Thought a return to airport area eould alliw a smooth transport to jaco..so i chose the hilton...while there i was very impressed the most with guys out front...a a plus group Prfessional Treating you with concern care..a number one group... Even the guy in coffee shop...i am age 71 hard to walk and he saw me stopling ast the short ramp in the lobby..immediately he ran to help me..didnt stand and watch..he was there hto prevent me getting hurt..wow was i impressed and then bought two pastries from him Thanks hilton...

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay in Jaco for 4 night and we got lucky with the weather. Jaco Laguna Resort was only satisfactory compared to our hotel in Manuel Antonio. I thought that the JLR was okay, nothing great, nothing terrible. PROS: - SUNSET, SUNSET, SUNSET. Did I mention the SUNSET. - Location on south end of Jaco's beach with calmer waters and nice soft sand. You can walk from hotel to beach in seconds. - Friendly staff with nice bar/restaurant steps from the sand. CONS: - Cannot flush toilet paper. Not the end of the world, but just an adjustment. - Shared balconies. We were unable to hang some of our wet clothes. Hope this helps.

This hotel is located a good distance from the little town, however, the grounds are absolutely beautiful, lots of flowers, birds and butterflies and a great view of the Volcano. Breakfast is great with lots of choices and local dishes included. If you want to experience hot springs, you have to go to specialized hot springs locations like Ecothermales and Tabacon. The hot springs at the hotel Arenal Manoa is only a warm pool, nothing to write home about. The food at the restaurant is okay and reasonably priced. You need to take a taxi to get into the town where there are lots of restaurants, supermarkets, souvenir shops etc.

We are huge fans of AM resorts (Dreams, Secrets, etc.) and Costa Rica. This is our 3rd visit to this beautiful country and its kind sweet people. . Imagine our disappointment... This resorts is incredibly mismanaged. The workers in their majority look unhappy which probably explains the poor quality of service we received. The food and liquor are below the company standard which we experienced in many visits in Mexico and Dominican Republic. Some of which include: - Poor service at the Worlds Cafe - Many family and others as well finished breakfast without getting our coffee. Some people just got up and left. - Closed restaurants without prior notice. We had reservations due to our large family group only to find out upon our arrival that management had decided to close 2 restaurants last minute for the evening. We received no call to warn us or gives up alternatives prior to us showing up which added a wait time of 1 1/2 hours. - Limited water sports equipmt. - Poor house keeping.

The room was clean and nice enough, but the walls are thin and you can hear everything that's going on in the corridor. The front desk staff are friendly and try to be helpful but one man gave me completely incorrect info (he said the bus time to nosara was double what it actually is, and said the flight time was 8 times more than what it is), maybe it was a language barrier but don't bother asking for travel advice in English

Rooms are small but had everything I needed. Completely updated and clean. Worth more than the price. I stayed in other hotels across the area that were way more expensive but were awful dirty places. Staff was great. I didn’t eat there but the lil garden cafe is adorable and the menu looks great. My only complaint is that they were doing construction that started at 7am! The construction staff was very loud and didn’t care that people were trying to sleep. They yelled and whistled and had no regards for guests. Other than that a great lil gem.

This is a reasonable hotel and decent enough place to stay for one night. We used it to get to the domestic Nature Air terminal early the next morning. Breakfast is offered by Denny's and is an American affair. When we arrived there was some sort of tournament going on which meant the place was full of adolecent youths... and can get pretty loud with the Casino there. Don't stay longer than a night unless you have too!

Location was incredible, tucked away in the cloud forest. The staff was top notch and the tours were amazing. We loved the casitas and the resort grounds. The resturant also had a variety of home grown options. Be sure to bring snacks if you don't want to eat at the restaurant. As there is nothing in walking distance. Perfect for a jungle retreat! ++breakfast was also very very good!

What a wonderful stay we had here! Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is. The view is amazing! We saw a lot of tucans from outside our room. The room is amazing, clean and very spacious. The bed is probably the best bed we slept on our intire trip. It is so special to wake up in the middle of the jungle with all the jungle noises. Last but not least Michelle and Fabiana are amazing. They are so friendly and welcoming! Every morning Michelle served us homemade and fresh breakfast. It was delicious! Thank you so much for everything!

Having read a couple of the more recent reviews, I was slightly apprehensive about our 1 night stay in Turrialba. I cannot stress enough how much you should ignore any bad reviews of the place and especially of Mark and Annabel the hosts- they are up there with the some of the most lovely and helpful people we’ve come across. Seriously, I can’t imagine any bad experience with these guys and it actually infuriates me that people who don’t make reservations and then turn up with the wrong attitude can impact their ratings. THIS, and only this, can be the reason they do not have a 10/10 rating. The view from our room was stunning, they treated us like we’d been there for weeks, despite us only being able to stay one night (we wish we could have stayed longer!) and cooked us a great meal for a very reasonable price. Thank you Mark and Annabel! If we’re ever in the area again, we’d love to stay with you. Peter & Lizi

This is not a 4+ star hotel, and I'm very surprised at the ratings overall. The hotel is located at the south end of Jaco, which is more quiet than being in town, at the expense of requiring a taxi to go back and forth for restaurants, etc. The hotel is dated and feels it. It is right on the beach, and the pool is ok (not great, not bad). The staff are very helpful, however, and the restaurant food at the hotel was always good. The price was literally double what a hotel of this caliber should command (though this is common in CR). It's a good 3-star hotel and not a bad choice, but it's priced way above what it's actually worth. Decent stay; poor value.

I had a wonderful stay though it was only an overnight. Situated in a local neighborhood location that you feel you are really in a different place. The night was so relaxing, internet access was very fast. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and will definitely be the place where I will stay when I come back to Costa Rica.

This was our first stop on our adventure across Costa Rica, and what a great introduction! The location is fairly good, although driving up the mountain, down unpaved roads and past cliffs for the better part of an hour would make anyone think twice about visiting Arenal, but i promise you, it was worth it! The hotel was located off a main road, just down the street from a few of the major attractions (about 15 - 20 minutes) and about 10 minutes from the city centre. You're surrounded by lush rain forest, and if you're lucky, the clouds may clear up and you'll get to see Mount Arenal while sipping cocktails by the pool. We had gone to Costa Rica in June, so we got a very good rate on our room. To be honest, I'm not sure if I would have paid the full 'high season' price for this place; not because it wasn't worth it, but mainly because I personally think no hotel is worth a $400 a night stay.

The photo is a little deceiving considering it is missing the lamp post, utility box etc outside the building on the corner. It is also on a very busy intersection in the downtown core. (Something to be aware about if booking for a family). Our stay there, was very pleasant. For being a busy hostel it was relatively quiet, all patrons were respectful of the "quiet zone" signs near and around the dormitory. We stayed in a family dormitory that could hold 6 people. There was bedding, towels and private bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 showers. Like on all busy main roads in Costa Rica & single-paned windows accommodations one could hear the traffic as if it was right next to you. (give it a day or two and one becomes acclimatized to the sounds) However, the traffic seems to come to a halt around 9:30 p.m. and does not start up again until sunrise. The staff both at the front desk and serving food in the kitchen were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included with your stay and we were definitely fed well. Allowed us to start off the day just right. This is a good place to drop your bags and tour the city. There is public transportation right outside the front door and you are not very far from many attractions. As with every large city one travels to there are also many 'colourful' folk that live and transverse the downtown core, always be aware of your surroundings and you will have a great holiday!
