Situated at the heart of the Bentong city, this retro style shop house is great for one night stay and explore the Bentong city and its food. Only thing you need to bear in mind is the street noise at night and early morning if you are a light sleeper.

Strategic location, cosy home”
Unlike typical four-walled hotel, this place is really cosy and make us want to stayed-in instead of going out. Spacious place with all the neccessities you need, great for group traveller. I will come back to this place if I were to visit Bentong again.

Great homestay”
The owner of this homestay is superb. She is very helpful and caring. Most importantly the house or shall I call it “home” is very clean and you’ll get more than you expected. It is really made out of love, with attention to details and the setting is awesome! Perfect for family or a gathering. You can basically enjoy your stay there with plenty of space for you to organise your activities or to move around. Maybe you can opt sitting down and enjoy the relaxing musics and yes! The owner provides DVDs and CDs too😄 . The location is very convenient and you can park your car in front.

Location near to many eateries and a market. However, as it was on the road side, its very noisy. Car park along the road will get lots of sparrow shit on the car. House is very unique, good experience for kids to experience olden days house.

Thanks, Sieow, glad you and the family found 27 unique :) Apologies about the bird poo, they are not sparrows, by the way. We are not certain of the species, but they are migrating birds and have since left. Noise levels vary from time to time as we are on the main road, but happy to say we also have our share of quiet nights :)

Pros: It's located on top of a bookshop, walking distance (200m) to Pasar Besar Bentong and many eateries. It's exactly like the photos, vintage. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Cons: Quite hard to sleep at night due to the sound of vehicles on the street.

Environment is really nice, but sleeping time surrounded is noisy”
Overall experience can have 70% marks. The good things is what u see in pics, is what you get. But what is not good is, surrounding cos nearby the road side, and it’s old building, old shop lots upstairs, the noice of cars and motorcycles when u sleep, is really loud. But if u say the surrounding of the environment, the shops besides all people are kind, even pharmacy / hospital / market / coffee and cake shop is just nearby. Rooms have air condition, but living room just have ceiling fan, so expect to be hot/warm while u gather in living room before go to bed. If u have more than a family to stay there. Pls be aware that they only have ONE toilet here. And if u prefer to walk around in the house without wearing shoes, the cleanness of the floor will be not up to expected. Coz our foot easily getting black even just right after bath. So, other than the noise at night, share toilet, cleanness of the floor and no air cond at living room, overall environment is quite comfortable.

Dissapointed ! Overrated !”
I wondered how they got so high score. My husband is from Bentong. Ever since our children grown up, we used to book homestay whenever we need to go back hometown as my in law's house not able to accommodate so many people. We have stayed different-different homestay for the past many years, and this unit is the worst that we ever stayed in Bentong. My daughter choosen this unit because of the vintage theme. But I can tell you nothing impressed us. The location is strategic by the main road. So we did expect the noise from the roadside. But when we arrived the 1st thing we noticed is the narrow and steep wooden old staircase. Upstair flooring also old wooden floor which is very noisy whenever someone walk on it. There are three pairs of paper type room slipper there. Three pairs for 5 persons ? So when the two of us walk with bare feet not even 2 mins our feet were so dirty, the floor was so dusty, then only we realised we do need something to put on. so both of us wear the clogs which placed outside the bathroom to walk around the house. Just image the sound of the clog walk on the wooden flooring. Secondly, there is not even paper roll in the house. When we bring our luggage into the rooms, Alamak! Mosquitoes were everywhere. I have to rushed out to buy toilet rolls and mosquitoes repellent. Not only that, we found insects and bugs on the bed and mattress. The living area has no aircon, even we on all the three fans you can still feel the heat from outside as the curtain was only partially cover the window. The most frightening is they put an red old umbrella at the end of the house outside the bathroom, just like the haunted movie. My children were so scare to go to the washroom at night. And one more thing make me so upset is when we came back from dinner with our relatives around 10pm, we found the staircase light was out of order. Located right in the busy town of Bentong. Spacious and tatami beds are confortable. The place may turn you off in the day but it turned into a noltalgic place when lights turn on at night.

家具和陈设老旧到诡异”
家具残旧到诡异 不是所谓的复古。地漆席残旧肮脏。厕所肮脏。订房时网页注明一号房有一张特大双人床，二号房有一张双人床，另有两张单人床，结果只有一张特大床而已其他全是tilam铺地。原本就想将就一晚不做投诉和给评价。结果退房3小时后却接到电话投诉我们拿行李或移动家私拖花地板 (所谓的地板就是老残房的木板地)。我们5人行只拎了3个软布袋行李，请问如何刮花地板?？!!家私残旧，客厅热又吵，我们都不愿坐在客厅，为何要搬动家具,又何来刮花地板？? 简直是无理的投诉。我们旅游愉快的心情全被破坏了。

Dear Miss Ng, We would like to point out that all our furnishings are correctly reflected in our listing. It may be a good idea to read everything carefully before you book in future. Also, you sounded very cheerful when we contacted you, but on hearing that the floors were scratched, you suddenly seemed to not understand any of the three languages we spoke to you. Odd that you understood all prior English communication. Likewise the friend you passed the phone to. As we mentioned, we are not seeking any compensation from you. We called to point out the incident and to inform you that we would lodge a report to Agoda. It is they who will decide what action needs to be taken. We would understand if this had been an accident. However, we regret to inform you that bad behaviour from guests will not be tolerated. Also, may we suggest that you book a modern hotel in future as you as not everyone appreciates vintage. Thanks again for staying with us and our "dilapidated furniture." :)
