Berastagi hotels & accommodations
The hotel located at the juction walk up to Mount Sibayak and Mount Gundaling. Room was spacious, bed was big. The hotel staff Johanis did arrange the Mount Sibayak trip & Berastagi to Parapat car for us. He was very friendly and the driver and also the tour guide he recommended us is Mai. Mai is very friendly, talkative and he gave us a lot of information which makin...
Because it was chinese new year and we arrived late i got a lousy noisy room with no view. don't chose a room in 9 series on ground floor as louvred glass is all that protects you from screaming children passing by 2 meters away from bed. our complaint was well-reeceived and we were upgraded to a deluxe room for minimal extra charge. these rooms on the Funland side are...
Sinabung Hills is a really majestically located resort ! High mountains, crisp air and stunning views ! Although the furniture is old and the rooms need a facelift, telltale renovation works are being carried out in stages. It is really a pristine location, very near (15km) to not one but two fairly active volcaones ! Mount Sibayak (2051 metres) and the more ominous Mo...
thanks agoda.. bisa early check in... penjaga villa ramah dan senang membantu
Very big house and was cleaned well. Shower heater was not working well but still satisfied with the place.
Stayed with big family, many upgrades after the renovation. The hotel's people are very friendly and polite, room service food is much better now, very good view to Bukit Kubu, still my favourite hotel in Brastagi.
Jimmy and his wife are very helpful and friendly. There was a bit of misunderstanding about our breakfast, it was included in our booking but at arrival we found out that it is not. Jimmy’s wife greatly made this up to us by making us breakfast in the morning in her own kitchen. On our last day Jimmy invited us to go to the hot springs, took us out for lunch and taught...
The environment is good. Quiet and serene. However due to the lack of proper maintenance of the villa, it's spoiled everything. When we arrived Green Hill City, we were surprised that there was not even a check in counter. A cleaner helped us to locate the villa from the picture shown from the Agoda's reply letter. There's no block number of the villa indicated in the ...
I had a great time at Smiley's home! The family is very helpful and friendly and open minded. they have a great knowledge about the area and show you many beautiful places you must have seen in Berastagi. cecilia took me to the market. she cooks incredibly good, self-baked bread, banana pancake, many great local dishes and we had always fresh fruits. Smiley took us to ...
The only best hotel in Berastagi. Good weather. Nice Garden. Nice Food. I can repeat to stay here. Liitle bit scary at night. The send us to our room with buggy service.
It was good and this hotel might be the best hotel in Berastagi area, yet still have plenty or rooms of improvement. Instead of going out to have dinner, my aunties who visited this hotel quite often recommended us to have dinner in the hotel and indeed it's a good choice. However, the breakfast is too simple. Not much choices and doesn't taste so good. Pool was not ...
We choose this resort because there are no more available room in any berastagi's hotel that can be booked online during our travel date. We're a little bit scared because of the bad reviews about this resort. This resort is around 15 minutes driving from pasar buah berastagi. But everything was changed! We're totally the impressed with the staff that is very polite, ...
The hotel is still very new, I was told they just started a couple months ago. Obviously there are still a lot of things need to be improved. The room was comfortable but the water heater wasn't working but I didn't complain because I thought it wasn't a big deal. (I'm sure they'll be very helpful if we asked them to fix it.) The only thing that amused me so much was t...
Cold water shower only, but we hired a guide for their tour, and it was well worth our money for the secret gems that the guide brought us to!
Cheap places to stay in Berastagi
This place is very close to a mosque so expect loud calls over the speakers at around 5am. No basin in bathroom. The bathroom is quite dirty. Not sure if this is relevant, but us Asian travellers were treated differently than Caucasian travellers. We got the feeling we were unwelcome there. Location wise, it's very near to the fruits market and shops. A highly recommen...

Visit the plantations. Hike up Mount Sinatubong. Go to the Sibayak Hot Spring Buy or eat fresh fruits and vegetables
Bersatagi is located in nearby two volcanos, Sibayak and Sinabung. Hiking is very good and chalanging.
View of the Mt Sinabung is breathtaking. Can be seen from Gundaling approximately 16km distance. We are also brought to the 6km distance at night to watch the flowing lava from Sinabung.
THE FRUITS MARKETS IS VERY DIRTY AND CONJESTED. THE PRICE IS ACTUALLY KILLING ...VERY EXPENSIVE AND NOT ENCOURAGE TO VISIT!!!
You can see Sinabung Volcano and SIbayak volcano. Ride horse and have sugar cane juice plus fresh corn.
Brastagi basically is a very small town, where the weather is cold because it is located on the mountain area about 100 meter above sea level.
Never go Berastagi on weekedays as it will be very boring. Many activities are only open on weekends and public holidays.
Very cooling place. It is best to find lodging at countryside and take public transport as when required.
Nice and fresh fruits and vegetables are produced here. Lots of export fresh fruits and vegetables are from berastagi.
Good environment with cold weather. Horse ride is another attraction in Brastagi and the price is less than $15 per half hour per ride per person.
Actually the place is very good for relaxing but right now sinabung mountain is going to explode so the air is poluted.
sejuk nyaman air terjun indah Pemandangan alam bagus gunung dan banyak/penghasil suyur-mayur dan buah
This city has a cool climate, set its a great place to relax and enjoy the fresh air, Fresh food and Bustling Markets at Brastagih.
A town with cool surrounding and lots of interesting places, such as market, hill stations and gardens.
Fresh air city with Fresh fruit and vegetables. Remember to visit fruit and vegetables market, riding horse, eat sweet grill corn.
This place is only good for people who like hiking. This place is not suitable for family trip, especially with children and elder.
Cool weather and good shopping but must bargain; easily by 50%. However, due to the eruption of Mt. Sinabung the week before, the place was covered with volcanic ash.
Berastagi is a nice city with cool weather and greeny, many fresh fruits and hystoritical and cultural area, friendly people and so more the best things.
Is a place for the people from the nearer town to run away from heat. But for us from others country, really not a right place to stay overnight unless you must stay in the town for business purpose.
The streets that are less good, so be careful. In this place, you have to go to "Pasar Buah", there are many fresh fruit and vegetable with cheap prices.
Berastagi city is not recommended. i heard some thief. i did make sure it when i saw the restaurant there.
Brastagi is a well-known in medan. It is located on the montain site and whenever you are heading to Lake-toba, you will pass brastagi.
I don't have much information about the town because I stayed there only 1 night. Anyway I just love the weather there even the town don't have many interesting places to see.
Tongging is a great place to visit. It is the other side of Lake Toba. The lake is placed a low land, with some kind of hill surround.
1/2 an hour from Medan. A Karo Regency. Famous for Gunung Sibayak and Gunung Sinabung. A stop area to go to the well known Lake Toba.

Berastagi has beautiful natural environment. The city has space to develop. Not much for shopping but good for relax your mind.
This area was very cold because it consider a highland, you can visit gunung sinabung (~2400m) & gunung sibayak (~2200m) by few hour hiking.
overall is good, but the service here all asking for "tambang", forcing ppl to gv money even we not satisfied with the service.
