Fantastic hostel ”
I booked for 1 night on the basis that it was a little expensive compared to other budget hostels, but Fun-D is so incredibly clean, comfortable and just lovely that I stayed another 2 nights. It's a great place to 'treat' yourself to some luxury as a budget backpacker. It has a great chill out room, with cushions on the floor, a flat screen TV and DVD's - although I didn't watch anything so not sure how good the selection is. Free internet usage and wifi - both great quality. The rooms are massive, the beds comfortable, with your own reading light, plug socket and locker. Security is really high too so you feel completely safe. I think the staff even change your sheets everyday, or at least make your bed! The showers are superb, with hot water. There's also DIY laundry service for a fee. The only very very small negative is that, considering the price you pay and how great everything is, the breakfast is a little poor. Yes it's a buffet , but it's just tea/coffee, toast and banana. An egg, fruit salad or pancakes would be a fantastic addition and make it perfect. The location is not central either, you'll be walking at least 10/15 mins to the Sat walking market, bar street and bus station which was ok for me but be warned. The Sun walking market is even further away - I hired a motorbike to get there. The place is also very big and can feel a little empty. There were just two us for the first 2 nights and then we had two more people join. It can be a little difficult to meet people because of that. Although I had some great room mates so just depends I guess. Great place to stay though - best backpackers place I've stayed in. Would go back in a heartbeat. Worth the extra few dollars!

Brilliant hostel.. I felt very comfortable during my stay there. Bathrooms are impeccably clean, so are the dorm rooms. Breakfast and other food is rather basic , but that is justified given the price. Something I did not expect was the entertainment room where you can watch DVDs on a widescreen TV. The staff are very nice as well. I would happily return for another stay at Fun D!

Clean and quiet environment ”
The place cleanliness is tip top. Staff are very helpful. Two things that need to compliment the staff and the owner. Firstly, offer to help us get stamp and send out the post card for my friend and on the last day, send us to bus terminal. Show us the way to get around the city. Breakfast is provided even though the choice is limited but still a good gesture for the price they are charging. Well done and will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone on agoda looking for accommodation in Chiang Rai.

Absolutely BRILLIANT!”
Staying at the Fun-D was a great choice!! The staff are absolutely superb and INCREDIBLY helpful with any requests we had. The hostel is clean and has everything that you would need! We had a private en-suite room which was great (the bed was a bit hard but we had been warned in the North of Thailand that this is a common ocurence).

One of the better hostels of my trip. Staff were amazing: friendly and helpful. Location isn't right on the middle of the busy area of Chiang rai, but only took 5 minutes to walk to the centre. Preferred that location. Found that people didn't really socialise too much with each other however.

Fun D was absolutely amazing! The location is fine (you're about 5-10 minutes away from the center). The rooms, toilets and (hot!)showers are clean. They have an excellent safety system which allows you only into your own room. Breakfast (toast, jam, banana, cornflakes, coffee&tea) is fine and for free. The bunkbeds are really high, so the lower bunk has enough space to be able to sit up straight. Each bed has curtains for privacy and own reading light and socket. Would highly recommend!!

A great place to stay”
I was originally going to stay only 1 night and ended up staying 4. It's about a 10 minute walk from the night market and bus station so the location is convenient. The staff is super friendly and sweet. The breakfast is somewhat disappointing but hey, it's free. The whole place is super clean. It's a little on the pricy side compared to other hostels in chiang rai and thailand in general but it's probably also one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. There is also excellent wifi in the rooms as well!

Not the cheapest, but a quiet luxurious hostel”
Actually a hostel with hotel infrastructure. Big, convenient dormitories, breakfast is included (tea/coffee, fruits, cereals), cheap laundry service, good wifi and cozy television room and lobby. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great people and atmosphere. It is located a little bit far from the city centre/bus terminal 1 (10 minutes walk), but I would stay here again for sure.

Great place to stay in Chiang Rai”
On arriving I was greeted by Ant who made me feel most welcome. Having never stayed in a hostel before, I booked this on recommendation and took the deluxe double. Nothing hostel about it!! It was large, bright,airy, well equipped and very clean. Bed was firm but most comfortable. Common room was ideal with the computers available and the restaurant bar area was full of life. When I went down for a drink or food I esaily fell into conversation with others guests. All in all a great choice! Would highly recommend. Thank you Ant, Nicki and Paul

The location restaurants near the hostel provide some of the best food in town ridiculously cheap at 30 baht for curry and rice noodles and soups. Don't wait for your clothes to dry there is a tumble dryer free of charge house keeping will help you out with your laundry requirements on request. Access to a computer is available if you don't have your own in the air conditioned common room.

A just nice hostel that have all you need~”
The stuff of the hostel is very friendly and they are willing to help you out with anything you need. If you need travel and tour information, just feel free to ask them. The room is very comfortable and the toilet is very clean and large too~ worth it for a nice few days stayed!!!

Really great!”
It was really great! We stayed there nights and the second night was difficult because of rude and inconsiderate roommates but we asked to move for the next night and the staff happily helped without any additional costs. Other than that we hung out with the other hostel mates and watched movies and did sightseeing together it was a blast! I highly recommend!

Clean, spacious rooms, outside center. ”
It's a bit outside center but I felt worth it. I motorbiked which made the location fine and walked there once and it was pretty quick, 15 minutes maybe. The mixed dorm was nice and clean, good ac and roomy. You have a curtain on the long side of your bed for a little touch of privacy. The negative in the room was that the bathroom is right there in the room with slate door so you can hear everything going on in there. But whatever, I'd go back. They got a cab for me to the airport for 150. Breakfast isnt always included so I can't complain about some toast, cereal, and a banana before I head out the door.

Clean hostel very helpful staff”
It was good the staff helped alot and the hostel was super clean. The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced. It was just a bit of a walk to the centre at night it was pretty dark for the walk.

Nice room. Doesn't have a hostel vibe ”
As a couple it was our first time into Thailand. We booked into a hostel on hope that we would meet some other travellers. The only other person we saw was 1 guy that never left the free usage of the computers downstairs. Of a evening the place is more of a local restaurant than a hostel environment. The rooms where clean and pretty comtable so no complaints there. Breakfast consists of toast, jam and bannanas. It's about a 10 min walk to the night bazaar. The staff was helpful in booking a day trip for us. Overall clean and friendly. Just not a hostel vibe.

Great hostel”
The staff was very nice and friendly and the hostel was exceptionally clean. It's a bit on the pricier side for a hostel in Thailand but for the cleanliness, awesome wifi, and overall comfort I felt that it was worth it. The breakfast wasn't anything great, just some cereal, bananas, and toast but it did the trick. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it/stay again!

Nice Place to chill ”
I booked 1 night and ended up staying 3. This hostel is great,clean, has laundry space, etc. But it is kinda far from the Night Bazar. (15 minuts walk) During the day it is ok, but at night not that recomandable to walk alone. However, loved the place.
