    “El Faro 13, a hidden gem 💎”

    Things I like
    Keisha, the housekeeper, hostess, tour guide, and everything you need her to be, helped me with feeling very comfortable with my space. They provided insect repellent for the mosquitoes 🦟 at night, and it worked so much so that I was able to enjoy my window being opened to appreciate the lovely garden view and sounds of nature. I am grateful I had the privilege to try Luis's best vegan burger patty I have ever eaten! And, Keisha's tuna pasta was very delicious, too 😋. I loved my room! It is spacious, comfortable bed, hot showers when the setting is on less pressure. I loved feeling comfortable out in nature, and I will choose to come back here again. The location is perfect for the quietness out in nature, and close enough to walk to the town's center and the beach ⛱️. I, definitely, got my bang for my bucks. I saw a mom & baby Sloth 🦥 on my first day which was so very special to watch them play.
    Things I don’t like
    I didn't appreciate being met by all of the construction materials at the beginning of the cabinas' walking path. It was quite confusing to see so much stuff piled next to the place where guests can sit or leave their belongings upon arrival or when they leave. Those materials should be properly stored away from the guests' entrance and view; it takes away from the very lovely charm and experience of the cabinas. And, those building materials are a hazard for children or anyone not careful of their step. I would suggest a light placed near the Bed for moving around in the dark. I didn't like having to waste electricity in the night because the bathroom light was left on all night because I may be in bed, but not necessarily ready for sleep 😴 at times, or because I wanted to watch my step if I got up for the restroom. The name of the place is hidden behind a beautiful floral tree 🌳

    “Nice stay and great staff”

    Things I like
    The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was a fine size. Communal areas were great for making meals and storing food. Also a short walk from the centre of town. Good value for money.
    Things I don’t like
    Obviously it's cheaper than most accommodation so walls are paper thin and a divider for the bathroom.

    The owner was super helpful and helped us get to Panama, he has a pdf file he created to tell you all you need to know when traveling to puerto viejo!

    “jungle stay in the village”

    Things I like
    super great internet, patio, outdoor kitchen, lovely host who told us a lot about the area and gave us great tips where to buy food etc., spacious room, I higly recommend it.
    Things I don’t like
    hard to find at the firs time, a little walk from the main road, but still there are lamps overnight so you do not walk in the darkness

    “Faro 13 de Puerto viejo”

    Queríamos un sitio tranquilo, apartado del jaleo de Puerto viejo pero que a la vez estuviese cerca de todo. Faro 13 es justo eso, un lugar cerca de todo, a diez mint andando y adentrado en la naturaleza, rodeado de selva. Por la mañana se oían a los monos aulladores dando los buenos días, nos encantó la cantidad de soniditos que se escuchaban de diferentes animales. Uno de los días, al anochecer un mono perezoso estaba en una palmera justo enfrente de nuestra habitación, fue un momento muy especial verlo tan de cerca. En la habitación todo estaba limpio y dormimos muy bien. También había una zona de descanso con unas hamacas y una cocina de uso común. Fue muy práctico poder usar esa cocina para sobre todo algún desayuno. El anfitrión Luis fue de lo más amable con nosotros. Días antes de llegar, nos contactó para darnos indicaciones y resolver cualquier duda que tuviéramos. Durante toda la estancia nos facilitó muchas cosas y nos iba contestando a todo en seguida, la verdad que fue de gran ayuda. Muchas gracias Luis!
