I booked through i-smile but actually stayed at MeU2. It was nice and the bed was comfortable which is a big deal to me. There was also a good amount of privacy. This is a really nice place if you want to socialize though because there's lots of sitting space and I met tons of people that way. It's also right near the North Gate and there's a mall bowling a karaoke not too far away.

I loved this hostel! It was cleaned everyday. It was a great price. The owners are super friendly and helpful! Each floor has 2 toilets and 2 showers. The bunks each have a light, outlet and curtain. I booked 4 nights ended up staying 7. I will definitely be staying there when i go back to Chiang Mai.

Very good location, very good price for everything they offer to you. I stayed in the fan bedroom, its was perfect during the night, not hot at all with the fan on. Very clean, toilets, showers and bedrooms. They provide you toilet paper, locker and breakfast (coffee, tea, and bananas) for free. Very good internet in the hall and bedrooms. The staff is very very nice! Very good people, good english and always there to help you. I rented a motorcycle with them and arrange my transfer to go to Pai. Good prices and they go to pick up you at the hostel and bring the motorcycle to the hostel too, so was very comfy all the services. Very good place to stay. I stayed there 5 nights :)

Nice hostel!”
Free water, coffee and unlimited wifi! I had some problems with the wifi on the rooftop though, but the one in my room was fine (there are two wifis since there are 5-6 floors in total). The rooftop is nice to chill out and there are some places at the reception as well (inside and outside). The female dorm was clean and we have a locker with our own key. Mattresses are hard (typical in Thailand!). Two showers and two toilets on the floor that are cleaned everyday. They had some problems with the plumbing though: one of the sink blocked everyday, probably because of women hair! But they fixed it and you can tell them if not: staff is really helpful! You can book plenty of tours at the reception. 20min walk to the gate and maybe 30min to the main river (I went there for the lanterns festival, it was the greatest experience ever), plenty of temples all around, little food market everynight at 3min walk from the hostel (I loved it!), seven 11 near as well, 20-25min walk from the saturday night market and 15min walk from the sunday night market: you can go everywhere in the square by walk from the hostel. But you can get the red taxis for 30-40 bath if you dont want to walk (plenty of them!).

Wonderful place to stay”
I initially booked 2 nights, but ended up staying 7 nights in total with a break in between, because I went to Pai for a couple of days (which is beautiful btw) The rooms are cleaned every day and so are the showers and toilets. Each room has a good aircon and the bottom bunks have little certainly to give you some privacy. The beds are quite hard, but that's normal in Thailand. Whenever you have a question, the staff is very friendly and helps you in every way they can. The hostel is located outside of the main "square", which is the city, but within 5 minutes of walking, you're in the center and only 500 meters away is a market every evening with cheap and delicious food.

Once I arrived, I was warmly welcome by the owners. The staffs were overall friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bed was comfortable enough and we had the curtains to have some privacy. The rest room/bathrooms were clean. Everything was great here. Whenever I left the hostel or just go out, I ask questions and the owners are happy to answer and gives advice. They were very helpful in everything. Thank you so much for your hospitality and warm welcome. When I go back, I'll want to stay here again. Keep up the good work!

Comfortable hostel”
I take a Smart Bus (R3 Yellow) from the Chiang Mai Airport, get off at bus stop No.20 Chaang Phueak Gate and arrive on foot for about 2 minutes. Very nice location. The staff is very kind friendly.

Thank you so much for letting me stay there almost for 3 weeks. I was always so happy to be there. The people who stays there are so nice and quiet, but I’ve met great people. Location is perfect you can go pretty much everywhere by walk, the shower is so good not week, always clean and tidy. Stuff is so helpful, i already miss the both of the owner so much. He was so chill and happy everyday, she was telling me about culture and meditation witch I am interested in. I loved to stay there and I would like to go back. 8 people in the room but you have privacy, I felt safe there. Thank you so much for everything! See you again some day x Kumi

The hostel is very basic. However it is much cleaner than most hostels I've stayed in Thailand. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again.

Perfect for a couple of days”
Out of the quantity of different hostels in this road, Shunlin distinguishes itself. Very nice staff, with very good english. quite good and comfy beds good internet connexion unfortunate they have such a small common room on the bottom floor. they also have a super nice terrasse they do not use a part for laundry.

Great hostel for the $, the beds were hard as to be expected but the place was super clean and the staff were great! Free coffee, water and bananas in the morning. WiFi worked great most of the time.

perfect place , nice people and quite clean shower and toilet , just one thing there is mite in the bed I' ve stay 5-6days got 7 bites, it was 2month ago I still have big marks on my body, it's not bed bugs just dust mite sucking blood, which I experience before, but if you willing to buy bugs spray and spray on the bed it will be best option to stay CM long time. but sort time , avoid it

Awesome hostel”
We stayed at here for 3 nights, the location is very close to many places, a lot of foods can be found nearby. The room was big for 12 person dorm, clean room and each bed have locker, light and plug. The toilet and shower room was clean too. The host was very good , friendly and kind person, you can speak with them using Cantonese . They will let you check in earlier if you reach earlier. They provide free water, coffee and tea at the lobby. Other than that, they have trip and tour booking services too, so you can book your trips to Doi Inthanon, Chiangrai, Pai or even Bangkok at here. 140baht for a/c dorm and 100baht for fan dorm. Will come back to here again definitely.

Nice hostel”
The hostel is not extremely nice but very cheap which makes it great value for money. However the staff is lovely, the beds have curtains and the rooms have AC. It has a nice rooftop and front terrace. It is located a bit away from the old city centre but very close to cheap bicycle and scooter rental places. Recommended!
