We loved our stay, extended twice.”
Check-in was fast and efficient. All the staff were extremely friendly, helpful, energetic and seemed to really enjoy their jobs and helping guests. The food options and quality were awesome. Everything very clean. The water park is a fun bonus, even for those kids over 60 years old. Location is a bit remote, costly to get around, so if your wanting to explore the area that may be a challenge. We loved it, extended twice, didn’t want to leave. We will miss the staff, they are so fun and friendly.

The hotel was mostly wonderful. Due to Covid, there were very few guests, which was nice. The staff is very friendly and attentive everywhere. The location overall is lovely but the beach was always very windy. Not sure if it was just during our visit or if it is a permeant feature of the beach here. The water park looks really fun but the slides are on the older side and hurt your butt or back. We only went once. The buffet is really good, with lots of options, fresh, yummy. For dinner we had to choose one of a few restaurants. We loved Las Barcas-the Mediterranean restaurant and the Italian restaurant. We really did not like the Japanese restaurant because it too a long time to get served and the menu and the offerings did not match. The Tex-Mex restaurant was fine but they did not follow the menu exactly either. For example, a meal consisted of 6 ingredients and they only gave us 3 or 4 and were surprised when I wanted all of it. These concerns are pretty small and I would go back

Not as fancyas the Barcelo resort, but better value for money. Staff were mostly very friendly, pool wasn't that clean (plastic cups and gloves on the bottom) but that probably had more to do with the guests than the staff.

Disappointing experience”
I picked this resort over other options when I was searching because the resort website said it was renovated in 2018. The resort set-up, rooms, pool, beach were all good, however, the quality of service was very poor. I have to say that the staff was very friendly. The cleanness of the restaurant, and bars were highly questionable. The reusable cups at the bar were only rinsed off, and it was very disappointing. Bartenders were serving the drinks by holding the glasses from lip edges. Handling ice cube bags were very poor. The staff makes loud jokes among themselves and talks too loud at the theme restaurants, and it was hard to hear each other. First-aid kid was not available, and I had to clean the scratch on my elbow with vodka from the bar. A sign which says "employees must wash hands before turning back to work" for staff needs to be placed at the washrooms. I think the staff needs to be trained what to do and what not to do. I wish I should have picked another resort.

Got sick because of the food…”
The hotel is nice, beautiful gardens. It is big, but you can’t really feel it because of its layout! Nice rooms. Unfortunately, it has the worst beach I have ever seen, so much seaweed, they even put a net across the ocean to stop it, but that just makes it look even worse. I went to this hotel with my family because we were invited to a wedding. That was the only reason we stayed at this hotel since I already knew it was not a very good hotel after I read some reviews and I saw the start rating. But we had the wedding, we were around 60 people so it was just easy to stay in the same hotel. 4 out of 5 people just from my family got sick, including myself. Also half of the party of 60 were also sick, that I know, not everybody likes to share that they have diarrhea. I believe it was the food. Most of the times we ate at the buffet the food was cold, it tasted good, but cold. So it you leave food just slightly warm instead of at the right temperature, it will start to grow bacteria. I am pretty sure that’s what happens there. Then in our way to the airport, our driver told us that 99% of the people he picks up from there get sick. And it’s not just diarrhea, also stomachache and vomiting. We usually go once to twice a year to hotels out of the country, this was our fourth time in Dominican Republic. And this was the first time we got sick in our vacation. Never again Grand Sirenis. At least we met very nice workers. Lucas from the lobby has been the most welcoming and attentive staff member ever! Thank you so much Lucas!!! Also if you are already there, and if you need help with the reservations for the restaurants, Yaque, he is from Jamaica, he is the best! Don’t waste your time with anyone else, he is amazing! Thank you Yaque!!! We hope to see you in Jamaica one day!

Honest Review”
Once we arrived the staff was very friendly and attentive. They speak English so if your Spanish is not that good..no worries. Food was good, the pool had some entertainment and a swim up bar. Saw lots of families and couples from all over enjoying themselves. Overall I would recommend a stay here, was not too expensive and no one’s bothers you… I hope my little review of my experience here helps.
