"The Peninsular Excelsior proved to be an excellent choice of hotel. Our room on the 15th floor was fantastic – well furnished, beautifully styled/designed and with all the requirements travellers could want (fridge, mini bar, tea & coffee making, electronic safe, and ample storage)...plus a fantastic bathroom with separate shower and bath. The hotel location is perfect for visitors to Singapore: very close to the riverside area, several shopping malls and within very easy walking distance from the city hall MRT station with most of the main tourist and business areas only a few stops away. Our only disappointment was breakfast: mediocre food, albeit with a wide choice but unpleasantly crowded and a bit of a free-for-all at the breakfast buffet. The room being used on the fifth floor simply was not big enough for the number of people trying to take breakfast at the same time. In part this complaint might be due to tour parties who were there at the time. However, the cost was also disproportionately high for guests like us, whose deal was not breakfast inclusive. We would definitely certainly come here again if visiting Singapore. Hopefully they will have addressed the breakfast issue before we come back – but in any case there is ample choice of alternatives within a short walk. In all other respects I would thoroughly recommend this hotel: good value, brilliant room, excellent location and good service. "
