"We stayed at the Vincci Capitol as we had one day/night in Madrid in transit before heading to London. Was very relieved to find that the hotel was in an easily accessible location near the centre of Madrid. At first glance, you could almost miss the entrance because it was part of a theatre building and the hotel entrance is covered by darkened glass. We were delighted to find that the rooms were of a very good quality, a tad on the futuristic modern side, with glass covered wardrobes and flat screen TV. Sleep quality was excellent because we could hardly hear the sounds on the busy streets below from the 5th floor, and the blinds effectively cut out all the outside light. I'd definitely come back to stay at the Vincci Capitol again when we have more time in Madrid in the future... "

"We were looking for a comfortable spacious hotel for our group vacation and found the Eurostars at Mirasierra to be actually much more beautiful than we expected. The beds were really comfortable and we really enjoyed to have a bath-tub and full mini-bar. One thing was a bit disappointing, as we had specifically looked for a hotel with wellness facilities and realised at the location that the use of the pool was not included for hotel guests and would be an additional 18 Euro per person (sauna and turkish bath were included, but the turkish bath was unfortunately not working properly and had a very unpleasant smell on the vapor of the room - probably bad waters. So we only used the Sauna, which had no temperature meter as well, I can tell you it was very, very, hot). We walked every day 10 minutes to the Metro-Station and took the train to the center of Madrid, an additional 35-40 minutes depending on which route you take. So that is also something to take in consideration!"

"The room is very basic, but generally clean (there were a few dark spots in the bathroom.grout at the floorthat is probably the beginning of mold). There is a notice on the wall asking that guests not place suitcases on the built in desk shelf which seems reasonable. But, it would be great if the hotel then provided a luggage rack. I had only an overnight bag so set it on the mini-bar refrigerator. The air onditionong worked well and the room was really quiet when the window was closed. That was really good for Grand Via. The elevator was really weird and I was never sure when it would work. I tended to just use the stairs. Generally a basic room in the center of the tourist area of Madrid that is clean and quiet at a reasonable price. "

"Had another great stay at this hotel. Due to their reduced summer rates a very pleasant experience. Higly recommendable 5-star hotel. Treatment is very preferrential at all times. No waiting at check-in or check-out. Beds were excellent. All in all it is a brand new hotel and up to the latest standards in all possible ways. Location is outside of Madrid, very close to the airport, but absolutely no negative influence in terms of noise. The metro station is about 400 meters avay and easy to find. If you don't like the hotel bar, there are a few very small local bars on the way to the metro. They are very busy at lunch- and nighttime. Not the best choice for a city visit as the metro ride into town takes about 3 minutes, but it has so many positive points abour it that it might be worth the hassle. "

"I travelled to Madrid by train and chose this hotel as it was close to the Madrid Chamartin station. I was greeted politely but then given the wrong room. I had booked a family room (two communicating double rooms) as I was travelling with my daughter and her companion. They gave me a room with just two single beds and told me they would put a third one in there! When my daugher arrived she helped me sort the situation out. I insisted that they look on-line at the website to see the description of the room. On closer inspection of the booking they accepted their mistake and gave us the room we booked. This is the second time I have trouble with abooking so maybe the instructions sent to the hotels are not 100% clear. It stated "1 room" on the booking although Family room is clearly two rooms. Everything was fine once we got the right room and we had a lovely stay."

"We stayed in Espahotel Plaza de Espana for two nights which was a very old run down hotel but the room was very spacious with a small kitchen; might be good for family stay. The location was very good which was close to the city centre and Royal Palace of Madrid; only about five minutes’ walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid. There was no free parking provided; you needed to pay Euro 22 to park your car in a public parking garage near the hotel. The front desk guy was not very friendly who had never bothered to say hello to us or gave us a smile when we passed him a number of times during our stay. "

When I asked how to get to the city center, bus stop was just opposite side of the hotel. Not a long bus ride and the metro stop where the bus ends will bring you anywhere in the city of madrid"

More about Madrid

Madrid is Spain’s capital city, and a favorite among world travelers. The modern metropolis is home to some of the most stunning architecture and artistic heritage in Europe. The city attracts many visitors, and there’s no shortage of accommodations or activities in this cosmopolitan city. Gothic cathedrals and immense neo-classical buildings are abundant throughout the city, while the centrally-located Plaza Mayor functions as the city's public meeting place and administrative center.

Hotels near Madrid-Barajas International Airport are linked to Madrid city center via metro, or travelers can easily find a Madrid city center hotel around Opera and Sol, the two most popular zones in the city center.

The major museums in the city are located near metro stops and sightseers can walk from one to the next. Many Madrid hotels are near city attractions, including the famous Museo Del Prado, which is home to an impressive classical art collection. Art enthusiasts would do well to visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art, which contains masterpieces by renowned artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso.

Among Madrid’s stunning architecture is of course the Palacio Real , a massive palace where one can spend hours imagining what life must have been like for Spain’s royals.

Madrid’s Park of the Pleasant Retreat, known locally as El Retiro, is a massive public park offering a natural escape in the middle of the city. It’s easy to see why this natural treasure is often referred to as the Central Park of Madrid. There’s no shortage of exciting nightlife in Madrid, and the locals are just as active participants as the vacationers in the city.
