Reviewed yesterday I stayed 4 nights in a Harbour View room. Room is of decent size in this location. Room - modern, chic and clean. The sofa and coffee by the window is a nice touch. I enjoyed having my meal there overlooking the harbour. Service - overall very attentive and friendly. From the doorman, to housekeeping attendants. Am actually surprised by how friendly the housekeeping and restaurant staff are. And most of them seem genuine too. I’d like to give a special shout out to front staff Matthew, a young gentlemen with a nice smile who also helped me get on a taxi; Kevin at the reception who was very patient despite being swamped with a lobby full of guests waiting to be served. He’s detailed, accommodating and empathetic, which I really appreciated. Restaurant/food - The breakfast at the restaurant upstairs have a good selection, including a healthy vegetarian option of scrambled egg white and sautee mushroom on a toasted sourdough spread with avocado. On the side is spinach and pan-fried sweet potatoes cake topped with walnut and maple syrup. The breakfast set also comes with a small plate of watermelon and quinoa salad and a mango smoothie. The portion is just right. Service is friendly, attentive and efficient. Thank you Wendy and the other Chinese lady with glasses and short hair who did their best to serve all the diners. Gym - another worth mentioning feature of the hotel. Compact size but a wide range of brand new high-tech equipments. There’s towel and water supply. Unfortunately I only managed to have a quick walk on the treadmill. All things considered, I’d say the price point of this hotel is reasonable. It is nice to have a new, boutique hotel in such a central location where majority of hotels are quite dated. I’d come back to Mondrian hotel again and I’d recommend it to my friends and family too.
