“Good Accomodation Ran by a Mediocre Management”
Our booking was listed as DeFace Platinum Suites, but upon arrival there was no signage indicating this name. We had no choice but to call the contact number, and only then were informed that the property was actually called The Face Suites, and gave us brief instructions on where to check in. Parking was already confusing from the start. We were told not to park in the carpark during the call and to stop at the valet area, where we were then asked to park along the valet driveway rather than in proper parking lots. The instructions were unclear. At check-in, the staff provided minimal and incomplete explanations. Communication was difficult due to limited face-to-face English ability, and instructions regarding the parking access points (doors A, B, C,D etc.) were unclear. When we entered our first room, we found that the sofa cushions had not been placed back properly, there were puddles of water on the floor, and the sofa seats were extremely damp, likely from wet vacuum cleaning that had not been properly dried. We informed the front desk and were offered a room change. However, the room change process was poorly handled. After receiving the new room card in another tower, we realized that the old card had already been deactivated, preventing us from returning to the first room to retrieve our luggage. We had to walk back to the counter again to resolve this. What made it worse was a male staff member already reached the first room before us, knocked on the door without greeting or explanation, asked “change room right?” when I asked, and then entered the room with us. It felt like we were being rushed or chased out, which was quite uncomfortable. Later, after we finally settled into the new room and went out for dinner, the staff began repeatedly messaging us asking for the first room cards. During the room change, we were told the old card would be needed to tap out when exiting the carpark, while the new card would be used to tap in upon return. We were never told the cards had to be urgently returned, nor was there any instruction to return them to the guard. Despite agreeing earlier that they could collect the cards themselves after my offer for them to collect at my nearby dinner place was declined. They later called again around 11:00 pm, insisting the cards must be returned before midnight. We rushed back and told them they could collect them from our room in 10 minutes, but no one came at all, which made the urgency seem unnecessary and poorly managed. Overall, the experience was very frustrating and disorganized, from unclear instructions and communication issues to poor handling of the room change and unnecessary late-night disturbance. Unfortunately, this was a terrible stay and far below expectations for a property of this type.
