Fantastic & friendly”
We come to Costa Rica 2x a year with our disabled son. We arrive at SJO on the evening flight, so we stay the night before heading onward to the beach. We now *always* stay at Hotel Aeropuerto. Their staff are fantastic, in particular Mr. Luis. The included tipico breakfast is good, the coffee great. The lobby has soaring ceilings and a gorgeous house cat. The location is on an access road immediately adjacent to the Interamericano highway, but the buildings are set back on the property and we have never been troubled by road noise at night.

Would stay here again!”
A classic old-style gem of a hotel. Small but had everything we needed. Spacious rooms, nice grounds, helpful staff, clean pool, and surprisingly close to the airport. It was a little hard to figure out how to get to it, as it is located on the margin road next to the highway. Best to go past it westbound then take a sharp U-turn at the next exit and come back east on the margin road. I would definitely stay here again. It is a great value for the price. There is also a very good bar/brewery/restaurant conveniently right next door.

Very pleasant hotel . Owners and staff friendly and helpfu. Clean and large rooms surrounded by a lot of vegetation. Notwithstanding its name no noise from the airport.

Had a pleasant stay. Beautiful yard with a very nice little pool. Great breakfast at a reasonable price. The staff were lovely and very helpful. A great place to stay close to the airport

Worth a stop, even briefly”
Staff were so helpful, especially Sheryl at the front desk. They were very accomodating when we wanted to switch to a larger room. There is a fairly basic (but authentic) restaurant on site, so no need to spend on cab fare to find a meal. And there is a craft brewery on site (how cool).

great locally owned hotel ”
It was lovely to spend our last day in Costa Rica at a hotel that was charmingly unique and not a chain hotel. The staff went above and beyond to help with our various questions. We were able to exchange our leftover colones for dollars and take the shuttle to the airport, relaxed and ready for the long flight home.

Great if you have an overnight layover”
This was perfect for what I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was big and very comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty good as far as Costa Rican hotel breakfasts go. I recommend this if you have an overnight layover but it's probably not the best as a base for spending time in San Jose due to its location.

Great for San Jose Transit Stays”
This is nice little hotel with a pool and beautiful surrounding gardens with mango trees. The room was very clean, the bed was superbly comfortable and the quiet airconditioning made for a restful night's sleep and acclimatisation to the humidity of San Jose after a few cold days in NYC. The staff are particularly helpful and the English skills are faultless for non-Spanish speakers. The generous included breakfast the following morning was also appreciated. I stayed here waiting for a connecting flight to the southwest wilderness areas the following day and this hotel fitted the purpose perfectly. Highly recommended.

Good place for flying out of SJO early morning.”
Your typical hotel room. Not huge, but clean and nice. We were flying out of SJO very early the next day, so just needed a place to sleep. They helped us find a restaurant close by (even though they had a restaurant on site). Not close enough to San Jose to be able to experience the night life there during our short stay, but close to other restaurant options.

Good location, a bit rustic”
the people at the front desk were very helpful and the free airport shuttle is a plus. having the breakfast be included is nice as well. the only negative was the extra guest charge. when you pay for a double room the anticipation is that the price is included, but we were charged $15 extra essentially for having someone sleep in a bed and not use the shower. also, there isn't much to do near the hotel so it's best for a one night's stay prior to flying from one of the airports.

Close to airport and friendly”
The hotel was basic, but the staff were friendly. It is a 5-10 min drive from the airport, but the airport transfer is a little funny. Instead of someone meeting you there, you need to get an Orange Taxi to the hotel which they then pay for. So it is technically a free airport transfer, but if you prefer that someone meet you at the airport with a sign holding your name, just be aware that this is not the case. Going back to the airport a member of the hotel staff will take you. It is a good place for a night or two if you are on your way to or from the airport.

Quiet relaxation close to airport”
Very enjoyable stay, staff friendly and helped us out with a special situation. Also, the groundskeeper helped my husband pick a few mangoes to have for breakfast! The hotel is located near the airport but away from any other businesses so we had no choice but to use the hotel's dining room, which was good food and excellent service but expensive for us.

Friendly service and convenient”
I would stay here again when I have an early morning flight. There is not much to do right around the hotel but the hotel restaurant is nice. I'm told that there is an easy bus you can take to San Jose but I didn't try so I can't confirm it. Good choice if you just want an easy overnight stay to catch an early morning flight.

Clean, comfortable, but hard to find”
Once we found the hotel it was a pleasant stay. It was very difficult to find as it is on a very small side road and the locals only know the hotel by its Spanish name, "Hotel Aeropuerto".

Nice Find”
Our stay was comfortable & relaxed. The only drawback was finding it in the middle of the night, I don't think I could have figured out how to get there without the Garmin. But what a nice relief when we did.
