"While in Bali for two weeks I stayed at several different places and I would 100% recommend the Aston Canggu as a home base for anyone who is visiting Bali. Canggu itself was the place I felt most comfortable (I also stayed in Seminyak, Ubud, and Nusa Dua) Everything you need is close by, Old Man's and the Lawn are within a few metres and they are the most happening places to be but totally laid back and not full of people acting like animals. The breakfast was amazing and you eat at a little seating area behind the pool as well as a gorgeous view of the ocean. The selections for Western and Eastern food were incredible and the staff were ready to get you anything else you needed at the drop of a hat. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I liked it even better than the Westin and Sofitel 5 Star resorts over in Nusa Dua "

"I am single, in my 60's and was in Bali for dental work so wanted somewhere quiet, within reasonable distance of the Denpasar dentist and some Seminyak shopping. For me it was perfect, the only disappointment being the size of the pool which from photos looks large but is actually small although pretty. One charming and helpful young man appeared to do 90% of the work, making lovely simple breakfasts, cleaning the rooms and dining area-- immaculately-- and looking after guest needs such as booking taxis. There is a 2 storey villa which worked well for a family of 5 while I was there and there are 3 other villas. The place is very close to Pererenan beach where there is a reasonable cafe. It is not a swimming or walking beach but great for surfers. A short distance down the beach is Echo Beach Restaurant which has an extensive menu and will also deliver food to the villas free of charge or the Canggu Deli is close which Club restaurant which is fabulous , right on the beach with an extensive menu, and they will also deliver to villas free of charge There is also the Canggu Deli which has a great selection of everything needed to make your own snacks or meals if you dont feel like going out to eat. I highly recommend these Villas to anyone wanting something quieter than Seminyak and Legian yet not remote at a very reasonable price. The setting is quite rural and very beautiful and you can walk along the roads beside rice paddies and fields full of cows without being overtaken by thousands of cars and scooters. Tanah Lot Temple is also quite close, less than half an hour up the coast and spectacular. WiFi was excellent including in the room, no English television but you can buy very cheap dvds everywhere for in-house entertainment. I was sad to leave these wonderful Villas I felt so at home there. "

"loved our stay here. Canggu is an excellent town to visit with lots of really nice bars and restaurants. LV8 Location is great, right on the beach and near to some good spots in the Berawa beach area such as Finns, Milk and Madu, Milu, Savage Kitchen and Parachute. Be prepared to jump in a taxi to get to other areas of Canggu but really cheap and easy to do so. Pool area/ beach club was very nice and most of the time it was difficult to drag ourselves away. Above everything though it was the friendliness of the staff that made our stay really special. Would love to return."

When to Experience Canggu's Magic

The best time to visit Canggu is during the dry season, which runs from April to October. During these months, travelers can expect plenty of sunshine and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration. The pleasant weather also enhances the experience of local events and festivals, providing a vibrant atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.

While the dry season is popular among tourists, the rainy season from November to March has its own charm. The landscape becomes lush and green, and the beaches are less crowded, offering a more tranquil experience. Additionally, some travelers prefer the lower prices and availability of accommodations during this time. Keep in mind that rain showers are usually brief, allowing for plenty of opportunities to explore Canggu's attractions.

Local events and festivals also play a significant role in the travel experience. Canggu hosts various cultural celebrations throughout the year, showcasing traditional Balinese music, dance, and cuisine. Participating in these events can provide a deeper understanding of the local culture and create lasting memories of your trip. Whether you visit during the peak season or the quieter months, Canggu offers a unique experience that caters to various preferences.
