Bedugul hotels & places to stay

Located just off the main road through Candikuning and just meters from the big fruit and vegetable market, this complex of cottages is a good choice for the budget traveler. It has three levels of accommodation. Neat budget rooms at the lowest terrace may also be the quietest since the road noise can be a problem. They have very large verandahs which is a bonus. The mid-level cottages are located up about 20 steps and are roomy. The largest cottages, still just the one room and a big bathroom also have an entry foyer and are located on the very highest level and would not be suitable for anyone who has trouble walking. Candikuning is a Moslem town and Sari Artha is located between two big mosques. What was a big downer for me was that there were no sheets on the bed, just a cotton bedspread on a bare mattress and just one blanket. The nights are cold here. Just across the road is a very good restaurant set in acres of tranquil gardens so it is easy to get away from the road noise. The lake is also just a short walk away.

Love: Location is within walking distance to the awesome botanical garden the cool weather 15 mins walk to the local market area people selling fresh vegetables, strawberries and rabbits along the road great and friendly service. simple breakfast available - toast and hot drink hate: room was super basic and kampung style. old noizy mattress with old bed sheets no sink in the bathroom water heater stopped functioning on our second day :( the scooter renter guy they recommended was a con man, charging us double for everything (he doesn't own the sccoters, he was just the middle man and pocketed the extra money) Transportation between Bedugul and south of Bali should be around 400-500 thousand rupiah.

The room wasn't really clean and the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few months. The staff was kind of friendly but it felt a bit like they didn't really want me there. The view is amazing though but then again it's quite far from the center, so you need a scooter to get around. All together I had much much nicer and cleaner rooms for the same price! As all the rooms in bedugul seem to be similar in these aspects, try to go to munduk and do bedugul for a day trip.

It was my first time to Bedugul, and I took a Bemo to the hotel. It is more of a guesthouse than hotel. I was never certain who was the workers because they did not wear uniforms and no one was ever at the front desk, which was the only place wifi signal was available. The room had a nice view and was very quiet (no roosters! a big deal in rural Bali!), but was not adequately prepared for my arrival. Check in was a guy handing me a numbered key in the small parking lot. When I pointed out there was no toilet paper, one of the workers (seemingly a family member of the family living there), went to buy some at the store and gave it to me later. Staff was nice enough, but no English and not professionally run at all. Location wasn't bad. It was a ~15 min. walk to the famous temple on the lake, but there weren't really any restaurants or stores close to the guesthouse and everything else in Bedugul required motor transportation to get there. The main road was absolutely dangerous to walk after dark as there were no lights at all.

This hotel is a good money for value place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helped me the best they could with everything I wanted such as the rental of a scooter and a car to the airport (for a good price) and the food in the restaurant was quite good too. The new manager is very friendly and tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The only down side is that it is very far from Bedugul itself and the lakes (about 20mins by car) so if you do not have any independent mode of transportation, you are pretty stuck.

Newly opened hotel with modern design, fresh look, clean & comfortable room. From the balcony I can see blue lake surrounded by nice green hills. The location only 200 meters from Ulun Danu Temple, one of major tourist attraction in Bali, also not far from Eka Karya Botanical Garden. With affordable price compare to another hotel in Bedugul this is the best value for money. This hotel has wide variety of breakfast menu. Two thumbs up for the staff performance, fast response for any of our request. During our lunch the Hotel manager was so attentive & serve us with big smile. Highly recommended to spend weekend for local people. Will definitely back!

Pros: Good value (we stayed in the not yet fully upgraded garden view room), loved the new kids play area and rabbits house, it was a beautiful quiet spot that’s why we always come and stay here. GOOD LUCK WITH UPGRADING THE WHOLE RESORTS. It ks a beautiful hotel and should be preserved beautifully :-) Cons: the beds were very squeaky, even when our 6yo rolled over made the bed squeaks. Same with my friend’s room (it’s a shame really because it was their first time to Bedugul and we recommended Handara to stay in). We didn’t sleep the whole night so very unhappy with the bed. Towels need changing as they’ve started to look like old rags.

Very enjoyable Experience. One of the best experience with nature. even the Villa is built nature friendly with a beautiful garden. Nothing much to complain except BREAKFAST; very basic breakfast, but freshly made & tasty. Location: (I was staying in a Villa) on a mountain; Lake & Mountain view from my villa (opposite side) Cleanness: Very clean Staff: Very friendly staff Facilities: Basic facilities. No WiFi & hot water kettle if you are in the villa. But the villa is good with a balcony. Need to walk down to have shower.

Looking back on our stay at the Green Villa, we would have appriciated to know of the history of Green Villa before booking.  No one was there to check us in, and give us the key. When we finally got the key, a broken key blocked the keyhole so the door couldn't be locked.  Inside the small house a table was set up for dinner for two, but the cutlery and everything was covered by a fine layer of dust as if no one had been there for ages. The sheets were dirty so we used our own. We never felt comfortable and safe though out the night.  The day after we found out that a young german coupple mysteriously died in the same room a year ago. Man in the bathtub. Woman in the bed. The history of the place, puts our experience in perspective

My girlfriend and I booked in here for one night on our way back from Lovina to Sanur but ended up staying for two. Could have stayed for a lot longer! We really wanted to check out the temple Ulun Danu near bye. The temple is only a 5 minute drive away and David the host was more than happy to take us in to check it out and show us some of the local sites. He even organised us a scooter so we could take a trip out to the stunning nungnung water fall located 14km away. The villa is immaculate and fully self contained with a flat screen and plenty of channels. By far the best part of the villa was it's location nestled high up overlooking a beautiful valley with rice terraces climbing up the ridge on the otherside. Sitting in the infinity pool overlooking this view gives you a real feel of being in paradise or at least the Balinese form of it. Would recommend this place to anyone heading through that area.

This was an extraordinary hotel located right next to Bratan Lake. The view was great, fresh air, and it was a very luxury hotel with big rooms 120sqm. People usually goes to Ubud area to stay in hotel with nature surroundings, but Bedugul area is a much better choice I would say. Much cooler and the lake with mountains surrounding was exquisite. This is the most luxurious hotel at Bedugul with a reasonable price, way cheaper that hotels in Ubud area. They give free transport by hotel car to the near recreation area in Bedugul like Candi site, BOtanical Garden, Strawberry Farm, and Traditional Market. THe down side is, foods in the hotel aren't that great. Breakfast was standard and no it was no buffet. But the hotel gives free transport to restaurants at Bedugul area which has great food.
