Excellent ”

After the humidity, noise and crowds of Ubud, staying at Bali Bening for 5 nights was, literally, a breath of fresh air. The view from the dining terrace over the valley that leads to the sea, which is visible on a clear day, is gorgeous, with a mountain backdrop by way of a lush contrast. It is far enough from the main road into Munduk and beyond to make transport essential, unless you are a committed walker, but also to dull the inevitable early morning scooter noise. Walks to rice fields and waterfalls are within easy reach, but are in parts quite steep. Well worth the effort though. The view from various mountain top warungs was breathtaking, the food outstanding. Our room was large, well furnished and the large bed comfortable. We did not have,nor need, air conditioning but I could envisage a fan being needed in sultry weather. Everything worked and was in good condition. The shower was hot. WiFi was ok but sometimes a bit slow and unreliable in the evening. The breakfasts and other food we had there was of a high, not exceptional, standard but the service and the warmth of our host’s greeting was always exceptional. Our host, his family and staff were always very friendly and helpful. We hired a scooter from them, which was in very good condition, as were both helmets. Exploring the mountain roads on the scooter was fun. The main roads are steep but well-surfaced, others can be tricky. We rode to the black sand beach at Lovina, which took about an hour. Overall, we cannot recommend Bali Bening too highly. We would certainly stay there again, if we return to the region. Many thanks.

Check out Munduk”

It was raining in Ubud so we decided to jump on the scooter and head north. Munduk is in the mountains. A little bit cooler and very lush. Lots of water falls and rice terraces. Bali Bening was an ideal spot to set up and spend a few days trekking. Made and his wife keep a wonderful hotel and are fine cooks. The views from our veranda were outstanding. Firm beds.

The place to be”

The family is amazing, a lots of good recommandations, suggestions, always ready to help you. The place is quiet with a huge room and so clean! You can go there, it’s the place to be in munduk! I’ll be back for sure!

Perfect Small Hotel”

I booked three rooms at this small hotel in Munduk with some uncertainty because it is new and only had a few reviews. I need not have worried as Bali Bening is a delight to stay at. Run by a charming local family, this 7 room hotel is more like staying in someones private home. All is modern and new. The rooms are spacious and super clean, good wifi and internet. Simple but very tasty meals in the small terrace restaurant that features great views across the valley. Highly recommended and possibly one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed at in terms of the quality of stay vs price. Please support this small family hotel when you next visit the Mundok area!

Excellent séjour dans cet hôtel. Le propriétaire est très gentil et serviable. Les repas sont très bons et la vue magnifique.

Il faut arriver avec sa voiture et chauffeur. Aucun restaurant à proximité mais la cuisine de l’hotel est très bonne.

Tout est neuf, le personnel est aux petit soins et le restaurant est très bon. Il fait être motorisé pour atteindre l'hôtel car sur un petit chemin. La vue est magnifique.

Perfect Place”

Bali Bening is the perfect place to stay in Munduk for a few days and go hike into the mountains to see the 4 waterfalls and the amazing rice terraces. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and the restaurant is delicious! And the view of course ! We will definitely come back when in Munduk.

Hôtel tout neuf et très propre. Le personnel est vraiment adorable, au petit soin et toujours disponible pour donner des conseils sur les visites. Avantage de pouvoir manger sur place de bons petits plats. La vue est magnifique (Idéale pour admirer le coucher du soleil)
