Very Good!”
Very Good! Nice!
A friendly, relaxed weekend away”
Kodo Kodo Guest House has a laid back relaxed, family atmosphere. We were the only Western guests there but were made to feel very welcome by the woman running the place and the other guests who loved playing with our two young daughters. We were even invited to join their fireworks party one evening, and everyone joined in for a group photo on our last day there. Our room and the shared toilet/bathroom were spotlessly clean. Even though the bedroom wasn't on-suite it wasn't a problem as we never experienced a queue. The guest house is only a short drive to some lovely beaches and about 10 minutes to Shimoda town. A great place for a relaxed weekend break if you want to take things at your own pace.
Very Worthwhile”
Really pleasant stay. Owner and staff were excellent. Felt like they were long time friends. Kodo Kodo Guest House is located in a secluded quiet native bush environment. It's incredibly peaceful. Yumigahama beach is a little far by foot but if you don't have a car, somebody from Kodo Kodo will drive you to and from the beach. The guest house is beautifully furnished with Indonesian teak furniture and a humorous 'frog' theme throughout the house. Rooms are clean and very comfortable with easy access on both floors to large, comfortable and clean bathrooms. The cooked breakfast was a little on the small side but there was an endless supply of toast and delicious home made plum jam to take care of that. I highly recommend this place.
A gem of a guest house”
It was a pleasure to stay here. The owner is not typical for Japanese hospitality staff. Instead of impeccably fastidious and catering to the "customer god", she is genuinely warm, open, and friendly. I stayed here for one night incidentally, as part of a cycling trip. But I would come back just for the relaxing time I was able to enjoy in this little corner of Japan. The breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good. This guest house is an incredible deal.
comfortable and spacious!”
I had visited Izu peninsula with my family to enjoy free style trip in this area. We bought good fishes on our way to Guest house and made our dinner by our self, afterwards had a sudden memorable drinking party with owner. She is very kind and sensitive personality who try to keep distance between guests to make themselves comfortable. We had good talk and shared fun time over good dishes and wine, which made us unforgettable trip in my life. As everything in this area is quite cheep, you can buy fresh shrimp, fishes and vegetable with a reasonable price. I bet I will come back this place again in the future!
