Where to stay in Yokohama
Yokohama hotels & accommodations
The hotel is in a prime location to get around the shopping arcade in the Queen's tower and the vicinity. Great stay for who comes to conferences at Pan Pacifico Yokohama. Hotel is decorated in classic style and under some renovation to upgrade to new technology. The room has fantastic view to either the bay area with Ferris wheel or the city with Mr. Fuji in the backg...
Edit Yokohama hotel was my best stay in Japan. The location is very convenient. It is walking distance to JR, subway blue line, Minato Mirai 21 area, and China town. It takes about 40 minutes to Tokyo station. The hotel is modernly designed. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and bigger than those in Tokyo hotels. Breakfast buffet provides healthy and tasty food. I’m super ...
Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel is a great place to stay if you prefer being near the Train station than being near downtown Yokohama. We were able to get a double bed room for a very good price. The room was clean and bathroom as expected for a 3 star+ hotel. I have been to japan 4 times and this hotel is one I would stay at again. My wife and I visited Yokohama for 2 ...
I changed to this hotel after originally booking the Sunroute nearby. The Sunroute was dirty and unpleasant, but the Daiwa room was perfect. It was big, clean, they had many international staff, and they helped me with many things during my trip. I will definitely go there again. I have stayed in many Japan hotels, and this one was very good value.
This is the second time we've stayed here and where we will stay in the future. Let's start at the beginning. The staff is excellent. They speak excellent english and are very helpful. There is a convenience store in the lobby which comes in very handy. The rooms are small, but normal by Japan standards. The bed is comfortable. The heating/AC works well. The view of th...
Probably the best hotel in Yokohama area. Must stay at the park side to enjoy the beautiful view. Good for family holiday and/or for business trip. Should stay longer there, instead of Ikebukuro
Various prices online for this hotel, but Agoda.com had an outstanding deal. Conveniently located hotel in the Yokohama area; short walking distance to Keikyu and JR Tsurumi stations for easy access to Tokyo, Yokohama and Haneda. Single room was cramped but adequately comfortable. Bathroom is a modified western style. Very clean. If you don't smoke, be sure you book a ...
the place is great. It's surrounded by a park, convenience stores, groceries and also very close to some tourist sports in Yokohama. Although the train station is quite a walk but still reasonable. Highly recommended. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. Will stay there again on my next visit.
we stayed at kawasaki nikko hotel for the first time. it was a very nice hotel. the service was good, and the room was nicely appointed. a bit small, but relatively generous for a hotel in this price range for japan. the kawasaki jr station area is wonderful. the atre and lazona shopping complexes at the stations are unbelievable. transit to both tokyo and yokoha...
By Japanese standards the rooms are quite large, and furnished in an almost Scandinavian style. Everything is spotless. There was a good workdesk area and a comfortable chair with a side table, and a nice view towards downtown Yokohama. The location at the train station is great, as the hotel lobby is on the 10th floor (hotel rooms above that) and floors 2-9 most...
Daiwa Roynet Hotel Yokohama-Kannai provided what i needed: 1.) a clean place to rest and sleep after a long day; 2.) a clean and complete toilet and bath facility; 3.) a hearty breakfast to start my day; 4.) so easy to get a ride, very accessible - near a train station, easy to get a taxi; 5.) walking-distance to local shopping areas and eateries; 6.) secured- no worri...
I booked this trip 2 days before my last minute leisure travel. it's surprisingly good place. I will consider this as one of my future Tokyo area hotel/hostel stay in future. I stay in "space" type of room, with aircon and private area, bath room is shared, but it's extremely clean. 20 min to Tokyo station, and less than 20 min to Yokohama. 20min to Tokyo station i...
I usually stay in Yokohama hotels when I go to Tokyo. With the same price, hotel rooms and services in Yokohama are much better than in Tokyo. This time, I tried Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel. Its location is wonderful. Just 2 minutes’ walk from Yokohama station – connected via footbridge and subway. Sogo and other shopping malls nearby. The room is large enoug...
only a minute's walk to the jr station and located in the middle of the minato mirai 21 area, the new otani inn yokohama hotel is perfect for those who want to experience downtown yokohama. it is also minutes from the park, china town, and the all of the harbor attractions. the room, at least those with the harbor view, are incredible. the view in it of itself is amazi...
I love that the hotel is just a short walk from the Yokohama station and that the staff at the front desk were so friendly and very fluent in English. I had a parcel of CDs and event ticket sent there before I arrived and they kept it safe for me. The lady who checked me in even volunteered to bring the parcel to my room when she saw I did not have a free hand to carry...
A very good hotel in Yokohama. Easy access from the station. Just 5 minutes walk. Superb location. Many good restaurants nearby for meals. Room size is good and very clean. Bathrooms are clean and the shower pressure is fantastic. Breakfast is basic but good enough for a simple breakfast. A very convenient hotel for business and vacation travellers. Room is quite big f...
I prefer this hotel in Yokohama because the staff is always so good (like most of Japan), the breakfast is good, and it's location is very convenient - Exhibition Center, subway, lively neighborhood
I stayed just 1 night and didn't find anything lacking. It is a 3-star hotel with little frills, a clean and comfortable room, and it is not hard to find from the Yokohama station. I am impressed by how hard the receptionists tried their best to make us feel welcomed. I stayed in a 5-star hotel prior to this stay, and well, just didn't get the same treatment. So I am...
The hotel is very close to Nihon-Odori Station, which you can access easily from Yokohama Station through Minatomiari Line. The hotel is easily found, even for first-time guest like me. I like the hotel so much. The hotel building looked nice and elegant. It was quite, clean, and comfortable. Check-in was easy, the staffs were nice. For the room, I booked twin moderate...
Our stay at the Daiwa Roynet was great, even before we checked in. The hotel was happy to hold our luggage for a day before officially checking in which allowed us to travel and sightsee. I would consider the hotel as 3.5 to 4 star. Great clean accom with helpful staff. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to a better room, bonus! Wifi was good and so were the amenit...
No doubt in terms of location, this is the best. Fast check in. Complete amenities, clean, spacious, comfy bed-there’s really nothing to complaint about this hotel. We’ll come back to stay here again if we’re in Yokohama. So many shops nearby
The rooms are tiny by Western standards but exceptionally clean. Very compact bathroom with Shiseido brand toiletries provided. Generous continental breakfast consisting of croissants, pastries, juice and coffee and tea... and soup. The hotel is within walking distance to major station and shopping areas, and lots of little cafes, convenience stores and games arcades. ...
the staff tried their best with english and friendly, also helpful when i asked directions to some places. location is accessible, near shin yokohama station and some good sightseeing such as shin yokohama ramen museum and yokohama arena. there's also various restaurants, cafe and convenience stores around. my room was clean and comfortable, but no wi-fi in room and i ...
It's the best hotel you can find if you travel with a child in Yokohama and south Tokyo. Unlike other hotels those only have 1 double bed in Tokyo and Yokohama, Richmond Hotel have rooms with 3 beds for parents and the child. Finally I can have a good sleep!
As someone skeptical of reviews, I booked the Rose Hotel for 4 nights as part of a travelling package of Yokohama and Tokyo. when we arrived we saw we were opposite Chinatown...a great cultural experience. The staff couldn't be friendlier, attending to our every need. it's probably the best hotel in Yokohama!
It was my first time in Japan, and I am very glad I chose the Hotel Wing International for my stay. It was a very convenient location next to the Kannai terminal, allowing for easy access to Yokohama station. Chinatown and Yamashita park are great sight seeing places nearby, and the weather happened to be gorgeous during my stay. The staff were friendly and accommodati...
I spent one night here to avoid staying in central Tokyo after traveling from the Southern Japan using the Shinkansen trains on my way to Narita for a flight home. The hotel was very reasonably priced and the location and staff were great. The hotel was 1.5 blocks from Shinyokohama and the subway to Yokohama station for the Narita Express train was across the street...
I enjoyed my one night stay at APA Hotel in Yokohama Kannai. The rooms were tiny, but the majority of affordable hotels in Japan are that way. The beds were super comfortable. The hotel and rooms were very clean. I would stay here again.
me and a friend stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. so close to yokohama station. we were welcomed by 3 very pretty japanese girls begging to carry our bags for us... we refused as we thought our bags might topple them over. the room was great for what we paid for! everything you could ask for. no wireless but they have wired and you plug it straight into your lapto...
This was my first to stay in Yokohama and the hotel was exactly as i expected. As the lobby is located on the 3rd floor, you just need to press the communicator to get inside the building for the very 1st time. The service was excellent and efficient. Most of the thing you can do it yourself as it comes with a high tech tools. The room was very clean, big enough com...
Cheap places to stay in Yokohama
Great value for money ! 20€ a night is ok for Japan. I paid a lot more in the center of Tokyo and didn't get so much fun than here! The owner Taka was friendly and assist me how to use the metro and told me the best of Yokohama! The hostel is new ! he opened it 4 months ago and beds and amenities are new. Japanese toilets were fun to use! Living room with a big tat...
When I stayed at CHILLULU, I was greeted by the most warmhearted staff who went beyond their duties to ensure I had the most comfortable stay. The experience of staying at CHILLULU is really like nothing else. The model of a Cafe and Hostel in-one really works. It means you can take your coffee from the place you're staying at (how good is that!?). They even give you o...
A good place and located near transportation and lots of dining. Has a nice lounge. Staff was friendly.

Exactly as described, the room was small but clean. Bathrooms were really clean and staff were really, really nice. Wifi is just in the wifi spot but they've put a sofa there so you can surf in comfort. Yokohama is a great place - definitely recommend hiring the bikes (they have electric if you're lazy like me!) and heading to the seafront. There's so much to see, I di...
Nice for backpacker, clean and nice hot spa pool
This place is quite unique because it's more of a traditional style Japanese home run by a young Japanese couple. The bed they provided is surprisingly cozier than the ones I had at the hotels I stayed in. The location is a bit of a walk from the train station, around 10-15 mins, but it's part of the experience of staying at this place since the surrounding area is mos...
The very first disappointing one was that you have to check out every 10 a.m. For sure I read on online that the checkout was 10 a.m but I never knew I had to check out every 10 a.m morning and also empty my locker. There was no saying that on hotel information section. When I arrived, I was told and given the paper in English I had to check out 10 a.m. I woke u...
I booked a deluxe twin room, 35 sq m, very spacious. I liked the clean, cosy cottage-like deco in the room. Amenities available - TV, Wifi, air con cum heater, fridge, slippers, water boiler, bathroom toiletries, dryer, etc. Bathroom is huge, a bathtub & spacious sit down shower area (typical onsen type). We took the breakfast option, which is a simple set meal, weste...
We really enjoyed our stay at this small hotel and would stay here again especially if we want to be close to Haneda airport. It was professional, nice, comfy thick mattress bed, and good location within a few minutes walk to the closest subway station. There are small shops, grocery and convenience store close by. We like this stay much better than the AirBnB that we ...
Very good. Served our needs. Good hostel. We wanted to spend a night in yokohama japan. We walked around he city out first night. There is no curfew for this hostel. The staff were very helpful. I was a little worried with this hotel being so cheap and a name like LiveMax. We're talking $35-45/night on cheap days. Great value. Weekends can go up to $125. yikes! Room size is slightly bigger than a business hotel. It's still small, but maybe an extra 10sqft. I know... I know... but it makes a big difference. Location is in the middle of Yokohama China Tow...
this was the first time I stayed at this hotel. the location and value of the hotel is why I tried it. the staff was friendly and hotel was very clean. the area was full of food and has alot shopping. I will stay here on future visits in the yokohama area.

this is a decent standard hotel very adequate for a business traveler just needing a room for the night. acceptable size for japan, clean and well maintained. very good access to kawasaki jr station, so handy for tokyo and yokohama. limited 'western' facilities in the area, as it is a very local urban district.
This hotel is clean and cheap, offering a comfortable bed in a good location. Stay here if that's what you're looking for. It's not the Hilton, but you don't always need the Hilton, do you?
It was great! The location was good. Great access to Tokyo as well as Yokohama Chinatown. Awesome breakfast! Great customer service. Room was not spotless in terms of cleanliness but it was ok. Plenty of convenience stores around.
My boyfriend & I traveled to Yokohama for Pokemon Go Fest 2019, and MyStays was in great location for easy access to Yokohama & Tokyo. The area around the hotel was very clean and quiet, a surprise being so close to the station. The room was very clean and fairly spacious compared to others we've stayed at in Japan. There were a couple washing/drying machines and one m...
the place is great. It's surrounded by a park, convenience stores, groceries and also very close to some tourist sports in Yokohama. Although the train station is quite a walk but still reasonable. Highly recommended. The staff is also very helpful and friendly. Will stay there again on my next visit.
The hotel has the largest rooms that I have seen in Japan so far. Two single beds, bathroom and a tiny kitchen (although there was nothing with which to cook). I would stay here again if I were ever to visit Japan again.
This hotel was a great choice for staying in Tokyo. It's right in Yokohama, which is very close by train to all of the major attractions like roppongi, shinjuku, shibuya, and so on. The beds were super comfortable, and the rooms provided everything. This hotel is close the Tsumori JR station, so it's just a short walk and a train ride to fun places in Tokyo. Though, Ts...

A small older style hotel, with spacious room and traditional facilities. Just 5 minutes easy walk from Sakuragicho Station JR & Metro. A great location. Welcoming staff with good English. I don't think there are any other hotels in Shinyuri, at least not this size. You won't be disappointed. It's not a 5 star hotel but I'll gladly stay there every time I'm in Shin-yuri. Every thing was pretty much 'average' or slightly better than average. But I have 0 complaints.
Very clean and comfortable! The facilities are all from the best brands (e.g., SONY, Panasonic, Zojirushi). The only thing I feel a little unexpected was that there is no coffee in the room. There are tea bags, but just not coffee. Otherwise, this is a really awesome hotel. Great cost/value! Love it!

Real reviews for hotels
Nice city just outside Tokyo. Would recommend 2 nights here. We stayed 4 nights but felt it was too many nights.
this area is more alike the residential area. And many shops close after 8pm. So if you are looking for night life or shopping hour late till 10pm, then Yokohama is not the place for you.
modern city, but unlike Tokyo, it has preserved a bit of the past, for example, the tiny one-man run night stalls are primitive and oldish.
Quite and least crowded city as compared to Tokyo. Public transport system and structure are well planned and developed.
Visit kamakura for temples, try the crepe along the way back to Kamakura station. To explore shops and malls near Yokohama Station alone, you'll need a day.
Yokohama is amazing. :) It's not as busy as Tokyo, but the architecture there is just a whole different world.
Peacful and quiet. Nice environment and good for business stay. Shopping available along major stations
Yokohama's quite near Tokyo abt 30 mins by train. One of interesting choices if you want to travel outside Tokyo.
When in Yokohama, make sure you go to Sparta Restaurant. They serve delectable, authentic Greek dishes.
yokohama is a good place to visit in japan. it is one of the citys that you can visit most resturants and bars.
Yokohama has histrical culture by overseas and exotic atmosphere. So good mood to spend night life with partner.
Unlike in Tokyo, people in Yokohama are a lot friendlier in comparison. A random guy could just offer their assistant to snap your photo.
Yokohama has a variety of things to do for everybody. It is a specifically nice city at night by the sea.
We were really impressed with all that Yokohama has to offer. A lovely clean and safe place with plenty to see.
An amazing and very nice city to walk around,We had to go there as we had a cruise departing from Yokohama, but I enjoyed every moment of walking around the city, great views, parks, restaurants and cruise ship terminal
I wished I stayed longer at Yokohama to really explore the tourist spots in Yokohama. It's a nice city and I only managed to go to the Sankeien Garden, Ramen Museum and Minato Mirai 21.
I traveled to Yokohama to vist my girlfriend of only one month. We traveled all over Yokohma and stayed at the Rose Garden Hotel right in China Town.
sauber, elegant mediteran zu emfehlen ist hübsche einkaufsstraße von motomachi uferpromenade bei nacht einfach zu fuß zwei, drei stunden ohne ziel durch die straßen wandern
The city outshines any city in the USA, the streets are pleasant to walk around day or night, the people are very pleasant and courteous , helpful to strangers
Minato Mirai 21 can be reached easily by train, the nearest station is Minato Mirai Station. I also walked back to my hotel, Sheraton Bay (near Yokohama Station) on foot as there were just so much to see around the area and the best way to experience a city is by foot! I visited the Cup Noodles Museum, Cosmo World Amusement Park, shopped at World Porter, Landmark Plaza, Queen's Square, Red Brick Warehouse, saw the retired ship at the Yokohama Port Museum and strolled along the waterfront and the promenade.
yokohama is a wonderfull city that has grown through the years. they are always updating buildings and cleaning up bad locations.
Lived here before for 6 years...I LOVE THIS CITY. Well designed, easy to get around, great food and shopping.
since yokohama have a long history with foriners living there people are more open towards you then meny other places.
Was a great place to start my Japan trip. Not too busy and overwhelming, yet it has a great many attractions.
I loved Yokohama. The bayside area is well laid out. Go up to the 69th floor of Landmark Tower for a beautiful view.
Great city just south of Tokyo. Good to visit and see the port life and Sea Park, but not enough to do for more than 2 days of sightseeing.
This is a city not far away TOKYO, you can select better hotel to stay in this city. Take marine every day to TOKYO will be a good option for you.
Yokohama is a place to go you can see double deck car highways, seaport, very huge china town in yokoham.
Yokohama is a quiet city in Japan, with a beautiful harbour. A nice city to visit for relaxing and sight seeing.
Good town, stop at Yokohama station and change train to anywhere you like. Shopping centre also offer you with affordable price.
