"Philstay was definitely a great choice. I spent about a month here, slept in the 4 persons room because I wanted to make friends, but have space too. Don't get scared by the pictures: the beds are actually pretty large, little rooms with... thick curtains? as doors. I had the privacy I was hoping for, which is kinda difficult to find in other guesthouses. They clean everyday, but of course the bathrooms are not in their best condition when it's 11 am and 2929282 people have already used them. Beware, as in many other korean bathrooms, you throw toilet paper in the little basket next to the wc. Some people may find it disgusting, that's why I chose to write it down - still, I think half of the bathrooms in Seoul work like this...? So yeah Never tried breakfast because I was lazy and dumb, so I can't judge that. The relax area, though, is really nice. Sometimes a little crowded, but it's okay. They give you towels, soap, things like that. There's a scale that you can use to check if you're going to cry at the airport because of your luggages, cute mirrors in the hall where you can dry your hair or do your makeup, a computer, washing machines with detergent too. And if you need it, they even have an iron for your wrinkled clothes - though it didn't really work when I used it, but I'm also dumb so yeah, I don't know. No dryer, wet clothes go on the rooftop, from where you can also take a look of the scenery and relax. It's on the third floor of a building with no elevator, so you either die taking your luggages upstairs or find a way to survive. I asked my driver to help me, for example. Making friends was impossible to me. Everyone was in a little bubble and sometimes roommates wouldn't even say hi, but this is a really subjective thing. If you're extremely extrovert, I think you'll have a good time. The location is AMAZING. It's in front of Ewha, but also 5 minutes walk from the station. You can even reach Sinchon just walking around. Lot of stores, your wallet will "

"I went to Korea last summer and had a great time staying in STEP INN. It's very clean, cozy with friendly staff who gave me recommendation of a local hair salon when I asked for it:) The location is in the center of Myeongdong and super easy to shop and go around by train. I remember I even cancelled my bookings for another hotel and continued staying here when I came back to Seoul from Bishan due to its great location near the airport shuttle bus stop. Other than that, I also happened to bump into MonstaX's mini concert near the hostel in Myeongdong on my first day staying there, walking down the street in the morning... The only drawbacks for some might be the room can be quite small. But I like cozy rooms! I feel it's good for solo travelers or students."

"I actually never write reviews on the internet as I find them skeptical. However my stay at Shinshin Hotel was so amazing that I have to contribute and share my praise for this hotel. I stayed at the Shinshin Hotel for 5 nights in January and what was originally meant to be a one night reservation at the hotel led to a 5 night reservation simply due to how fabulous the hotel was. My partner and I have traveled extensively around the world and stayed at numerous five-star hotels but after staying at the Shinshin Hotel, I have now begun to question just how "good" these five-star hotels are. Even though Shinshin Hotel is considered a boutique hotel, it had all the qualities that the well-known five-star hotels claim to possess and even more. The staff were not only attentive but they also spoke numerous languages fluently, were very accommodating and in fact they genuinely cared about your welfare and needs. In addition, the staff at the dining hall were also fabulous! I am utterly suprized at how well-established this hotel is considering that it was only established in 2013. Also, the hotel is in a fabulous location and we could easily walk or catch the Metro without any problems. I would recommend the Shinshin Hotel to anyone visiting Seoul!"
