We recently stayed at the Furama City Centre and overall had a nice time. The basics were covered – our room was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable, and the kids absolutely loved the pool (honestly, it saved us during the post-shopping sugar crashes). The location is also fantastic – a hop, skip and a sambal away from Chinatown, the MRT, buses, and enough food options to test the limits of your stretchy pants. Now, onto the part of the review where I gently roast the place like a satay stick. Let’s start with the ambience. When you step out of the lift, you’re greeted with a musty aroma that can only be described as “vintage basement with a twist of damp carpet.” This fragrance seems to be sponsored by the hallway water dispenser – a lovely touch, but judging by the state of the carpet beneath it, it may have moonlighted as a water feature. The hallway carpet itself is having an identity crisis – half rug, half peeling linoleum, all crime scene. If it were a person, it would definitely be wearing Crocs with socks and quietly muttering about its glory days in the early 2000s. Inside the room, things improved. It was clean and relatively spacious – though our shower had a bit of a rebellious streak. The showerhead pointed directly across the shower, which is great if you’re 6ft tall and enjoy making eye contact with tiles while bathing. Not so ideal for kids. Or anyone shorter than a basketball player. Tilting it meant spraying the bathroom like you were hosing down a rebellious cat. The TV offered a handful of channels – just enough to remind you that you’re on holiday and should probably be outside eating satay, not watching reruns of something vaguely familiar in a different language. Tea and coffee facilities were appreciated, but the only milk on offer was milk powder – the sad ghost of real milk. A bit like saying, “Here’s your hot drink, now imagine enjoying it. Would re return, I would say probably, comfy, convenient, and for the short time you're in the room a great view of the city.
I had a great stay at Furama City Centre. The staff were excellent—very welcoming and accommodating. The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance and easy access to transportation. Just a small note: the bathroom had a few dark spots, and I noticed some dust under the bed when retrieving my earphones. Overall, though, it was a comfortable and convenient experience, and I’d gladly stay again.

We had an enjoyable stay at Furama City Centre. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was its convenient location—perfectly positioned between two MRT stations and just a short walk to Chinatown. This made getting around the city incredibly easy. The hotel is connected to two slightly dated, Chinatown-style malls via a covered bridge, which added a touch of character and made exploring nearby shops and amenities very convenient. Although we didn’t dine at the hotel due to the abundance of great food options in the area, we were initially interested in their weekend high tea buffet. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available during our stay due to low demand. Our room was comfortable overall, but there were a couple of accessibility quirks. For guests with slower or weaker mobility, the heavy room door and the firm flush button could be a bit challenging. We had to figure out the right timing between scanning the key card and quickly pushing the door open, which took a bit of getting used to. On the plus side, the city view from our window was captivating—especially at night. It was a lovely detail that added to the experience.

We stayed at Furama City Centre in Singapore from 16th to 20th September 2025, booking two superior rooms for 4 adults and 1 child — and we absolutely loved our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with kindness and respect by all the staff. Everyone — from the older bellman, reception team, cleaners, to the breakfast staff — was friendly, helpful, and professional. Our luggage was taken up to our room once it was ready, which made check-in smooth and easy. The rooms were clean, and the hotel offered self-service amenities, on-site laundry, a pool, and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere throughout. Breakfast was included and well managed. The location was perfect, close to shops, attractions, and transport, and it was always easy to get a taxi or ask the bellman for assistance. This was a stress-free, pleasant stay, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to families, groups of friends, or anyone visiting Singapore. We felt well taken care of and truly appreciated the hospitality.
