We are very happy that we made a choice to stay in Grand Zuri Pekanbaru Hotel. It is a strategic place, easy to find Muslim food and there are two shopping complex nearby. The staff and reception are very helpful and friendly. Only one bad experience. Be careful when you go for hotel massaging. The massaging lady tends to force you to pay a big tip. She does not want to accept 10,000 rupiah as tips and ended up taking 60,000 rupiah as tips which I found it to be ridiculous and massage was not done satisfactorily.

Good staff but troubled hotel”
For a very provincial city in Indonesia, the Grand Zuri Pekanbaru is probably of a high standard, but that's a minimum expectation given that it's not particularly cheap, with rooms starting at around. The main drawback is the noise. While very centrally located, with convenient access to malls and restaurants, the surrounding area is extremely noisy (traffic, mosques, commercial and light industrial units, exercise groups being directed by megaphone at 6.30am, etc). Given that the windows are very thin, the hotel itself is also very noisy. Banging doors often make internal walls shudder. Even with earplugs in, I found it impossible to sleep past 5.30am two days running, and this was after repeatedly moving rooms to try to find a quieter one. I believe there is no "quiet" room in the hotel at all; it's all relative. There are also many other smaller problems. The free wifi did not work for 2.5hrs after I arrived (when it did, it was reasonably quick, enough to sustain skype). The room key I was initially given had to be re-authorised at least daily. The business centre is not 24hrs but is frequently closed even during office hours. The toilet constantly refilled, creating a whining noise. The shower door was broken. The standard of clealiness was not great and the bathroom in particular was starting to look quite grubby. Maintenance doesn't seem that great and the hotel is beginning to look tatty around the edges. On the plus side, the staff was really excellent. Their motto is "we know how to please you"(!). When I complained about the noise they took it very seriously and moved me around, eventually upgrading me to a junior suite (a little less noisy but not much). They also solicited feedback on other areas of the hotel. The waiting staff in the restaurant - where the food is very good and still cheap by Western standards - were faultlessly polite. The staff do seem committed to making sure you enjoy your stay and - perhaps especially for Western visitor

i choose grand zuri as our corporate hotel at pekan baru. and i thing i do a right choice. location in the central of the city, lose to shopping center, easy to access transportation, great facility for business like meeting room, helpful staff, and if you need place to hang out, you just need a step. price? its whorted. overall, its a great place to stay.

Although only staying one night, but I'm very comfortable with the atmosphere of the hotel, the atmosphere of the room is clean and tidy. At the time, I occupied a room overlooking the city, so I can enjoy the beautiful view Pekanbaru city at night. The location is close to shopping centers, makes it easy for me to look for my needs, such as snacks and others. Friendly service from hotel staff also made me feel comfortable staying at the hotel Grand Zuri, and do not forget to breakfast menu so complete and a lot of choices.

It was a good pleasure during our stay in Grand Zuri. The best thing of the hotel is located in the centre of Pekanbaru. You can easily walk to reach Mall Pekanbaru, stores, and restaurant. The room was standard, not so big, not too small. The room always being cleaned everyday. It's a little bit pricey, but they win the location.

I was arrived in the late afternoon and still have a room with my preference : non smoking room in the high floor, nice. The hotel location is in walking distance to shopping mall and to the main street of Pekanbaru city. The room was clean. LCD TV screen is big, very convenient. Check in and check out process are simple and fast. One area of improvement is the number of power outlet, no power outlet in the toilet for shaving and no power outlet beside the bed.

Before I purchase this hotel voucher, I read 1 review about poor service in check in process. I thought it was just an accident but it happened to me. I wait for more than 45 minutes to get the room that I have paid through agoda 3 days before. The hotel location is grear, just cross Pekanbaru Mall and sorrounding by food stalls.
