We stayed in this hotel for 2 days recently. We had a very pleasant experience throughout our stay. Initially we booked our room in 2 separate booking, so theoretically we have to check in another room for the 2nd day, but the front staff, a gentleman, is so kind and really took the time to find us a high floor room for the 2 nights so that we need not have the hassle to change room. Thank you so much. Obviously we had a good view looking out to Tokyo Tower. Room is not big but adequate, well lited, including the bathroom. There is convenient store in house which proved to be very useful. But through out our stay, the one thing which touches us is the friendliness of the hotel staffs, very courteous and ever ready to help. That particular lady who sent us to our limousine bus deserved special mention for being very thoughtful. Unfortunately in a hurry we didn't register her name. We stayed in 6 hotels in Tokyo, and I must admit we have the best experience from this hotel.

We have used this hotel for over a decade and dozen trips to Tokyo. The location is best as trains, subways, buses and restaurant choices are the best and shopping is also a benefit. The hotel staff is always top notch and helpful. We arranged Luggage Forwarding for lightening our load for JR rail travel and love their buffet breakfast. Our favourite local fish restaurant is Takewaka j6st down the street under Spice 2 restaurant. Here you can sit around a pond filled with fish you can eat. Order 9 course meal with sea bream freash from pond fir 60 usd per person. They also have reasonably priced airport shuttle bus stop from here also. Their concierge service is very good. Only problem I have us I can't tip anyone here. Rooms are not large but that's not what we care about. They are clean and adequate. Rob and Napa Moore USA

This hotel was the best in our trip, convenience location short walking to Ikebukuro station and shopping mall ,7-11 on 1st floor ,Denny restaurant on 2nd floor , hotel lobby on 3rd floor , at front desk they have currency exchange machine, in rainy day we can buy an umbrella only 300 yen is cheaper than outside, don quijote discount coupon and others tourist information brochures available to pickup in front of the elevator / full of amenities in room also handy(free smartphone for calling and unlimited internet during stay) , everything and new , over all here is only one hotel in this trip that provides extra bed for our daughter age 3 years we’re very surprised. Next time in Tokyo here is the choice of us .Very Very highly recommend!!!

Great for humble solo travelers. I say this because I chose to stay here instead of with my group, as they wanted more space and cooking facilities. The room: You get what you pay for = basics. Very small, but I could fit 1 XL suitcase, 2 Large travelling bags in the room. The bathroom was also a tight squeeze but it had all the essentials. The only space I could use to stretch was on the bed, so if you can handle small living areas this is for you. Location: Great distance from major shopping points (such as Sunshine City), but the downside is that the hotel is positioned right next to a highway/vehicle overpass. The noise from the outside street did make it hard for me to sleep, but if you're a heavy sleeper then you should be okay. A bit of a walk to the JR station but other train-lines are available. The neighborhood is very safe (I was walking back to the hotel well past midnight after I dropped my friends off). Cleanliness: From the lobby, the elevator, hallway and to my room, my experience with this hotel was very clean. I have sensitive skin, but I had no problems during my stay - the bathroom, the robes and the bed linen provided were clean. The building itself looked very well maintained. Staff: Not all staff could speak English, so it would be wise to learn a bit of the language to make things easier. But they were all very friendly and eager to help. Best highlight was the staff were able to hang on to my luggage before I could check in so I could see the sights, and then also hang on to it after check out as I had a late-night flight. They were also able to help me find the closest post-office, but I struggled to secure a shuttle with the staff. Other than that, I was very comfortable and happy with the service. Facilities: Everything listed on the booking was there in the room. Had no issues with any of the furnishings or equipment. TV came with a headphone jack so it's good if you have blue tooth headphones so you can watch the TV without annoyi

It was my best stay in Tokyo, I'm stayed in Ueno and Shinjuku in the past but Ikebukuro is by far the best for shopping, eating and drinking. 'the b' is very easy to find, basically you take Exit 23 and turn left and walk straight for 5 mins and you'll see the hotel on the left. Unfortunately Exit 23 has only stairs with no lift/escalator, but there's another exit that does, I can't remember which one but it's on YouTube. The hotel is small like all hotels in Japan but has everything you need and really utilised the space well. I was travelling with my wife, 2 small children and a baby, and we ordered the triple room, they've put 3 beds together so there was more than enough space to sleep. There's resturants, bars, convenience stores nearby and yet the hotel is very quiet. Also it's a very nice location for the kids as I felt it was a very safe area, even late at night. Fortunately for us it was cherry blossom season and on our last day we did some exploring around the area and we found a very very nice park behind the hotel with a small traditional temple, needless to say we took lots of photos and they were one of the best photos of the trip as it was very quiet and traditional (unlike some touristy areas) and representative of Tokyo. Overall, I'm in love with this place, can't wait to go back in December.

We stayed at Hotel Wing Ikebukuro after looking for somewhere close enough to the Yamonote Line and reasonably priced. We got a last minute deal here that fit the bill. The staff are super friendly and spoke enough English for us to not use our phrase book. The location suited us for the Yamonote line, but we decided to stay in Shinjuku for our other few days in Tokyo. Each had their benefit. The room was cleanly, but despite being a non-smoking room smelled smokey when we got there. This dissipated over a day or so, but is the reason for the one star off. They offer free things like coffee, soups, facemasks etc in the lobby, there are vending machines and microwaves. There is not anywhere in the room to put your clothes like a wardrobe or drawers westeners might expect, and not room to keep baggage. out of the way. This was the stars off for Facilities. There is an in house restaurant but we did not pay the extra to eat there so can't comment. Recommend for mid-to-budget travel.

We were quite impressed how this little hotel is such a great place to stay at while in Tokyo! The staff is polite, friendly and helpful! The rooms are very clean and immaculate everyday! The buffet breakfast is quite impressive too , with quite a few selections to choose from,. I don’t think anyone can fault their service at all . Excellent customer service overall! Facilities are great and the freebies are just a great bonus! A place to consider when booking a hotel. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you Super Hotel for making our stay such a comfortable and great !

The staff were very helpful for me with a late checkout and then helped me relocate rooms to non-smoking even though it wasn't specified in the booking. The hotel is literally next to JR Itabashi station and you'll see it from the train (1 stop from Ikebukuro on the Saikyo Line). It's only a few stops from Akihabara, Tokyo and Shinjuku so there's plenty to see and do from there. There are restaurants nearby and convenience stores and being a slightly older hotel the rooms are slightly bigger than some of the newer ones I've stayed in. In my room they had a large LCD that had BBC world news on it which was good as I was craving some Eng at the end of my trip.

Checking in was fast and easy. The room was quite small. The bed was big and very comfortable, the best thing about the room. Window gave a view of the surrounding area's building tops. The hotel is no more than 10 minutes walk (depending how fast or slow your pace is) to the Yamanote JR line which takes you around Tokyo city. Around the hotel area are lots of different cafes and restaurants offering different food choices; fast food, local food, simple, DIY (ala BBQ), bars (saw a couple Jazz bars). Ikebukuro is also a big shopping district. Going to the opposite side of the Ikebukuro train station, you can go to the shopping district where you'll find lots of stuff, mostly teenagers/young adult interests like shoes, clothing, video arcades, a movie theatre. Would recommend staying here for a few nights to explore the area.

WOW. There’s literally nothing I don’t like about this hotel. The room was spotless but extremely small like all Japanese hotel which I totally don’t find it as an issue as I am a petite Asian. It’s around 5-10mins walk from Ikebukuro station, with a Family Mart <1min walk away. However, the stretch of road from the train station exit to the hotel seems to be an “entertainment” street but it doesn’t bother me much, in fact, I find it interesting and didn’t felt unsafe walking at night. Ikebukuro is very conveniently located, with direct train (Narita Express) from airport. To be honest, I booked a hotel in Ikebukuro because hotels in Shinjuku & Shibuya are so overpriced but I ended up preferring Ikebukuro over Shinjuku & Shibuya as it is less crowded and has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping places as well. All ladies get to choose 5 items (lotion sachets, shower cap, nail file etc) for free at the reception daily which is a very nice touch, I posted on my IG story and got quite a few PMs from ladies asking me for the hotel’s name. I LOVEEEE the onsen so much that I went there to shower and soak daily instead of using the bathroom in my hotel room. Highly recommend big sized individuals who find the bathroom in hotel room too small to go to the onsen to shower instead if you don’t mind being naked in front of others. The breakfast was free for all guest and it was super delicious!!! Huge variety and tasted so healthy yet delicious! The hotel uses ionic water, which is supposed to be healthier? Bring a water bottle with you as the hotel provides water cooler. Also, if you opt out of the room cleaning service, towels will still be provided daily (they hang outside the door) & they will reward you with free bottled water. This hotel practise no check out at the reception so you can just leave the room and you’re “checked out”. I rarely dedicate so much of my time to type such a long review but this hotel is so worth it! Highly recommend to anyone visiting

The first thing that prompted me to book this hotel is definitely the washing and drying machine. However, keep in mind, it will usually take at least 3 hours to complete the whole cycle! First pack of laundry soap is free, but then you have to buy it for only 30 yen!!! The room itself is not spacious, but it is pretty new. However, the bathroom is much bigger than most business hotel with a huge tub as well. One thing to keep in mind, there is no room service for 6 days or less, but the cleaning stuff will change your garbage and linens. Again, I'm not a messy person, so it wasn't a big deal. Plus, I never understand people who treat the hotel room as a garbage dump. One thing I find it irritating is the air-conditioner's light really disturbs my sleep because it's so bright, but I don't think there's anything I could do about that except turn the air-con off. Also, the hotel does not provide cups for tea etc. It would be nice to at least have a cup for the tea packs near the electric kettle and microwave. The hotel's security is really top-notched. You need a key card in order to go into the elevator and up to your floor. The location is perfect as it is in the heart of Ikebukuro and is near the JR train station. As many of you have pointed out, take the West C6 exit, then turn left on the main street once you are up the escalator until you see a 7-11, then turn left again and you'll see it on your right pretty soon. There are many restaurants open at night near the area as well. The staff is attentive and speaks pretty well English (although I've also used my minimum Japanese as well). One girl in glasses tried to help me about delivering my luggage to Narita Airport. If the price is right again, I will definitely book this hotel. Overall: 9/10

The hotel is located at a very convenient location. Close to JR station & Sunshine city. The restaurant & stuff is relatively cheap in Ikebukuro. It's so nice that there's free gift (face lotion) when check in. The room is small but it's what I expected. The rate is ok when compare with the location & size. The rate of twin bed is same as double bed. So I think it's a very good choice for someone who need twin bed in Tokyo.

It's located in a quiet area yet very near the busy night life around the Ikebukuro station. Fun walking between the station and hotel. lots of cafes, restaurants and bars. It's sometimes a bit bothering when guys on street want to promote their bars and restaurants and kind of fun as well. There are a 7-11 and a nice tapas bar near the hotel. Beside the hotel located a strange storage belonging to a private loan company. They have lots of random sculptures and other stuff just in front the building. They amused us every morning. The hotel itself is small and clean. Our room is tiny and very clean. Each floor has a microwave and a fridge. They have towels, shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer and a teli. They have free wi-fi in the rooms. For Japanese hotel expense standard, this hotel is indeed more than how much it costs.

It takes around 5-8 mins walk to the nearest exit of the JR station, which is very favorable. And it is very near to the crowded area of Ikebukuro, which means there are a lots of restaurant that is nice for handing out and also open till midnight. The staffs are nice and really helpful, they've been really nice to us that they even helped to heat the food with microwave which I got from Familymart nearby (yes, there is two convenient store nearby the hotel and another one on the other side of the road) which he didn't have to so. The position is easy to find also. Overall I will be staying in this hotel in the future. Strongly recommended.

There are positive and negative reviews on this hotel. To be honest, my first impression of this hotel is slightly dated with no facilities. However, I was surprised when I entered my unit 305 to note that for a twin room, it has ample space for me and my friend to store our 2 big luggages. Note that in Japan room size is small especially for a centralized location. For the minimal amount paid per night stay, we are getting a real good deal. In addition, the room was clean and we inspected the corners and no dust was found. Daily housekeeping service is included in the package. The bathroom is very small and cramp but fitted with a powerful shower head and necessities like shampoo and bath gel. There is an attached washing basin near the door entrance with white light which works wonder for our perfect make-up! Tooth brush sets, hair bands, shower caps, body sponges etc are also provided free of charge. Location is excellent with a mere 5-10 minutes walk to JR/Seibu Ikebukuro station. It is also convenient to take N'EX from Narita airport to reach JR Ikebukuro station directly. There is a famous ramen restaurant with daily long queues just beside the hotel. The only disadvantages are the lack of free wifi, small ground lobby and lift. Otherwise, this is a great no-frills hotel stay and everything else will appear to be bonuses :)

This hotel locates at Kitagochi exit of JR Ikebukuro Station where most of the pubs and whorehouses are in vicinity. As a female travelling in Tokyo alone, I feel quite uncomfortable walking around the area after 10pm. Its only around 7 minutes walk from JR Ikebukuro Station (Minami-exit / Kita-exit). Nice and tidy room. Helpful staff at reception though most of them could not speak English (Out of the 8 staff members that I came across during my stay in this hotel, only 1 could speak English). During my stay in Tokyo, i got a flu and had not been feeling well. I had been vomitting and diarrhea for 2 days. I went to the reception and ask if there would be any clinics nearby which opened on Staurday. The receptionist (he was the only one who could speak English) had tried to search through the net and found one for me. He then drew a map and showed me the way to that clinic in great details. I also asked if they could help me to wash my clothes since they got my vomit on it. He explained that the hotel could not help to wash clothes with vomit on. But then he again showed me the way to a coin laundry nearby and drew me a map for the way to that coin laundry again. The next day he saw me going out, he asked if I was feeling better already and wish me good day. It has been very touching and I am really thankful for his help. I wrote a thank you card to him and passed to his colleague on the day I checked out. I would also like to take the opportunity in writing this review to express my deepest gratitude to him for all his help and detailed explanations for my speedy recovery so I could enjoy my stay in Tokyo for the remaining days of my journey.

I was very pleased by my stay in the Hotel Ohedo. They are an inexpensive business hotel that gave us a good rate for a ten day stay. The rooms were (for Tokyo!) reasonably large, clean, and with all necessary amenities. The staff were well-trained and friendly; by the second day, the whole day and evening shift knew which room key belonged to whom. I was travelling in a larger group, but we all had different departure days, and the staff also gave me no trouble over hanging out in a friend's room for a while even after I'd already checked out. My only caveats are: there is no elevator to get from the ground level to the lobby level, which is problematic with luggage or if you have accessibility needs. The aircon also seemed to have glitches (making the room much colder than programmed) despite being a very new system, so that I would maybe not stay at the Ohedo at the height of Japanese summer when I can't simpyl turn the aircon off. All in all, this was a very pleasant stay in a convenient location, and very professional hotel staff that were courteous and unfazed by a whole group of foreigners with different departure and arrival dates.

Amazing envoriment, Hotel was just a stone's throw away from the Ikebukuro station, the staff were friendly and ready to help, gladly helped me to make a phone call which I required assistance, without any fuss, the hotel room space was rather small but comfortable, the room was clean, and the bed is very comfortable as well, to top it all up, we really did enjoyed our 7 days stay at Japan thanks to Hotel Resol Ikebukuro, I would no doubt recommend to any friends who are planning to make a trip to Japan. 5 stars and two big thumbs up.

Nice location. Near both JR train station and metro station ( About 5-10mins walk, just depends on your walking speed🤣). Room clean and neat, and much larger than I thought. Able to fully open my 26" luggage. Love their green policy, you may get 2 bottle of distilled water each day if you choose to just tidying up your bedsheets instead of changing it. Best for those who had an issue of directly drinking tap water...

This is my 2nd time booking at Toyoko Inn Ikebukuro. Love the hotel's location, and got it for a great value. Every time I'm booking hotels, Toyoko Inn is always my first choice. The hotel price always include breakfast, which is always a deal breaker for me. This hotel always serves good breakfast. All the staff are very nice, accommodating, and are willing to help. Utilities are amazing. Rooms and toilets are small, but are on point. I also love that this hotel is very close to Ikebukuro JR Station, and lots of restaurants, convenient stores, and more.

The space is great for solo traveler but can be a little pricey. Tho I think its already a good deal as it’s rare to find a serviced residence in tokyo with good location and in-room amenities at this price. The place is more of a residential type so you can’t find 24hrs staff that’ll greet you in the lobby. After getting the key in the main office, you can just go inside the building and no one will bother you. There is caretaker inside the building who is really nice and approachable. He is available during the day and you can just knock on the glass window and he will gladly assist you if you need anything. Overall experience here was comfortable. Pros: • Free taxi ride from the main office to the serviced residence • Good location (metro and shopping area are just walking distance) • Family Mart right across the building. There’s also a nearby 7-11 • Ichiran Ramen is very few steps away Cons: • You need to go to the main office first which require lots of walking (if you’re coming from skyliner train). You many need to prepare yourself esp if you carry big luggages • Trash can inside the bedroom smells so I had to put it out of the room • You cant relax immediately upon arrival to the place as you need to put on the bedsheets yourself

The hotel was nice. The room was small, but you expect that in Japan. It was a 4 or 5 minute walk to the subway. There are many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. This is just a very good hotel if you want to be close to public transportation and plan to spend most of the day and evening out. All I wanted was a place to store my stuff and sleep. It fit the bill.

Wanted to try out a love hotel because we were in Japan and why not! Hotel Varkin was in a good area with many other love hotels around it along with shops and bars and close to a station. You don’t interact with and employees except to check in, but you don’t even see each other’s faces. The room itself was big and spacious and the jacuzzi bathtub was great! Cons would be that we asked for a non-smoking room, but they gave us a smoking room that reeked of cigarettes. Also, the room itself isn’t the cleanest or what you would get at a regular hotel. We also expected to be some vending machines or products we could purchase to play with in the lobby or halls, but there weren’t any. Only 2 complimentary condoms in the room. Other than that, the love hotel was a nice experience. They have adult movies on the tv and free WiFi as well.

We ended up booking this accommodation after Brilliant MK-3 decided to cancel our reservation on the same day, which is already paid and booked more than a week ago before our arrival. This accommodation was the only silver lining of our very bad experience. The room is spacious, with complete set of toiletries, with kitchen, very accommodating owner/manager, with simple breakfast (as he calls it), very near the dining districts, accessible in terms of transportation. I really can’t ask for anything else.

this is by far the best bang for the buck hotel in ikebukuro. if you plan to use yamanote line most of the time, this is the hotel for you if you are a solo traveller. room is very clean and also has mobile phone you can take for free during your stay! fresh towels and robe given daily! Sukiya is just beside it for quick hunger buster. Place is also very quiet! Bus ride to airports is also just across which stops at metropolitan hotel. Lawson, 7-11 and Family are very near as well. So if you are looking for cheap but clean hotel, this is for you!

We booked this hotel as It was a very last minute as we forgot to book a hotel coming back from Osaka back to Tokyo, literally everything was booked out besides hotel. so we passed on that and gave this hotel a try. Even if we didnt try we had no place to stay so we had to book this hotel for one night. To our surprise the stay wasn't so bad. The hotel is in a great location, about 2nd building from the train station exit. Theres food and shopping right outside our footstep or a walk down the road. The hotel was clean, bathroom and toilets weren't together, they were separated, hence why our bathroom was big, the bathtub could of fit 4 people, the shower was strong it was awesome to use in such a big space. Overall wasnt a bad stay as we thought for such a last min stay on a Saturday night when no other hotels were available at all. Staff barely new english but was super helpful, even gave me his phone to call a friend. They has a spa and stuff on floor 9 but for men only. The only down side to it was they had no internet.
