Where to stay in Canggu
Canggu hotels & accommodations

D'wina Canggu was exceptiona, location = excellent, villa = outstanding, customer service = exceptional. I chose this Villa because of location and the fact the property was only built 3yrs ago, and only a handful of them. We were booked in for 2 weeks, after one week there was an issue with our villa and what can I say. Manager Mr Wahab stepped up without me having ...

An amazing tranquil sanctuary just off the increasingly busy Canggu strip. Really unique to be able to seek out out a quiet corner of this amazing hotel and grounds and be served a meal by the Tugu staff. The rooftop at sunset is the best location in Canggu for drinks followed by seriously good Japanese food. The “anytime anywhere” promise of an all day breakfast is a ...

+ve sides 1)value for money seperated kitchen and hall from room is a genius idea..we love it..the size of the room, bathroom, kitchen and hall is sooo great.. 2)Near to Canggu Station groceries shopping just 5 minutes walk from the villa..it is quite expensive but better then nothing.. 3)A lot of restaurant and cafe/pub there are many choices of restaurant, pub or cafe ...

The Haven Suites are a new hotel in Canggu and we were initially hesitant to use it, but ended up trying it out and liked it so much, we came back a few months back. The design of the two-story rooms is very helpful to mid-sized families (though a children's gate on the stairs would be a welcome addition). Everything is clean and functional and the amenities and utilit...

The Sense Canggu Beach hotel was worth the money, we spent (we had an agoda offer).. The staff is very friendly and tried to satisfy our needs as good as they could. Due to the fact, that the hotel ist brand new and we've been the 3rd guests, everthing was great and beside of some small facts, you could complain about, our stay was excellent. 5min to the beach, calm e...

While in Bali for two weeks I stayed at several different places and I would 100% recommend the Aston Canggu as a home base for anyone who is visiting Bali. Canggu itself was the place I felt most comfortable (I also stayed in Seminyak, Ubud, and Nusa Dua) Everything you need is close by, Old Man's and the Lawn are within a few metres and they are the most happening pl...

We stayed in their 1-bedroom pool villa and it was the best decision we made. Reasons to stay at Theanna: • professional, friendly & courteous staff • they clean the villa twice per day • 2 big mineral water bottles are provided each day plus small ones too inside the villa • walking distance from Oka’s Bakery & Cafe, Dandelion and Eden Cafe • good breakfast options...

There is a lot to say about this beautiful place. The description here does not do it justice. I will start with the location. At the end of the street where Canggu Rooftop is located, you can find StarBucks. In front of it, there is Canggu Station, where you can shop whatever grocery you want. It is perfect. Walking for just 2 mins, you can find several dine-in restur...

The most appealing feature for me is the location. It’s very near the beaches and restaurants in Canggu. The design of the hotel is visually appealing, and the rooftop is great for hanging out! The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food is decent. The pool is lovely, too! The room (Run if the House) was rather small, and there was no closet, only a set of s...

I booked the chillhouse at the recommendation of several friends that stayed there, and though things have changed a bit since they stayed there, the vibe was still really great! I initially was planning on going to bali soho but ended up traveling with a friend and booked the chillhouse bc of the community vibe. I was there in late August so there were a lot of famili...

Kalapa was even better than the photos or reviews indicated, and we already had high expectations (hence, our booking). It is so pretty and peaceful. You hardly even know there are other guests there! Nothing is too much for the staff and they are consistently friendly and unobtrusive. Whilst an eight minute ride from Canggu, it isn't hard or expensive to organise a li...

The journey from the airport was quite long but the good part was the airport transfer staff from the resort was there an hour early just to make sure we could immediately head to the hotel. This I give extra points to the staff at Bali Dream for thinking of, despite our flight being delayed by 30 minutes. Upon arrival, as we only reached at about 11pm, and we had one ...

We were in Canggu for the first time and couldn't ask more for nice stay with affordable price. Askara is like bird nest in the middle of beautiful Canggu. I easily find foods. And when you need to shop, just rent the motorbike and go to Seminyak. If you want to hang out, it's only 15 minutes by bike to get Kuta. Nice room, and friendly staff are plus points for us. ...

Out of everywhere we have stayed in Bali, Ametis goes that next step to make it a true five star villa. The canggu area is great and there's so many things to do and see. We only stayed for three nights as it was our first time there and we didn't know what to expect. Our Butler, Anwar, made our trip run smoothly and really helped us get all we could out of our three ...

I am single, in my 60's and was in Bali for dental work so wanted somewhere quiet, within reasonable distance of the Denpasar dentist and some Seminyak shopping. For me it was perfect, the only disappointment being the size of the pool which from photos looks large but is actually small although pretty. One charming and helpful young man appeared to do 90% of the work,...

All is fantastic. Went there with my Fiance, Quiet villa with Private Pool. at first, we got confused of the villa location as there were no signage. but when we found the villa, all was good. It was quite deep in Canggu as it was our first experience to canggu too but still acceptable and really loved the place.

The Udara hotel offers everything a solo traveler looking for a soothing, relaxed stay close to lively Canggu can expect: Yoga lessons ( a bit too fast for beginners), mediation (great and very calming), a nice pool area, optional detox and community activities. The age of the hotel guests ranges between 20 and 70 - all very active and health focussed and very open to ...

Zoe Villa can be consider a 4-star hotel in Canggu for budget couples/families. Everything was way to surprise after opening the door, because it clean, friendly staff, cosy yet wild. Wild North Bali. I felt the natural of Bali in Zoe villa. Plants, stones, bricks, glasses bring the outside natural to the inside Zoe Villa. Without stepping of the Villa the whole d...

We only stayed here for 1 night however would like to comment on our experience. Location - Excellent location, 10 minute walk from Batu Balong beach which is great for surfing and there is a good beach bar/cafe called Old Man's there too. 15-20 minute walk to Echo Beach. Please note, that this villa is difficult to find and even taxi's do not know where it is - ens...

I originally booked for 2 nights but ending up staying for 4 because of how impressed I was with these apartments, the location is excellent just a short walk to Echo Beach with small supermarkets directly outside. I stayed in a apartment number 11 which has 2 other apartments either side and a nice sized pool that is shared with the other apartments in a nice garden. ...

This place is amazing! I travelled alone, but is perfect for couples and family too! It is a small hotel which makes it personal. The rooms are incredible, so clean. The pool is lovely and right next to the restaurant. The food is delicious and service was amazing. The hotel is nesselled away from the hustle of Canggu but only a short bike ride or scooter ride from ...

Lovely villas tucked away off the street so you get some peace and quiet. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful with booking taxis, etc. The spa treatments were a great price, cheaper than other standalone spa places in Canggu. wished I had time to do more. The treatments were carried out at one of the outdoor pavillions with the option of having either bl...

Overall good stay at Planta. The villa is beautiful although it is right at the top of Canggu so you need to get a taxi to and from the main parts of canggu town as it is not safe to walk the entire way, especially at night. The staff are very accomodating. The one thing I was annoyed about is that I informed the hotel ahead of our stay that I was pregnant and asked...

We loved the whole place. The staff were friendly and accommodating, everything we needed was delivered quickly and without fuss. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was basic but good, with daily specials adding a bit of variety. The rooftop pool deck was a great place to spend the morning, although a bit windy in the afternoon, was comfortable, private and...
Cheap places to stay in Canggu

Loves to stay in this hostel. Quiet environment, with cheap place/warung to buy food and groceries. They provide scooter for rent, it really helps me to go anywhere. Free towel, blanket to use, also 'all you can drink' free mineral water, coffee and tea during your stay. Beautiful garden for relax and yoga. So recommended!

Wow! I can tell you that BB Hostel is one of the best hostel in canggu for sure! It’s super cheap, you got everything that you need, the staff are super helpful and HENGKI the owner of BB Hostel are SUPERB! Been stayed there for a couple weeks and all i got is like a new family!

Hangtime Hostel is one of the most relaxed hostels I stayed at. The staff is very friendly and helps out with everything you need. Rooms were fresh and clean and beds are made daily. They have a common area with pool and lounge, often with live music or social activities. Scooter rentals, laundry and other facilities are available on sight. Overal a very enjoyable sta...

All my issues had less to do with the hostel and more to do with the crowd that it attracts. Mostly young party animals who partied with loud music into the night and then started up the music at 7 am because they hadn't even slept yet. I booked a female only down, but was woken up at 6 am to the sounds of two people getting it on in the bunk below mine. I checked ou...

Perfect hostel to me. It was cheap, spacious, with cosy beds. Roommates were chill and the lockers were huge. Its just across from the beach. Not a party hostel but instead I met several like-minded solo travelers and was able to have a good time in a relaxing environment. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. 2 bathrooms per 8-bed dorm with an additional 2 ou...

Amelle Villas are nicely situated towards the top of Jalan Batu Bolong, one of the main streets in Canggu, close to the corner of Jalan Raya Canggu. What I favoured most about this place was the location, being close to local restaurants and reasonably priced massage spas. It is not close to the beach, which is either a 20-25 minute walk or a short scooter / taxi rid...

Point Break is a community where if you show the right attitude and respect, you'll end up making some really personal connections and being take through a whole lot of good times with the staff and other guests. We had such a good time every night and I have so many stories that I'll be telling for a lifetime. I also met people who I know for sure I'll be seeing again...

For what it’s worth, it was a lovely clean basic room for canggu area. They have working AC. The location is quite inside but that means you have peaceful sleep. Easy to go around canggu in bike or GoJek. Everything is basic. Bedsheets are clean (change daily). Super wifi. Lovely owner. Perfect for those who needs a private room With great working wifi. Stayed 3 ni...

One of the better homestay in Canggu. Very good price. The rooms are big enough. Only thing that is missing is a closet or some shelves to put your clothes. Location is great. 5 min drive from Berawa beach. 10min from Batu Bolong and surrounded by good restaurants. We stay there two times during our stay. Thank you!

Great sized room and bathroom in a good location for the beach and the action. The included breakfast is at the next door cafe with a good selection. The decor could do with a refresh but was clean and the wonderful staff tidied our rooms each morning like ninjas while we were having breakfast. Beautiful pool - get in quickly to get some sun loungers! We didn't try the...

Needed to crash in Canggu for the night. A bit of a drive from the beach but I had a bike. It's on a main road but the room area is back a ways and was surprisingly peaceful. This also seemed to be one of the few locally owned businesses in Canggu. If you must visit Bali, and you must visit Canggu, please support locally owned businesses.

This is simply my favorite hostel after 2 months of travelling in SE Asia. Built in a small temple in Canggu, with a nice swimming pool in the garden, this hostel is not only charming, but has a really special atmosphere. I was supposed to stay there for 3 nights, and ended up extending 6 more. I met the most awesome travelers there

If you have motobike just stay in Mawar house. The owners respekt their guests and do the best for them. You will have big and clean room, calm and friendly atmosphere, tea, coffe, also you can order food from your room, good wi-fi. Good hot water shower. Just enjoy your staying in this grate place!

Matra Bali is a cute place located next to the rice fields of Canggu in a really Balinese neighborhood away from the crowd. Local market is reachable by foot. Everything else, too, but its a lot more convenient to rent bicycle or motorbike. The friendly stuff will help you. other plus points: free unlimited water, customized breakfast overlooking rice fields, good wifi,...

Best place if you want to get work done, have a great location, need fast wifi, the hot water is amzing and the water pressure is legit. Beds super comfy, staff friendly, they have a cafe up top where you can get a good view and work with the fast wifi and of course get the good food and coffee! Shout out to my man Yogi at the Cafe, if you see him tell him I said wha...

Stayed here for 5 nights and had everything I could ask for at this price point. Great pool, clean rooms, great location (only about 10-15 min motorbike ride from everywhere you want to go in Canggu), great cable with lots of English and movie channels. If your budget doesn't allow you to stay in a villa in Bali, you really can't get better than this.

Not bad, the facilities is quite complete with the nice decor and architeture as well. But what owner and staff must concern is the cleanliness. If i open the curtain i can see the dust flying over everywhere in the room. Then the blanket smells so bad like the “ sweats old man”

Easily the best hostel I've been in in Asia. I booked the wrong date for the first day of my stay, but Steph and Daniel went out of their way to help me find a solution. They were always available to help with whatever I needed during my stay and made me feel welcome. The place is clean, safe, has comfortable beds that don't squeak, is well equipped and generally has ...

I was really liking the atmosphere and the room until I saw a cockroach on my bed. 3 times. The staff came in and with his barehand removed it and told me it was ok. It was ofcourse not and I demanded to change the room, they have moved me to another of the owner's homestay at the beginning of the street. At least that was nice. The next morning the lady at the recept...

Amazing value for money. Close to everything you could need, walking distance or scooter. The owners were super friendly and gave us an extra pillow and sheet for our son without us even needing to ask. The room was super clean and quite spacious for budget accommodation. The shared kitchen and free drinking water was a bonus as well as the small pool downstairs. The w...

Lovely stay in Canggu! The guest frame in itself is great , especially the outside space that make you want to stay in. The budget rooms are all you just need if you want an affordable price, confortable and simple. There some services proposed in the guest (kitchen ,food, transports, ..) The staff is very nice and accommodating and will answer to your questioning with...

What an amazing pool! Slides, kids pool and big bucket! It is the local public pool but not crowded or overly busy. Great way to meet the locals. Restaurant faces over the pool so great place to sit and have your breakfast (or any other meal). Perfect to watch my son in the pool as he never wanted to get out. Rooms are lovely, clean and new. All have a balcony with...

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. We stayed in the separate building which was cheaper but the room was still good. The shower was amazing with hot water. Bed very very comfortable, air con worked well. The pool is so nice and you can easily spend a day chilling round there with a few drinks. The only downfall with the cheaper room is that in the morni...

I’ve stayed in many hostels around Canggu area (6-7 hostels). The Surf Lodge is the best of them. Amazing staff, chill areas, little pool (who needs a big one?), cozy and super clean rooms, hot shower... And the BREAKFAST. Please don’t leave without tasting the banana pancakes. The hostel is quite small, so it’s super easy to meet people and form a little family in the...

Had so much fun staying here. Very relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of main canggu. If you want peace and quiet, it is very great to stay here. Special mention to the staff Dayat, Angra and the other girl (missed her name) for being very accomodating and attended to all our needs. Marie and Clementine is so warm and hospitable and took care of us. Contine...

I spent a couple days at the Pandan Tree Villas and enjoyed it immensely! Ady, and his staff, are extremely accommodating and friendly. Even though we had a slight mishap in regard to maintenance of an AC, Ady made sure to take care of us. The villas are well appointed, clean, modern, open-space designed, and in a very quiet part of Canggu. They have a few scooters ava...

The one bedroom villa had a private pool and an amazing outdoor bathroom. The villa was extremely spacious, clean, and well equipped. Free shuttle to and from airport as well as to Seminyak city centre was really great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location in between Seminyak city centre and Canggu. Would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there agai...

Apart from the in between area which is still under construction this place is amazing! Once you open the doors to the villa you enter a whole different place. A luxurious private oasis, well designed and with fantastic staff. You get a mobile phone with the staff numbers in it, very handy also for making reservations in restaurants. The bed was also great! Real good q...

We stayed in Villa Alamanda with 4 adults and 4 children 10, 8, 6 & 6 Old) The villa was nice, clean and inviting and has a nice pool. The villa is off a dirt road which is nice as there is not much in the way of through traffic , no taxis and no street stalls right near the villa. There are however nice cafes , warungs, and shops in the area too- all within walking ...

We choose a 1 Bedroom Private Pool Villa during mid April. although it was stated as a one bedroom villa we were giving a two bedroom villa when we arrived. We are only allow to use one room, I believe its not an exclusive one bedroom villa but for such a reasonable price who cares. We are lucky that we got the whole villa to ourselves during the low peak season and do...

Was forced to stay in Bali for longer due to the Volcanic eruption canceling flights and booked for 3 nights at the Rama village whilst stranded at the Airport. This became a 4 night stay due to further flight cancelations. Our extended Bali vacation became a better experience due to the great performance of the Staff at the Rama Village in Canggu! They did everything pos...

I booked the villa for my older family group who came to bali for the first time to attend our wedding. I was initially quite nervous as they don’t speak much English at all and a lot of them never had a villa experience. However, Paul (villa’s owner) and her amazing staff (Suli and others) have gone out of their way to make sure that everyone had a good time during th...

I stayed at Umpadhi 2 nights. It is a very modern hotel as far as Bali goes. The room was huge with a king bed and a love seat to lounge on. Super clean with plenty of storage for everything. The bathroom was immaculate. Toilet came with a bidet and there was soap provided for the shower. The room also included a smart TV with plenty of English channels. It’s always...

We stayed there for 2 weeks and absolutely enjoyed all our time spent there! It's located in Canggu which is full of fancy cafes and restaurants so you easily can dine in different place every day. We rented out the 2 bedroom private villa with pool for a group of 4 and absolutely loved it. The rooms were huge, the bed was super comfy and clean, and having the pool all to ourselves was a charm. If you are a surfer then EBV is in a great spot being 150m directly in front of Canggus world renowned river mouth break. The staff are nice, welcoming and helpful. Our travelling date was confirmed only about a month before departure, plus it is Christmas period, there were not much hotel choices left at that time.

Our driver met us at the airport to say that the villa we booked in the Canggu area was having power issues so they moved us to a 3 bedroom Aksata villa only 5 minutes from where we were meant to be. It was so beautiful and the staff were amazing. Breakfast delivered to your door each morning and in a nice quiet area. Only a 5-6 minute scooter ride to Echo beach and ba...

We stayed in this villa for four nights and three of the nights, there was a blackout due to low electricity. Then the third day, we came back to four messy bedrooms and dirty bathrooms and tables were very dirty filled with ants. The staff didn’t clean the room with the excuse of being busy and forgot to tell us. Absolutely horrible. The staff (PIC of villa/contact pe...

We had a wonderful time at Unagi. Peaceful and quiet, we felt very safe and well looked after by the friendly staff. We hired scooters to get around - 5km to Canggu beach. We loved our stay here, first time in Canggu. The staff are super friendly and the villas are very quiet. Quite a nice place to stay. There are a couple of downsides through. First, there is not much to do immediately nearby and getting food delivered to us was a pain because most places didn't know how to find us. Traffic was also more of a pain than usual due to its semi-remote location. For example, getting to Nusa dua took over an hour and a half. Food was okay but not...

Easily the best hostel I've been in in Asia. I booked the wrong date for the first day of my stay, but Steph and Daniel went out of their way to help me find a solution. The place is clean, safe, has comfortable beds that don't squeak, is well equipped and generally has ...
