The room itself is small but a solo travel is okay. I got shocked on the last day when the check out timing is 12 pm and the cleaner tried to open my room at 11 am. FYI, when you reach ikebukuro station head to west exit (central) and exit from C9 (lift) and once you exit turn to your right and go straight for about 10 min and you will reach the hotel. It is right beside domino pizza store. If you’re looking for a drug store, it’s just further up from the hotel which is big and tax free (I recommend it as there’s a lot of selection)
The facilities were a bit on the older side, but overall I was very satisfied with my stay. The staff member at the front desk was extremely kind. I had to store my luggage separately from my travel companions, which was a bit inconvenient, but they assured me it was no problem and kept everything for us without any hesitation. I was really grateful for that. All the amenities were prepared on the first floor, so I could pick up anything I needed, and the room itself had almost everything as well, which was great. The location is a little far from the station—about a 10-minute walk—so it might be a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. But the service was so good that I would love to stay here again on my next visit.
It takes about a 10-minute walk to Ikebukuro Station, and there are many passing lines, making the transportation convenient. Shibuya and Shinjuku are also really close. The room is clean, and you can leave your key at the lobby, and they will clean every day after you go out, from tidying up the bedding to disinfecting the bathroom. The hygiene condition is good, and the water flows really well. The bedding is very comfortable, and I fell asleep within ten minutes of laying my head down. However, all the lights are in yellow tones and it's a bit dark, which was inconvenient for putting on makeup. Everything else was great.
I booked a double room on Agoda, but it didn’t specify whether it was a smoking or non-smoking room. Unfortunately, we were assigned to a smoking room. When I asked if we could move, the front desk staff (a guy) was quite rude and insisted that the ‘agency’ specifically requested a smoking room — which I definitely didn’t. To my surprise, Agoda apparently allows third-party groups to handle bookings on their site! We ended up leaving the air conditioner on the whole time we were out just to help neutralize the smoke smell. The scent of cigarette smoke was strong throughout the floor, elevator, and even the lobby. If you don’t smoke, I don’t recommend booking here. The location, though, is within walking distance from the nearest station exit — a bit of a walk but manageable.

“It's very good for the price.”
The hotel in Tokyo was quite expensive, so since I was traveling alone and had lived in Japan before, I thought it would be cost-effective and made a reservation. The hotel certainly looked old from the outside, but it seemed well-managed. They cleaned my room nicely every day when I handed them the key, and there were staff members at the front desk 24/7. I encountered about five staff members, and none of them were unfriendly. Everyone was kind and tried to accommodate any requests I had. The hot water was excellent; just a slight turn would mix well with cold water, and the shower pressure was good. If there's a downside, it's that the lighting is yellow, which makes it a bit dark? That's the only thing. I had arranged a private luggage transport service from the hotel to the airport, and I explained it on checkout day, and they communicated it well, so I received my luggage safely at the airport! It was very comfortable and nice for solo staying. However, it might not be suitable for those who expect complete cleanliness like in modern hotels. I have traveled alone in Japan quite often, so I think this was the best value for money in Tokyo prices. It takes about 8 minutes to walk to Ikebukuro Station at a women's pace. There are various Don Quijote and convenience stores nearby, and even when compared to a few other liquor stores across the street, it's cheap. I would be willing to use this hotel again next time.
