Great place to stay. Brand new”

I could not be happier with the accommodations provided at Bali Backpackers Hostel. The staff here are two of the most friendly people you will meet in your lives. They go out of their way to ensure the guests are happy. Capsule beds, WiFi, AC, Hot Shower, Lockers (if you need them), Cheap Food, Cheap Drinks, Warung across the street is amazing as well. Location is just outside of the main town but, it is quiet at night. Perfect place to stay in Ubud. I would not be surprised to see the price jump up soon (place is a few weeks old), other hostels in town are double the price and have no AC, are dirtier, etc. The value here cannot be beat. I feel as if I am committing robbery staying here.

Ubud is perfect, as so is Bali Backpackers”

everything about my staying was perfect. The room is so good, due the bunkers are separated from each other by a wood wall, that you can close, as the pics show. you sleep with your head near the wall, what I think cooperates for quietness over night - the dorm is very quiet, I slept very well in this hostel. you can use the kitchen to cook, the freezer to storage your groceries and the beer has a very fair price. there's two guitars and someone is always playing on the common area, that has a nice atmosphere, I met awesome people there. AC works, there's hot shower (shared room with the toilet, as usual in Asia, can be a little wet, not a major problem) and lockers (deposit of IRP 50000). it's a little bit far away from the city (40 minutes walking) but it's fine, they have scooters available for rent on site (5 minutes driving), and you better have one anyway if you wanna explore the Ubud area. WiFi works at the rooms. last, but not least, the staff. NoName (Kadek) and Hary are such a nice guys! I have always read that Balinese people are the best, but they were special. so friendly and kind. I had an amazing time there and I miss them already. thank you for everything! and if you're going to Ubud, just do yourself a favor and stay at Bali Backpackers!

    Best Place in Ubud”

The staff here are wonderful and extremely knowledgable about events and placea to visit in and around Ubud. The hotel is kept very clean. There is a good kitchen for guests to use, coffeein the morning, comfortable beds (I like mine a little stiffer but they are soft, clean, and comfortable), and clean bathrooms. I will be here for 3 weeks and I enjoy coming back here after each trip. Musical instruments, Internet, card games, television in the common area, it all makes for a comfortable stay at a price a backpacker can afford. It is a little far out of town, but that is what makes it better. Less noise, less traffic, and lower rates. Security lockers in dorms are available and each dorm has two bathrooms plus one down stairs. Only thing they are missing is a pool. The staff will even cook you an inexpensive breakfast in the morning (not included but very well priced). All in all... Would highly recommend staying here!

    Thank you, Mr Kadek!”

I appreciated with Mr.Kadek, he welcomed and helped us to check in at evening time very friendly. He arranged our ubud taxi tour, introduced us nice Balinese restaurant as well. Even though it was really short staying with Bali Backpackers, I would love to come here again. And they allowed me to cancel one of reservations that I booked with wrong date. Very considerate. Thank you again! Cheers!

Very social hostel ” The hostels location is about 5 - 10 mins by scooter from the edge of ubud town depending on traffic and at least 45 mins walk. Its very new and modern with the capsule style cabins , 2 bathrooms per floor , tours , transport and scooters can be arranged through the hostel. They have a small kitchen and can provide basic breakfast dishes for a small cost swell as selling bintangs , bottled water and soft drinks , there is also a very cheap restaurant across the street , a short walk away is a small grocery mart. The staff are very sociable , polite and outgoing to help travelers and can speak very good English.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a solo traveler. The price of the bunk is extremely cheap, and worth the price with comfortable bed. You will be able to get a affordable price breakfast at the hostel as well. Only the location of the hostel is not near to the town area. Had a great stay in Ubud.

Need to up their cleanliness game”

Let's start with the negatives and end with a good note... Bathroom is caked with limescale and grime. Some (6 in total. 1 at lobby area. 2 on each floor... 3 floors in total. 1st floor is lobby area. The rest, dorms. 20 beds each dorm floor) have a permanent stench. The rest of the place is about a 5:10 in cleanliness. But of course, just like everything else in life, it's relative. If you're coming from the slums of India, it might be a 10. So for reference, relative to the cleanliness of a 5 star hotel... It's a 5:10. The place is a bit old and run down. Pics are a little deceiving since they were taken when the place was new. AC is on only after 6pm, so when it's off (depending on the time of year) it could be like a sauna in the dorm rooms, since it's only one little fan that is supposed to air a hangar of a room where even if they had an industrial fan you would not get the air from in your coffin (capsule). No free coffee, tea or water... like other hostels - yes similarly priced, or even cheaper - in the area (and all around Bali). No internet in dorm room floors. So if you want to use the WIFI, you'd have to go down to the lobby. Major inconvenience if you want to lay in bed and use the WiFi on your phone/laptop. Matteresses have no mattress covers. Location is far from the center. Now for the positives... Staff are cool There is a communal kitchen with an electric kettle, burner, toaster, pots/pans, utensils, microwave and fridge. Nice chill lobby area with enough seats (wooden benches and tables). Motorbike rental (60k/day). Large capsules. Twin bed. With outlet and lamp and curtain. Would I stay here again?. ..if the other similar priced hostels are fully booked, yes.
