but the interior is just....wow. They only had about 16 rooms in total and we were lucky to be able to secure a room during the peak period. The hotel's location is very convenient to travel about. Only 3mins walk to the tram stop that travels to the major tourist attractions. They even sell the tram tickets, so no worries on any trouble finding the tickets. And super convenient to get from the airport to the hotel via train (station is only 5mins away). On top of that, the hotel staff were really helpful in providing tips and suggestions on where to visit and which is the best route to take. The rooms were very beautifully decorated and clean.

My wife & I loved our stay at the Ballerina Hotel. You never get a second opportunity to make a first impression and the first impression created by the concierge staff upon our arrival was superb. Lukas and Roman were welcoming, friendly, efficient and very helpful. Other staff we subsequently met were equally accommodating. This team created an excellent 'shop window' for the Ballerina. The whole hotel, and in particular our room, was spotlessly clean. The breakfast, served in the adjoining San Carlo's restaurant in which we enjoyed two evening meals, was superb. Whether or not a hotel's location is good is relative to a visitor's requirements. The position of the Ballerina worked well for us. It is one street back from a busy thoroughfare into the city, so it is nice & quiet, and is a fifteen minute riverside walk into city centre. (For information,it is also 250 yards from the historic Cathedral of Saints Cyril & Methodius, which has an immensely significant story to tell).

The location was ideal for me as I was attending a conference at the Prague Congress Centre and the hotel is near a subway stop--and the 10-min walk to the station is lined with superb buildings. The city is very well served by trams and the subway so it's easy to go anywhere. The restaurant is outstanding--super fresh food, great GF / DF options, great taste. Room was cozy, very clean, welcoming. Staff was generally very helpful, although occasionally a bit curt. A/C broke the last night there, other than that everything worked well. Street side room was quite noisy with the window open, but quiet if closed. All in all an excellent find.

Comfortable, nice room, great, new, stylish bathroom, much more modern that the room. Warm, clean bedding. Free breakfast, very basic, but a free breakfast is always appreciated. Very helpful young man on the front desk. Old building, bags of character. Easy tram ride into town ( once you've worked out how to buy tickets!) There is no car park, parking is free outside, but very full. Wifi very up and down. Would recommend, our best stay in Europe so far and at a good price.

Everything is well equipped inside the hostel. The bed is comfortable and you can have unlimited hot water supply in washrooms. They clean the rooms everyday so it's very clean and neat. The best thing I have to mention is that when you check in, the receptionist will give you a detailed introduction of the whole city. Maybe it'll take you five to ten minutes standing at the reception but this is the best thing I've ever seen when travelling. Even if you have no plans at all in Prague, you'll know where to go and what to see in the city. Wifi connection inside room is not very stable but you can still do whatever you want, it's enough for you to plan your ongoing journey. And also the location is very good, it takes only five minutes tram from the hostel to the old town. It's worth to stay in Miss Sophie's when travelling in Prague.

Just want to shout out and personally thank Tomas for his excellent service during my stay at Ambiance from 23 Jun to 25 Jun 2018. We had a late check in after a journey from Vienna to Prague and was given a twin bed room during check in. Went to our room and found out it was a twin bed. Upon request, Tomas did a check and help to reassign us to a double bed room. The next day, we wanted to get from hot water to make us some tea as our throats were feeling uncomfortable from all the foods. Tomas did a check at the reception area however there was no available kettle. He said he will go to the dining area to check and bring it up to us if there is one. Prior to this, there were other guests at the reception for check in and one of the guest had issue with their room access. Tomas assured the guest that he will be up in awhile to assist him shortly. Tomas was very busy and I thought he would have forgotten about our request. We were sad there were no available kettle at the point, to our surprise we got a small knock on the door and Tomas brought it up to the room personally. We enjoyed the tea at the comfort of our room. We were very glad and want to take this chance to personally thank Tomas for the excellent service. The hotel is clean and the bed is comfortable. Not sure but the aircon seems to not be adjustable (probably just for this room). It's about 20min walk from Prague main train station. There is also a convenience store opposite which we are able to buy still water from.

Very near metro station and Wenceslas Square. Superior room was spacious. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Downside was lack of wardrobe space. Although the hotel has a suana we were unable to use this as it was fully booked fir the whole week if our stay. If you book this hotel contact them and book this facility in advance. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and the staff were accommodating and did their best to make our stay comfortable. On Friday they give away free beer and on our first night we were given a complimentary bottle of wine. I would recommend this hotel as excellent value for money.

Breakfast not the best, tough skinned 'sausages' which were difficult to get a fork into or cut with a knife. Rest was ok. I stayed in the annex, about 300 yards away, was asked for 1000 Koruna deposit, which was refunded on leaving. Since I had only limited currency with me I asked if it could be paid in £'s. Was refused meaning, 1000 koruna dead - I was leaving for the airport at 09.15. Something they need to look at.

I went to Prague with my boyfriend and found this hotel on Agoda. It was the first time I have booked on this website and as the hotel was much cheaper than on other well-known websites, I was a bit concerned to book it through Agoda. Anyway, as the price difference was quite big, I wanted to try it. We didn't have any issues or hidden costs. The hotel and the staff was lovely. Furthermore, the hotel is not in the city centre but easy to get to (25 minutes walk or on the tram). I absolutely recommend this hotel and I will book with Agoda again.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was clean and gigantic – much larger than we needed for the 2 nights we were there. I was so happy to have booked in this part of the city after experiencing the more touristy neighborhoods. It was nice to have breakfast included, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The only drawback we found is that the Internet seemed to only work in the lobby. Also the restaurant directly across the street has good food, but pay attention that the tip is already included.

hotel was in a good location. room was nice and quite new. however the staff were so rude and seemed to be angry all the time. the breakfast was not a great selection of just sweets and some ham and cheese with bread. ask for a 30 minute late check out and was abruptly told no you must check out at 11. if the staff were friendly I would rate the hotel great! worth the stay and location is good.

I emailed beforehand to double check that they had rec our booking. I was contacted back the same day by the Manageress. As we were staying for my daughter's 21st birthday we were offered a birthday package which consisted of sparkling wine and the most gorgeous cake(even had the option to purchase 4 different types of cake!). Check in was quick and efficient by Thomas and he explained about our room location , breakfast timings and if we should require anything just to ask. We did ask about a restaurant that we wanted to visit for my daughters birthday meal and thomas helped us with directions. He also recommended another restaurant at the bottom end of the street, which we did visit on another occasion.This to was excellent food and comes highly recommended. Our room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was spotless. Towels clean and fluffy. After the 1st night's sleep we asked Vaclav on reception if we could have some more pillows(our personal preference) and these were brought to our room within 4 minutes - how is that for service! The hotel also very kindly let us keep our case as we had a late flight back home, again on collection of our bag later that day Vaclav gave great service. An absolute gentleman, friendly and eager to assist. Breakfast was good plenty of variety for a continental buffet. Filter coffee to die for !!!!! Kitchen staff always friendly in the morning and the tables cleared immediatley and always popping out to check if anything needed topped up or the food replenished.

Our Prague experience was amazing, starting with Hotel 16, which has a great staff (all of it!) ! Our hotel room included a furnished mini-room (with a chiffonier and a big round mirror, a small couch and a coffee table) that was very useful, as the bedroom wasn't exactly small, but the bed was huge and so there was little space left. The bathroom was small but well equipped (it had a decent shelf for me to put all the bathroom things on, and to me that's satisfactory). The shower cabin could be a bit larger though. Breakfast was various and delicious, coffee was great. They also disposed of 2?! free parking spots in a private area across the street, so we weren't charged for the parking. Aah and the staff.. did I mention the staff? They were really helpful and forthcoming, made us feel lovely. To my shame, I failed to ask for the reception girl's name (the one we talked the most to), but thank you girl at Hotel 16, you're really nice! And so were the other guys we got a chance to talk to. They all made us feel welcome and eager to return. Would recommend any time!

I was their during a warm weather spell. My room windows would only open a crack. There was no ventilation and the hotel staff would not provide me with fans for the room. When strongly complained that I needed help, after consulting with a supervisor, they said they would open the window further and provide me with a fan the next day. They did neither. I felt like I was trapped in a hot stuffy room and I was. This was a real negative experience in my life. The hotel lobby shares space with the restaurants bar. They allowed smoking at the bar. The internet connection was best in the hotel lobby. What this meant was every time I would use the internet in the lobby (required to have satisfactory internet connection), I was forced to breath tobacco smoke. The staff enjoyed taking their cigarette breaks at this bar area and at times the smoke was over whelming while I tried to work on the internet. My nose burnt from the fumes.

Hotel located about 200 houndred meters to Vltava river, not far from old city center (walking distance in about 15 minutes), also with very good connection with public transfer - trams or underground (metro). The way with tram from train station “Praha hlavní nádraží” lasted only 10 minutes. Te breakfast only average, but enough and satisfactory. The only “black point” is noice - because of noicy trams. You mušt Calculator with them from 5-6 AM to midnight.

Easily accessible from Pile Gate. Street just off Stradum. Though I sent email about our time of arrival, no one was there to meet us. The entrance to the apartment was used as storeroom by the restaurant downstairs. Thought that we went to the wrong place. We called the owners at Antica Ragusa on the other side of Stradum. She then sent someone to us with the keys and bill for the cash payment. Bedrooms quite spacious with double bed & queen bed, no air-con. Sitting room has no windows, so a bit stuffy. Fortunately the air-con worked. Bathroom has been renovated. Very noisy at night for bedroom windows were facing Old Puca which is a busy street too.

Great Price. Very friendly staff. Room Cleaned everyday. Comfy bed. Good security within the hotel. Safe available in room. Plenty choice for breakfast 0700-1000hrs. (Nice coffee) Restaurant on level 2 Water was always hot for shower. No kettle in room but didnt need one, just went down for unlimited coffee/tea and other refeshments at breakfast time. Large seating area in Restaurant. I would stay here again. If you haven't visited Prague before I would recommend do the Ultimate Tour (brochures in reception). 6 hour tour of the City. Knowledgeable local guides. Small groups. Gives you a good feel for the city and what it has to offer. It's not cheap but we had a great day with our guide David. Well worth paying the extra. Transfer from Airport 23Eur or 600-650CSK arranged through Hotel. Good communication with Hotel leading up to stay and afterwards. I left an expensive shirt behind. They contacted me and are posting it back to me! Brilliant service Pretty good location too. 10-15 min easy downhill walk to Wenceslas Square. Using Public Transport you are just a few minutes away from the centre. Lots of choice of Trams to city centre, both day and late night (1-2min walk to the stop) Pavlova Underground Metro station is very close, just 1-2 min walk (Red C line)- next stop Muzeum which accesses Green line A to the centre. Take Green line A -1st stop to Můstek for Wenseslas Sq or next stop Staroměstská for the Old Town / Jewish Quarter. It's an adventure in itself! 24hr Public Transportation Tickets and Passes 110CZK or 3 Day 310czk available from tobacco shop in Pavlova Station. Or just pick up a 30min or 90min ticket from the vending machines. 2 stops away from Pavlova, after Muzeum is Prague's main railway station Hlavni where you can buy tickets for Kutna Hora or Český Krumlov at a fraction of the cost of an excursion!

We stayed for 4 nights in Alton very close to Hotel Pavlova Tram and Metro Station. We can buy 30min or 90min common ticket from Tabk shop near to metro. KFC Macdonalds Arabic food etc., are near by. We booked Airport shuttle (PRAGUE AIRPORT TRANSFERS S.R.O.O Feel the difference) by net and paid by credit card after the drop. They are very reliable and safe. Alton staff are cooperative with good breakfast with clean atmosphere. It has money exchange. Do carry Czeck Koruna. Do not use taxi for touring and be careful about the few people on Charles bridge for few services. Do carry thermal cloths, jackets if one is going in cold season. Do carry credit card and currency, and keep a spare wallet with credit card, cash etc and passports safely in Hotel. One need to punch tram/metro ticket once before entering them or big fines will be there if missed and caught later. Taxi near metro demanded exorbitant prices for short distance distances also.

This was the first time we stayed in Ibis hotel during our overseas holiday. We enjoyed the stay in this Ibis hotel very much. The hotel lobby, bedroom and restaurant are very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff are helpful and speak good English. We had no problem communicating with them. Its buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choices from bread, cheese, ham, milk etc etc. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. The hotel's location is great with easy access to metro station, tram stop and main train station is just two metro stations away. There are two leading fast food chain of restaurants and one supermarket nearby. There is no problem getting food, drinks and others. In fact, we stayed in this Ibis hotel again when we returned to Prague after two weeks before we flew home. We highly recommend this Ibis hotel.
